Beautiful!
Thanks for watching, Wendell!
Beautiful
Thanks for watching!
Great looking and well working daggers... Very nice 😍😉😉😉
Thanks for checking them out! ❤️
Awesome knives, fantastic workmanship! If I may make a few suggestions in hindsight, If you drilled the (2) holes for the scales you could have bolted them together to profile them.
I would have omitted the other holes in the handle (you could have drilled into them just as though you were doing a rain drop pattern you could have used clear lucite scales so that the entire Damascus pattern of the knife would be visible.
Thanks for checking out this build.
Really nice knifes👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻💪🏻
Thanks for taking a look, Greg!
I so want a set of these
Thanks for checking them out!
Looks amazing! You killed that melon!
I would also love watching you build some sort of viking seax(old english for knife as I heard). I think it would look cool with a damascus pattern.
Stay tuned, Paul! A Viking seax is an upcoming project!
FABULOUS AWESOME!!!!!!
Thanks for checking out the build, Cory!
Damn those are gorgeous and stealthy
Thanks for checking them out!
WOW!!! They look LETHAL!!
Thanks for checking them out. These were sold to a body guard. 😉
Those are very pretty and extremely good at what they do, which is unfortunately why I cant make any, theyre illegal to even own in the UK like balisongs and shuriken ...brass knuckles and the knuckle daggers too...not even as wall hangers.
So as much as I would like to...no can do.
So I will havev to appreciate yours at a distance ...thanks Denis for some very impressive work
Thanks for checking them out, even if from afar, Talabavin!
wow .. very nice
Thanks for watching!
just a small tips for your paper design pattern you can use a criscut or a portrait 2 it s cut the paper perfectely thanks for the many tips you give
Thanks for watching and providing some tips.
beautiful creation. I wanted to know if they are for sale I intend to buy them
I just wanted to say that your blade will kill
The blade looks amazing and I wish I could make blades myself. But, I take on way to many different projects and hobbies so I'll enjoy and do my best to learn how they're made so I can in some way enjoy the craft without taking on the hobby itself. Thank you for making these wonderful videos and I hope you continue to make more masterpieces
I'll certainly be making more cool blades! When my Journeyman test is out of the way in June, then I'll be back to really cool damascus projects! Stay tuned!
Etching in coffee huh? Thats pretty cool.
Coffee makes the blacks much blacker. 👍. Thanks for watching!
Nice!
Thanks for taking a look!
i love the way you explain everything i love it ❤️ , and i was hoping when u put them on coffee for 2 hours to test their hardness again to see if the hot water affect on the hardness of the steal , and on last thing , why u hearted them in the electronic furnace not in to gas furnace ? pardon my language I'm from Algeria so 🤷🏻 i know you'll understand
Hot water is far below the temperature they were tempered at so it would never affect the hardness. The oven is much more accurate than the forge so it’s much better to heat treat in there. Thanks for watching!
I would love to make one of these Daggers. Unfortunately I live in Australia and would face serious jail time for just owning one. Good video and great daggers. Cheers
Yeah, you guys and the UK have some pretty stiff knife laws for sure. Thanks for watching though!
I use the cherry red G10 from Alpha, and it shows up a nice solid red on black.
I’ll have to check that out. Thanks, Nick!
It's a wonderful push dagger and a poor watermelon~! 😁👍
It was fun though! Thanks for checking them out!
The answer to my question may be obvious and I'm just brainfarting, but doesn't the weld "contaminate" the material? I'm guessing there is a very specific wire/stick you use to minimize this.
The part that is being welded is cut off or ground off so it doesn’t really affect the look of the Damascus. That’s why I usually only weld the ends. Thanks for watching!
These look amazing!! I watched the video where you made the sheaths for these and you mentioned they were sold. How much does a finished set cost??
Thanks for checking them out. For pricing questions, please email tyrellknifeworks at gmail.
Beautiful build, only thing I think that would have made them better was either damascus pins or copper or brass pins to give it a little pop against the dark scales.
Thanks for taking a look. I wanted the pins to blend on this one. I do copper pins a lot so I wanted something different.
Great looking knives man. Have you ever thought about grinding the handles before glue up and then etching and then gluing them so you get the damascus running all the way around the perimeter of the knife? I feel like it would add so much more to the knife especially since you make the damascus yourself. You want to show it off all the way around!
This is actually the first knife where I haven’t etched the edge. I usually do but thought I’d go another way this time. You don’t need to grind it separately, just etch it with a qtip. Thanks for watching.
@@TyrellKnifeworks I almost exclusively use screws for my handles but i did have one knife where i tried the q tip thing and i just didn't feel like it was as deep and even as throwing the whole thing in a tub of ferric chloride haha. it may have just been the damascus though cause i don't have the tools to make my own yet.
Can't wait until he announces he's taking commissions 😅
I occasionally do commissions if it’s something I haven’t done and it would make a good video. Thanks for watching!
Would be nice to see the blades between each etching step.
I am planning an in video on finishing Damascus in the future. Watch for that one. 👍
Bad ass!
Thanks for checking them out, Chris!
