Coming back to singing and playing my guitar after years of not really feeling like. Choose this one. Appreciate your down to earth explanation and the free music sheet! Thanks very much! Feeling hopeful.
Thankyou so much for this tutorial, I was playing it this morning and thinking I still didn't have all the chords.... Till now. Also liked the way you presented it, simply and easily. This is such a beautiful song and as you get older it feels so much more applicable. Your a scholar and a gentlemen..... Thankyou.
thanks guy for the comment! Glad you enjoyed it - I taught a lovely pentangle song last night - Lord Franklin for AcousticMasterclass.com students, that's another great one!
Thank you - very clear and nicely presented tutorial. Loved the E/G# on the chord sheet - after 50+ years of playing this song Fairport style, I had missed that! You might want to change the Am6 to Am9 (Am+high B).
It's beautiful and wonderful and I am so grateful for this video tutorial and the chord sheet along with it. You are a wonderful person!! Thank you so much! I know how cheesy that sounds now that I read it back but...who cares! It's the truth. 😉👍
Ahh thanks so much! I really appreciate your comment and I’m very glad it’s helped you out! It’s such a great song and a pleasure to teach it! Cheers Chris
Really glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the comment! If you sign up at AcousticMasterclass.com you get a welcome 1/2/1 online lesson with me (Chris) on joining.. I could definitely help you out on the rhythm technique in that! We also have regular group zooms through the month looking at topics like this. Thanks.
Beautiful playing and nice of you to share and teach your talent for the many. Does Eva Cassidy played this in open tuning? This seems in standard tuning. Is that what Sandy played it in, standard tuning? Maybe it can be played in open E, right?
Hello :) Yes I just listened to Eva's version (I love Eva Cassidy). She played it pretty much the same way as in the lesson I gave here give or take a couple of chords that she adds in. If you listen to the Fairport and Sandy Denny version again this part works with it. Saying that both Eva and Fairport play it without a capo as mentioned in the tutorial! Hope it helps you out, Chris www.AcousticMasterclass.com
@@seenonyt2210 Hi! No way I'm I that good but actually ended up on my own tuning to open C using CGCEGC and posted it on my channel about a year ago only I somehow found myself combining it with my original song I was working on "Signals" and adding in some lyrics and melody of my own to the song... for what it's worth ha! Very nice of you to take the time! I don't know why but sometimes I don't get a notice that one of my comments have been replied to and in this case the great musician who created this video replied a whole year ago! Thanks to you I also listened to Daisy Rickman's cover and beautiful! I'm so amateur I discovered I listened to it 5 months ago just stumbling upon her cover and probably never realized she was playing in open D and left a comment ha! I notice same chord shapes as my open C as Daisy must be playing in DADF#AD. Due to the angle of the camera I can't tell what chord shape she uses up around the 4th fret. Again, thank you very much!
@@mwj5368 thanks a lot for your comment! And for mentioning your own version of the song, combined with your original song Signals! Very nice work! I have listened to it and like it. The low C of the tuning sounds sounds really good and evocative, I find. I also want to listen to it again to hear more how you blended it with your own work. Very creative! Thanks a lot again and looking forward to your next videos!
@@seenonyt2210 Wow! Thanks for your encouragement and support! You really have an ear for music to pick that low C out and contemplate using it in your own music I think you mean. Are you going to start a channel? It was strange as I don’t know how I blended the two songs, it just happened. I don’t know YT rules if I can name songs but my original that begins with a “J” is in open D or DADF#AD and so is the cover “BSN”, the cover “M” is open C as well as my original “TR” that I also had a 30 min version up for about 3 days recently and took it down until I re-record it. The "normal" length of it I have posted is just over 8 min. I have two originals coming in standard tuning, and another in open C capo 4th fret later this week by 1-15-23. A fan was so nice to make a video of a song from one of my solo piano albums. THANKS AGAIN!!!

Verse chords are very close to Melissa by the Allmans
I have to check that one out!
That's nice but I prefer the Sandy & The Strawbs version
Thanks John! I’ll have to look it up!
just take the capo off man
Capo 1st, then the bandage
Great lesson, thanks.
A pleasure Jeff! I’m glad I filmed it a few years ago! Still making people happy with this great song!
