you should watch her live, She's one of the greatest vocalist here in the Philippines, She was tag as the Philippine's Soul Princess and The Fearless Diva, I recommend her live performance of Somewhere Over the Rainbow and Mc Arthurs parks where she showcase her Vocal Abilities.
Love love love Jona, thank you so much for reacting to her. She can do pop, rock, R&B, soul, classical, musical theater and even Opera. She has been nicknamed the fearless diva, Asia’s soul princess, and Asia’s Canary. Jona and Morissette are good friends they perform together often especially when they were part of the ASAP Birit Queens. Jona is so versatile. She can bring you in with a soft voice in a song like this, but she can overpower you with a song like her rendition of Somewhere over the rainbow. If you get the chance please react to this video: Video Title: Jona - Somewhere Over The Rainbow (Live) || The Aces If you like her and want to react to more of Jona I have many recommendations for you. Thanks in advance, appreciate you PS, loving the Miss Saigon reaction
Underrated and under played. Great 👍 Suggested duet video 📹: Jona Viray and Morissette Amon sing Problem and Emotions. I was in The Philippines 🇵🇭 in December 2022. The singers they are incredible 🤯 Some Filipino singers + their songs: 1 Chloe Redondo and Daryl Ong sing Almost Is Never Enough. 2 Zephanie Dimaranan and Julie Anne San Jose sing When You Believe. 3 Elaine Duran, Klarisse de Guzman and Nina Girado sing Fantasy and Emotions. 4 Elha Nympha sings Vision of Love. 5 Maymay Entrata sings Amakabogera. Wishbus version 🚌
I wonder if it was my comment you noticed that recommended Jona. I may have said something like you have many Morissette reactions, but you should check out Jona, who is my favorite singer, and has sung many times with Morissette. Jona also has a beautiful high head voice. Here's a Jona performance I recommend from 2019, which for some reason I had not discovered until five months ago, Coincidently the title is similar to this song but it's completely different, the Lady Gaga song from A Star Is Born, I'll Never Love Again. It's an amazing live performance, and like I'll Never Love This Way Again, she starts softly, and it has two crescendos and a key change. There are several audience videos, including one on Jona's channel, but this link is to a venue production video which is better quality: ua-cam.com/video/fOitELGlNlk/v-deo.html PS Now that you have started reacting to Jona, I am subscribing to your channel.
Dionne Warwick's version is still the one for me. I like the updated arrangements and Jona's vocal ability is undeniable, however, I didn't enjoy how she changed the melody in the verses. Covers are tough because there's no avoiding comparisons with the original.
To add to my previous comment because you asked who else are they hiding in the Philippines here are a few of my favorites: Lea Salonga (You know her already) Morissette (you know her) Jona (you now know her) Regine Velazquez (The Queen, one of the greatest singers I have ever heard) Katrina Velarde (Powerful vocalist with a beautiful tone) Rachelle Ann Go (you know her as Gigi in Miss Saigon patroon version) Klarisse deGuzman (one of the ASAP Birit Queens - also once eliminated Morissette in the Philippines version of the Voice singing contest) KZ Tandigan (Amazing live on stage performer) 4th Impact (Sister group with amazing harmonies) Sarah Geronimo ( Asia’s Pop Princess) There are so many others I can go on for hours.
SalvoG I know you are interested in Broadway Musicals and also seem interested in discovering more great singers from the Philippines. This video mixes both for you. A medley of Broadway Music hits and some great singers from the Philippines for you to hear. Christmas Broadway Medley: This is the full title of the UA-cam video if you want to search for it: Kapamilya Singers perform a Broadway medley at ABS-CBN Christmas Special 2021 PS - You will recognize one of the singers immediately.
Kind of Disney-esque but lacking the depth and soul of Dionne Warwick's original. It's a pretty voice but doesn't do the song justice because it doesn't match the lyrics.
She's too breathy and changing the melody line too much in the verses and at the end of the chorus. Dionne Warwick was definitely better in the 1979 original.

Jona performs same quality in studio and live. Always the producer’s choice. :)

I prefer the old Dionne Warwick version. But this was lovely
This is just basic to her considering her vocal range and power in real.
I do like her but I love Dianne Warwick much more
Dionne Warwick has been making the rounds of various US TV shows in the last couple weeks.
She's good but I prefer the original Dionne Warwick.
Yes! Beyond question!
@@kmach1000 yes, Dionne is inimitable.
