    Great content dude. I just wanna point out something like I see quite often : the shot at 14:30 with that wide angle (let's say 18mm to 24mm perhaps) you don't have that depth of field. That's physically inaccurate and (to me) looks like a miniature. Contrary to the shot at 14:46 (more like a normal to long lens here) where you get that depth of field with a large aperture. It's super important to know about lenses, focal lengths and all that stuff to help to tell the story. Yes, you can have "creative license" of course but sometimes can impact in a negative way IMO. Cheers

    Yellow is the complement of blue, at least in an additive, light-based model; what color theory are you basing your statements on?
    It annoys me when people use some arbitrary color wheel that is either not based on physics at all or something irrelevant like how pigments of a certain kind mix.
    Ultimately color wheels are not a realistic representation of color anyway; wavelengths do not form a loop.
    Whenever people talk about color there often are wrong assumptions and faulty logic at play, e.g. the No Film School article makes a lot of statements about color and psychology/emotion, even though those associations are extremely subjective or influenced by culture. Some things might be universal, like the warm/cold scale, but people should be more careful about these generalisations and actually provide evidence to back up such claims.

    • @BlenderBob
      @BlenderBob  2 роки тому

      You're right. The complementary color of pure RGB yellow is pure B. What I ment was that this yellow's complementary color is closer to purple (what I had in mine was more like 184, 179, 114. I eyeballed it. I should have taken the real RGB value.

    • @BlenderBob
      @BlenderBob  2 роки тому

      Beside, is subtractive, yellow is the opposite of purple. It's not because you are using RGB additive that you have to follow that color wheel. It's all about artistic choice. We can also talk about ACES that has a much wider gamut than sRGB but very few people don't have a monitor that can display such a wide range. At the end, it's not the academic theory that counts. It's the artistic beauty.

    • @ELStalky
      @ELStalky 2 роки тому +1

      @@BlenderBob Yellow is the opposite of purple in red-yellow-blue color model, additive or subtractive does not matter. In RGB yellow and blue are always opposites, in additive they add up to white in subtractive they add up to black. RYB is one of the those pigment based models that i consider to be pretty useless outside of its practical applications for painting with such colors.
      In any case, i agree that the artistic choice is important. If someone says they chose colors because they like them or think they look nice together that is far better than claiming that they are objectively a great match based on some phony color theory that does not stand up to scrutiny.
