I didn't expect a video on an AWACS plane, much less one that isn't very well known or documented. It's pretty awesome to discover that kind of aircraft! Makes me wonder if we'll ever see an AWACS that doesn't fly the E-767 in the Ace Combat series...
The Mexican roundel reminds me of the Belkan Roundel at 9:40. Excellent video! Did not know this plane existed and am glad that I was able to learn from this video. Seems like a cheap and effective AWACS aircraft.

There's also another thing to be taken into consideration: the availability of research material. I was going to compare the EMB-145 with the E-767 in this video but because information on the E-767 is hard to find, there wasn't much to compare. Also since the E-767 is only operated by the JASFD, even if there is material about it most likely won't be sold in the west and if a book is written in Japanese I won't be able to do much good.
While researching about this plane I remember reading that Embraer Defense and Security says they want to focus on larger platforms instead of small ones, that being said I could see them modifying a 170 or 190 series plane into an AWACS aircraft

We use satelites (CBERS-4 and 4-A, Amazonia 1), but you cannot monitor everywhere with satelites, it can take a few days or up to a week for a satelite in polar orbit to revisit the same spot.
Just like literally 90% of all AWACS planes. Passenger planes are most suitable for the job because they are designed to carry passengers efficiently and at low cost. The only difference is that the payload is radars. And no one is spending billions of dollars in developing a new platform that is only going to sell a few dozen units.
