"I'm the boss of my sweater!" YES! YES YOU ARE! Yay for souvenir knits - we knit so many memories into our projects. I think I prefer a hat-on-the-go more than a sock because there's less to think about regarding fit and sections - at least with a simple minimal to no patterning hat (like ribbed hats or Musselburghs, etc). I love Banff - it has been maybe 20+ years since I've hiked that area but I have great memories of it with my family. The color of the water and the reflections are just surreal. Thank you for sharing! ~Stephanie
Thank you do much for watching, Stephanie! I agree about knitting memories into projects. I can look at things I’ve created and can remember sadness, joy, comfort, etc. It’s something that I find so special about this craft.
Hi Becky! It was so nice to meet you at Wool & Folk! I wish it had been at Wool & Folk 2022 and not Wool & Folk 2023! I hope the experience doesn't keep you away from Rhinebeck in the future! Your knits are beautiful and I enjoy your content. I hope you continue to find time to create it! Best wishes to you and yours!
Thank you so much, Heidi. What a kind comment. I enjoyed meeting you, too! Hopefully, I will get a chance to go to Rhinebeck in the future. I really did enjoy the NYSW festival. Wool & Folk, not so much 😂.
I picked the darling Hyphen cardigan for a baby sweater gift knit recently too! So damn cute. I used leftover SW Merino Madeline Tosh. What baby doesn't need some Madeline Tosh in her life? hshenry on ravelry.
I recognized Morraine Lake and I think Lake Louise. There are some amazing parks in Rockies, so glad your family got to spend some time there. I remember canoeing in the red canoes as a kid in the 90's 😁
I love watching your podcast. It was nice to see the familiar places that you visited during your vacation. I am glad that you enjoyed it. I live 150km from Banff National Park and visit it frequently throughout the year. Cheers
If you ever get close to Alberta again please get ahold of me. I promise we will not go anywhere near squeaky acrylic yarn or Styrofoam. 😂 I am also very glad that you came away from that aggressive Fino unscathed. 😮💨
I will definitely let you know if I’m in Alberta! It would be so fun to meet up with you! I would even squeak some acrylic and drink from styrofoam if it meant seeing you. 😂
Hello! I’m so glad this video popped up for me! Your “jelly arms” was what made me subscribe! Your knitting and knitting attitude are really great, and I’m looking forward to catching up with your videos!
I love the footage you shared from Banff, Moraine Lake, and my favourite LYS, Stash! I live in Calgary and it makes me so happy that you had a chance to visit us. I hope you enjoyed the trip! ❤ Such a lovey podcast, thank you for sharing all of your makes with us 😊
Great podcast! I loved seeing your WIPs, and the footage of your trip, and I feel totally validated that I'm not the only one with tactile issues - my problem is wooden popsicle sticks. If I bite into one (even typing it gives me the chills), I feel like I will pass out. LOL!
Lovely episode, your footage of the trip you took to the national parks was amazing. I smiled when you mentioned your 'teenage' Manos del Uruguay skein - I am about to finish a tee in the same yarn and it was initially a nightmare to wind. I had it on the swift but it was so tangled then suddenly there was a break in the yarn, when I found the end again it did actually wind ok but was kind-of 'sticky' (fluffed together a bit) so had to go slow. Glad I persevered tho!! 😄 Look forward to the next episode.
Wow Banff looks beautiful, thanks for sharing that footage! I’m also knitting the tessellated pattern, though I’m making the pullover version, and it is going sloooow. I’m glad I’m not the only one making slow progress on that one, even though it’s beautiful!
Yesterday, this video popped up on my UA-cam notifications. I just sat to knit and watch this today. WOW! What an incredible podcast. You are so calming to listen to and have just amazing projects. New subscriber here! :)
Thanks Becky for today. Flying home from visiting Mom in CA., knitting along and finishing my Lento. Inspiration here for sure. I love the first shawl and might be adding in my Que ( keeps growing)…. But first must knit another hat for my husband. He is already wearing hats back in MI. The views of the Big Horn on your hikes as well Mountains are stunning. Thank you.
I loved visiting Canada quite a few years back, and would love to go again in the future. Thanks so much for (virtually) taking me along on your holiday. :)
My husband and I just got back from Jasper and Banff. First time there and I couldn’t get over how stunningly beautiful it was. Flew into Calgary but didn’t make it to any yarn shops. Just our hotel and Tim Horton’s! I was impressed with how multi cultural Calgary is. Did you happen to hike the Lake Agnes trail? Looking forward to your next podcast.
How cool, Karen! Maybe our ships passed in the night 😂 We did hike the Lake Agnes trail and ate at the tea house. And then we went on to hike Little Beehive after. ❤
That hiking and alpine lake footage was glorious Becky! You've definitely inspired me to knit the Ranunculus pattern now. Also, I LOVE the Manos del Uruguay Fino yarn and found that it's perfect for shawl knitting, but agree that it is difficult to wind on a ball winder, so I normally have them do it for me in store to save myself the headache. ;-)
I so enjoy your podcast! You’re so natural and honest and easy to listen to. Your projects are so lovely! I have some Fisherman’s wool that you have inspired me to find a pattern for. Thanks!
Just catching up with your videos. I am a bit of an English nerd, and I am so glad you asked whether the correct word is cast or casted. It is cast. (spread the word) I've been working on a ranunculus and I like the idea of a cotton/linen one for the spring/summer. Maybe the tessellated vest also...so many projects haha.
I (Denielle) think I mentioned in our first episode how I also knit hats like people knit socks. I almost always have one on the needles, I think they're a great travel project, and I love making, wearing, and gifting them!
Beautiful footage from your trip! I also wanted to say that I absolutely LOVE Juniper Moon Patagonia and have knit with it a ton this year. I used it for the main color of my Shiftigan, for one of the colors of an Inclinations cowl, and I've swatched with it to be the main color for an upcoming Sheep Camp Sweater. It's so wonderful to knit with and it's such a great price point as well. Love your Lone Skein shawl color!
Your vacation pictures are amazing. We are heading out to Colorado next week for a few days of camping. I can't wait to see the mountains. You have some great projects going on. I'm going to go find the ranunculus knit a long. I'd love to start my first one along with others. Yours turned out great, I like the modifications you made. The silta is also beautiful! I just want to knit everything you have shown here. Thanks for all the great ideas.
I am currently working on the ranunculus. Yours looks great. I am still working on my sweater for Rhinebeck too. I am stuck on sleeve island for the Corran cardigan. Determined to finish as well. Hope to see you there.
Hi Becky! I Love your white ranunculus! Looks fantastic on you. I will have to try the lone skein shawl. I enjoy making one skein shawls that are scarf-like in design. Best wishes from a Canadian knitting podcaster!
Another lovely episode, and of course thank you, thank you, thank you, for the mention! I can't wait to see how your slipover turns out. Your vacation definitely sounds like my kind of trip and your footage was amazing! I will need to make my up to that part of Canada soon. Talk soon - Mia ❤
I have had a very similar experience with a skein of Manos del Uruguay. Nearly chucked it out the window. It was (eventually) very lovely to knit with and a gorgeous colour but boy was my language creative during the winding process. I don't think I have attempted to use any since even though I have some in my stash.
The Silta shawl is stunning! I vote (if I get one, lol) for the Hinterland dress!!! Your hike looked amazing!!! Were you in Banff when the bears were stalking some hikers? 😳🐻
@@AHandKnitLetter okay, that is the size I am doing and it is coming out great. I will need to figure out a size for my granddaughter though. She wants a wide off the shoulder look in a DK yarn.
You have such a stunning natural environment in Your country 😍😍😍
Thank you for your lovely podcasts 🥰
Thank you so much! And thank you for spending some of your time with me. ❤️