What’s up TK I’m 35 yrs old and I’ve never worked with any type of metal or machinery BUT I really want to get into bladesmithing. I was a chef for 11 years and love art as well. Do you think it’s too late to learn or no ? I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your work brotha Stay Blessed 🙏🏼
Well, I'm 51 and started just over 3 years ago never working any type of metal or machinery either! I think you have tons of time. 😜 Start by watching my Beginner Series playlist if you want to learn the basics. Thanks for watching!
can I buy some from you, they look really good
These are still available. Check my website (link in every video description). Thanks for watching!
the narrator sounds just like the guy from a cooking video channel lol
Well I can’t say I’ve been on the cooking channel yet, but who knows! Thanks for watching, Dax.
at 3:00 you used an angle grinder, it it easier to cut red hot steel than cold steel?
It is easier to cut hot steel than cold, but I do it mostly because I don’t want to wait for it to cool. 😜 Thanks for watching!
Awesome. Where can I get a set?
Sorry, I’m not taking custom orders. Maybe next year. Thanks for watching
What would you charge for a Damascus Bowie and what would it take to get one from you?
Sorry John, I don't do custom orders. What I make for the UA-cam channel goes on sale first to my Patreon members and then to the public if its not purchased. For pricing questions, email me at tyrellknifeworks @ gmail or msg me on instagram. Thanks for watching!
I hope i can buy that pair of push dagger, i love blades but i cannot afford to buy any cuz im still a student
Those are already for sake to my Patreon members. If they are still available next week, they’ll be open to the public. Thanks for checking out the build.
Gorgeous build Ty ! Congrats !!
In my oppinion the logo should be .. printed.. with the tail of the shark to handle side and teeth to the cutting edges. No offense pleease ! Just.... my point of view, only for a dangerous look...rrrrrrrrrrrr.
I am sure that many of your subscribers have the same question on there lips : how much would cost if we want to buy a pair of damascus push daggers ? ... no doubt, made by your self of course. If i will get an answer, i will be sure you are reading all the comments below. Thank you so much !
For the rest ... only RESPECT & CONSIDERATION !!!
Thanks for checking them out, Sorin. This pair will be for sale to my Patreon members today, you can check there for the price. Thanks for watching!
The surgical devastation of the watermelon was nuts 🤯
Sometimes you just have a bad melon... and he needs to be dealt with. 🤣🤣
Why does the scale form? I mean when ur pressing them, why doesn't it just re attaches with the rest
Whenever hot steel above about 1500 degrees is exposed to air, it oxidizes abs forms scale. There’s no way around it. Borax flux is used to coat the billet to help protect it from air contacting it. Thanks for watching.
Can you ask a question? To prevent adhesion of Damascus tanks, can stainless steel tanks be used directly?
Sorry, adhesion of what to Damascus? I don’t quite understand what you’re asking.
I believe he is inquiring about canister Damascus?
Ohh.. thanks @Crusaderjoe52.. I get the question now. Yes, I do in fact use stainless tube for canisters and it works amazingly well. I'm going to do a canister again sometime in the first half of next year. 👍🏻
@@TyrellKnifeworks I'm sorry I used Google Translate. I also said that iron cans are generally used to make Damascus tanks. Can I use stainless steel tanks directly? I don't know if I can understand the translation this time.
@@crusaderjoe52 Thank you, I am indeed asking about the material used
Why don't knife makers use sand blast cabinets to remove scale?
Some do. I don’t have one, but wish I did. Not sure I have room for one though.
18:44 Imagine drinking that in the morning...
I think it would eat the inside of your stomach. 😬. Thanks for watching!
How much? I need these push daggers
Sorry, these were sold a while ago. Thanks for watching.
What a unique way to carve a watermelon.
Thanks for checking it out, Trent. It was an evil watermelon and needed to be taken care of. 😜
I love pushdaggers, sad they are banned in my country canada
I’m also Canadian, but I live in California now. I wasn’t aware they were banned back home. Thanks for watching!
I saw this on the site, but man $550 is a lot to spend for me. Looks great though.
These are already sold. Thanks for watching.
🔥😍⚒
Thanks for watching!
why machine in a fuller?
Why not? If you want a very precise fuller, it’s easier and more precise to mill it in. Grinding in a 1/4” radius fuller is very difficult and look bad. Trying to forge it in looks even worse. If you’re s purist and think you must forge everything, that’s antiquated thinking. The end result is what counts. Thanks for watching.
I hope you're wearing a respirator. and eye protection.when your grinding anything..
Yes, don't worry I use my PPE's. Thanks for watching.
Have you ever tried to make a sword?
I’ve made two swords, the Spartan sword from the movie 300 and a wakizashi. Both have videos if you look back in my library. My next build is an elvish sword as well. Thanks for watching.
@@TyrellKnifeworks Noooooo!!! Spoiler
But thanks
23:33 overall....it will kill
Watermelons all over the world are terrified of them! 😜 Thanks for watching!
Those look awesome!!! I hate watermelon was glad to see one get sliced up!😂 It’s crazy how well coffee works!
Kim was disappointed she didn’t get to eat any of the watermelon. It needed to die though. 🤣
Beautiful as usual!! When I see how well coffee does at etching, it makes me wonder what it’s doing to our bodies, ugh!
Ha, yeah no kidding! This coffee is about 20x stronger though. 😜
Stomach acid has a ph of around 3, so coffee doesn’t really touch that. I think coffee sits around 5 on the ph scale as normally drank
