Its a great little speaker. I use my Samson for practice at home, busking and for my bar gigs and open mics. I sometimes plug my Samson mixer into it if i need some extra and from my mixer it goes into the house mixer and house PA and use my Samson Expedition Express as a floor monitor in those situations. Not everyone coming out of the factory for any speaker and brand will always be good. There will be duds now and then. I lucked out and got one of the good ones. Love my Samson.

I have this pa n i love it! I use those speakers as monitors n have bigger ones for my mains
The only complaint I have is that the mixer has no cover to protect it when packed for transport. Seems it could have been designed with the mixer placed panel first into the back of the speaker. Or at least some sort of plastic cover.
I never noticed this but yeah I wouln't have to put it in a Rubbermaid tub if the freakin' knobs were covered

Looking at buying these second hand. Are they powerful enough for a restaurant/café? They look small! Good vocal sound?
It should be fine for a small restaurant/cafe, with seating for 100 or under. If the space is larger than that then youcould step up to the XP308i:

yes it is great. i used it for keyboard with a vocals. atlease 100 people its ok.
Gang how's the base response are they tinny treble??