Aww, you’re welcome, Kathie!
I LOVED seeing your footage of Banff! I grew up in Alberta, and miss the mountains so much! (My husband and I were engaged at Lake Louise ☺)
What a beautiful place to grow up, Amanda!!❤ Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment. ❤
I picked the darling Hyphen cardigan for a baby sweater gift knit recently too! So damn cute. I used leftover SW Merino Madeline Tosh. What baby doesn't need some Madeline Tosh in her life? hshenry on ravelry.

It was sticky! Glad I made it through, too. Not sure if I will buy that again. But, it knits up so lovely. Thanks for watching, Aly!

Hello Becky! 💜 Love your Classic Rib hat and Tessellated Vest. Your Hyphen Cardigan is adorable. The Canada footage was beautiful.

Went and put that hat in my favorites! And oh wow how amazing beautiful your vacay photos are! Thanks for sharing those.

Banff is on my bucket list. 😍😍😍 Beautiful knitting. The classic rib hat is on my fall knitting list.
Thank you, Kristan! I hope you can go to Banff in the near future. Be sure to show me your hat when you knit it. I would love to see it.
I so enjoy your podcast! You’re so natural and honest and easy to listen to. Your projects are so lovely! I have some Fisherman’s wool that you have inspired me to find a pattern for. Thanks!
Thank you so much for your kind comment, Rachel.❤ Let me know what you decide to make with your fisherman’s wool. I would love to see it!

I bet your Ranunculus is going to be beautiful! I think I need a winter one. I cast on (wink) the Halibut cowl and am working on that right now.

Thank you, Catherine! I think I will do the dress after all. About the bears, if I was, I didn’t know. And good thing!😂
What size did you make on the ranunculus ( 0,1,2,3,etc. ?
