After arriving in Uttam Nagar via a taxi 7x the normal price, I was immediately called over by a friendly local selling watches asking me to take his video! He showed me his watches and other friendly locals slowly started gathering around to see what the commotion was all about with an American speaking Hindi. The interaction was both fun and simple. This is why I love learning languages, because you really get to know the people of a country.
After chatting and joking for a while, I decided to buy one of the man's watches since he was so nice. I already have a watch I normally wear but the man was too nice and enthusiastic to not purchase something. After asking for his opinion, he decided that the light brown leather watch would be a good fit for my skin color. I obliged on his offer, and got the watch for 500 INR, or just over $6 USD.
After that, I asked them for directions to a shop called Pizza on Wheels which was supposed to be famous in the area. I wandered around for a while but couldn't find it. While wandering around I met a nice gentleman from Agra who had watched my India videos from the previous trip. We had a nice chat.
After that, since I didn't have a SIM card yet, I decided to call it quits looking for the shop and catch the metro to Moti Nagar to try some fish pakoda, coming in the next video.

Amazing to see Chris feel at ease with the shopkeepers in Uttam Nagar in Delhi! I visited Uttam Nagar more than a decade back and I bought some snacks and a cap from the local shops and traveled by cycle rickshaws around Uttam Nagar and Vikaspuri. (The Metro line was not built back then in that region of Delhi)

You will find every skin types in India.. Most North Indians are Caucasian looking or white/yellow pale. South Indians have mostly dark skin due to the weather and melanin.

I wish you would have met me in uttam nagar bcoz the place you were looking for, ‘Pizza on Wheels’, was just few meters away on your right.. it’s not a restaurant or a very famous place.. but just a small takeaway shop..nothing much to miss. Moreover I would have suggested you to try the Raj kachori of Kali ghata sweets (which was in front of you while talking to that guy) which is my personal favourite.. and many tasty things in that area.
