To be fair to the Broncos’ defense, once your opponent scores 17 points you know there’s no need to risk getting injured because you know your own offense will never score more than 17 points.

This just shows that having the right type of offense and play calling with the right coaches in the right positions can make a world of difference for the quarterback. The way Baker has come into LA playing incredible and just taken over the offense as he has is nothing short of amazing!

Yeah, the Russ crowd was doing everything they could to get Pete to retire (constant Twitter/YT/PFT comments re: Get rid o' Pete), but I think we found out this year that Pete was propping up Russ to a degree that no one in the entire NFL ever imagined was possible. What a crazy, insane, unbelievable year this has been.
And altho' I'm a Seahawks fan, I'm really enjoying seeing how a great coach (McVay) can get results out of a QB that's otherwise considered washed up (Baker). Shanahan is making magic, too, in SF. Plug-and-play QBs? Freakin' insane.

I never wanted watson, baker proved he could be the man if given the right tools.
stefanski wants a pocket passer that can escape pressure when he has to. that isn't baker. baker's a play action and roll out qb who's also excellent with quick release timed routes. deshaun watson will also fail under stefanski... the browns future looks bleak af.
and don't forget that baker, in LA, has access to his favorite coach of all time and just the best developer of quarterback talent the game has ever seen, lincoln riley at USC.

What happened last week
Shanon has repeatedly said he’s average. And he is. Average qbs have these games from time to time. He’s not a bust, also not bad or great. Just average. This is 80% McVay. Look at what Shanahan is doing with Brock Purdy. Don’t forget he basically polished stafford up too who was on the decline.

He has always been better on paper than in the game with Lions playing from behind constantly but he managed to make it thru well enough last year with a great team around him. Reality is he is probably closer to the player he showed early this year .

In a perfect world they'll keep both, I think having Stafford there is part of what's helping baker bake. He came in and didn't have anyone with knowledge to really show him the ropes it's been trial and error. Picking the brain of a high level vet is an underrated luxury as a qb

Honestly, if you would have told me the Rams would win at least 5 games this season with half of their offensive line, starting QB, top 2 wide receivers, top defensive lineman out at this point of the season with OBJ and Von Miller not on the squad I would be shocked. As a Rams fan, yes the injuries hurt us. But we won the super bowl and my boys gave me an excellent Christmas gift this year. First ever win on Christmas Day, so I’ll take it look forward to the last 2 games of the season and our health back. Merry Christmas everyone!

Last season in Chicago, it was demonstrated plain as day that a "Coach of the Year" head coach (Matt Nagy) used a hapless QB (Mitch Trubisky) as a scapegoat to cover the fact he was a fraud and didn't really know what he was doing. This season, it appears that another "Coach of the Year" head coach (Kevin Stefanski) is getting largely the same (if not worse) results from Watson as he did from Mayfield.
This is why I am convinced Baker was being scapegoated by Stefanski much the same way Nagy scapegoated Trubisky.

I lived in Seattle when Russ was drafted. I watched him make some amazing plays. Everyone was talking about RG3 and Andrew Luck, but i was really impressed with Wilson in his first few seasons. Of course he had Marshawn Lynch and some great tho very underrated wide receivers. Also had the Legion of Boom to handle some business. I think the decline started after that horrific Super Bowl loss to the Patriots. Now he is unrecognizable. Outside of football he seems to be doing well with a family and lots of money.
Agreed. I have no regrets having him as our QB. SB48/49 were amazing years, especially with Lynch and the LOB. Best years that team ever had. Literally no one wanted to play the Hawks back then. Glad I was around to witness that.
@mindyschocolate he's had the best season statistically in 2020 with a 40-13 touchdown interception ratio and led the team to 12-4. He really hasn't declined as much as seahawks fans say he has until this year.

This is the most memorable game in recent years that I come back to watch. Baker looked good sad that he has gone to the Buccs. He fits so well with our Rams. This is the game that got a HC fired and a game that gave an unwanted QB starting job. Baker thanked the Rams for giving his fun back. Hope Wilson have a better year this season under Sean Payton.

Turns out trading a ton of picks and players for a 34 year old QB who ran himself out of town at his previous team and then immediately giving him a quarter of a billion dollars to ensure he stays your QB until he's 40 was not the most wise decision.

@@edwardgaines6561 it’s was issues with the coaching and Qb is what I believe. Not sure if you watched the entire game but baker was smiling like crazy. Haven’t seen him smile this much on the browns.
@@edwardgaines6561 He did, in 2020. 2019 he had a bad bad coaching staff. 2021 he was injured for most of the season, but still stuck it out.
@@huchlvr Baker shares some blame on that. First, he shouldn't have tackled that guy who intercepted him, and second he should have swallowed his pride and got the surgery after Week 2 last season. It would made it harder for the Haaslams to get Deshsun without knowing Baker's recovery, plus the optics would just look shitty to the fans. But what's done is done.

This latest trend of gambling picks on on these aged premiere quarterbacks needs to stop, like selling your goods because they're about to expire. Teams should just take the old approach of just drafting a young, fresh QB with no bad habits and building him up, like Trevor Lawrence.
