I also had a 2020 tundra leveled. Amazing truck! But now I’m in a 2021 tremor f250 with 4:30 gears and max tow f350 springs and I get 2 mpg better as a daily than my tundra did
2020 f250 here. Getting about 7.7 mpg towing daily. 18ft enclosed trailer hauling doors and windows for work. Engine doesn't struggle at all. Just my wallet at pump.
Very good video. I have a 2020 F350 7.3L, STX, 3.73 gears Extended cab, 8 ft bed. Gooseneck. I received it from the factory March of 2020 the same time the factory was shutting down due to covid. I really appreciate the information showing that there is a difference when using the ECO mode.
Thanks for watching. I'm currently testing to see if running premium fuel vs. 87 octane makes a difference. What fuel economy do you see in your truck?
@@blueridgefamilyoutdoors My truck is used as a farm vehicle and I seem to get on average, less mpg all around than the norm. On average short trips (10 miles) offroad, gravel road and highway, I get between 11 and 12 mpg. When pulling a 15K hay trailer with 16% grade on a winding road I get about 6 mpg. On the Interstate I get 14. Personally, I think overall that is a good mpg considering the terrain. One time I filled the tank with premium 93 octane and really could not tell if there was additional power,I did not think to measure the mpg at the time. There is a lot of difference in price per gallon.
I got 2022 F 350 King Ranch long bed with 4.30 gearing. I live in Utah so i drive mountain a lot and get between 14 to 15 mpg empty on 91 oct 13 on 87. I tow 13000 lbs 5th wheel rv and mpg drop to about 9 mpg.
I have a 21 7.3 4.30 just drove to Sevierville about 200 miles from my home. Middle Tn I got 14.on the lieometer when I hand ck it's about 8 tens off. Just 3 people and luggage unladen otherwise. My last truck was a ram 4x4 1500 it was a little better on the highway but not much. We didn't buy these trucks for gas mileage but I still ck. Great video.
Dual battery videos would be cool. Exactly how the dual battery system works. Also maybe include the 7 way charging line to the RV vs. different RV battery types. Lots you could get into.
@@blueridgefamilyoutdoors You should find a HP tuner in your area to have the vehicle tuned for your elevation and intended use. HP tuners is NOT a bypass chip, it is a licensed tune done on the trucks computer that does not void the warranty, because HP tuners buys the license to change it. What this does tune the engine for the fuel you intend to run and the elevation you are at. ALL trucks come with the same California CARB tune and it is not an efficient tune for ALL states and elevations. So if you are wanting more fuel mileage and clean burn of the fuel have the truck tuned for the work and environment you are operating in. My tuner charged me 300$ and it was well worth it, MPG picked up from 10 city to 14 and highway from 15 to 19 MPG. Just from the tune alone optimizing for the fuel i burn and climate i drive in.
Great video and good information. I just bought a 22 F350 Lariat Tremor 7.3 Godzilla with a 4.30 rear and I am getting around 14.5mpg using 87 octane gas when driving on the highway and 11 driving in town. Have not done any towing with our Travel Trailer yet so I have no data on that MPG.

good vid, i been thinking about an octane booster. tire will make a small difference too. I use my truck for towing and 99 % is interstate so i put on the Michelin ltx a/t2 tires and they gave me a half to a mile per gallon.
@@blueridgefamilyoutdoors ya they are an all season, they will working in the snow but they are not great in it. they do well the rest of the year. i have a winter tire i do put on for snow
Anything above 10K GVWR used for business and crossing state lines is considered a commercial vehicle and requires DOT numbers. Many states use the same rating for intrastate as well
Great video sir. I'm a chevy guy and love my L8T in my 2500, but I also am a ford guy too and love the Godzilla engine. The engines that are being produced these days with most all manufacturers are incredible. Please keep the videos coming. I love them all!!!! We live in Atlanta. Would be fun to meet up someday for some real world testing of both trucks with the same load.
Thanks for watching! I appreciate the comment. I'm down around the Atlanta area fairly often on the summers. Maybe we could meet up and chat sometime. I'm always up for truck discussions!
It's basically a setting that changes throttle response to be less aggressive. It helps you be easier on the throttle, thus, easier on gas. It's somewhat noticeable when driving, but it's not glaring.
Just bought the f250 Tremor with the 7.3L with 4.3 gear ratio. my gas milage is going to suck! Oh well, it did before. Traded in my 2014 F350 with the 6.7L diesel. It had to many emission system issues. I’m done with it! I loved my diesel, but the EPA killed that love affair.
I had a diesel as well, and loved it. There's too much nonsense with them regarding emissions. The 7.3 is a great option. Check out this video, ua-cam.com/video/NkVMGEmx51k/v-deo.htmlsi=2FwN45birS4HcCRp for more fuel mileage info. It may be helpful to you. Many have reported that the 4.30 gears aren't as bad as one might think.
Powerstrokes also cost $10,000 more up with a significant increase in costs associated with maintenance. This video is geared more to folks who don't tow heavy loads and don't necessarily need a diesel or want the expensive up front costs of the diesel option. Also, gas is typically cheaper than diesle by 25%-30%, which negates a fuel mileage advantage. The 7.3 is a potential option that I wanted to highlight realistic expectations should they choose to buy one. I also have a video on how the 7.3 tows 10,000 across the Rockies if you want to check it out. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Thanks. Be sure to check out my other video as well!

Those last gen Tundras are awesome trucks, but no much on mpg's.
It’s all about gear ratio. I haul 10,000 lbs daily with 4:30 gears I get 7.5 mpg
I have a friend with Hiway gears and he gets 14 mpg
Agreed.

Powerstroke gets 25-30% better fuel economy and I tow at 70-75. Plus Powerstroke towing is so much more smooth- not high revving or downshifting...
