For strategems, is the key mapping you can change your map for strategems input to the arrow keys so you can keep moving any direction while inputting them. Further you change the strategems key bind from HOLD to a press. So when you hit control it opens and stays open until you input or do a few other things to cancel it. This allows you to keep running in any direction. I haven’t tried yet but you can probably do the same to the run key so you don’t have to hold it down
At lvl 19, so far the Gatling Barrage is my favorite. The ability of unlimited use, EVERY 80sec vs the robots drop ships & packs is addicting. It’s always recharged in your back pocket & a nice wave clearing salvo when you’re fleeing and they’re stalking you. I can use it 2 to 3 times per heavy battle & when it gets 8 kills at a time you know it’s putting in work if you miss, no biggie, it’ll be back in 80 seconds.
A tip for PC players, remap your stratagem keys to your arrow keys or somewhere else that works for you (if your mouse and keyboard). This will allow you to enter them while moving at any time. Most PC players will stop to use stratagems because it is co-mapped to the movement keys. if you have an MMO mouse (10 or 12 button) map them to the side of your mouse. but you can't shoot while using strats anyways so taking your hand off the mouse to use a separate set of keys on your keyboard should not be a huge deal.
I can't even count the amount of times I see pc players die because they stop to use a stratagem. This is a really great tip for pc players to level up your game.
Great infor tq, even though im lvl 39. Yes I still stop moving and using strategym. Just a fast type wasd. I didn't know I could move while using stratagems.
I know what a lot of ppl were doing also is remapping the up and down to their side buttons on their mouse and leaving left and right to w & d. Then you can still move forward and be able to look backwards while running
You failed to mention that the Orbital Laser strategem has limited uses per mission. It can only be used up to three times in a mission, and becomes unavailable after that. in many cases, if you're worried about Bile Titans or Tanks, the Orbital Railgun is generally more effective. The Orbital Railgun has a shorter cooldown and it has unlimited uses.
and the salvo upgrade gives 380mm walking or 360 area barrages additional 3 shots, laser beam lasts idk around 5-10 seconds longer and gattling strike lasts about 5 or 7 seconds longer
On PC, always always always remap strategem key bindings. Unless you are a helldiver 1 vet and have memorised EVERY single strategem and can call even lengthy ones within 0.5s.
I don’t know if it’s the case on console but on PC at least while using a controller I couldn’t move forward while inputting stratagems either. I could move no problem when I went back to mouse and keyboard.
On the ps5 i set push to talk on the hold R1 button to call big bombs out through the mic on controller. Quick callouts using the controller mic works great for emergency situations like airstirkes danger close and enemies sneaking up behind squad.
I didnt realise the orbital strikes actually come from your ship and not just randomly from above. What a nice touch. Also can we confirm that when you on your ship and you see all those other ships in orbit, are those actually real players?
It’s confirmed by developer during their discord chat,those indeed are other players ships,all those stratagem that were summon you saw outside your ship are in real time not scripted as well,when you look down from the the orbit of your ship to the surface,you could actually see those stratagem blue and red lightings being summoned as well,cool little details ,very mental indeed !!
The EMS mortar is just better than the orbital strike imo. A huge amount of volleys and auto tragets obviously. And have to completely disagree on the Gatling. Eagle strikes are just way better.
I feel like all stratagems should be targeted by a laser marker or something like that, because the physics of the small "beacon" are too random and bouncy, also it makes targeting at larger distances almost impossible. I wish we could just spot a big group of enemies, and target them from afar, since all powerful orbital barrages take 5+ seconds to arrive. Throwing them from small distance almost always makes the group of enemies move aside, and half of the barrage will just miss. I hope we see some upgrade or a tool that allows you to use stratagems from 50 meters or so.
does anyone know why does support strategems like guard dog rover, auto cannon, etc, takes longer to land now? it used to be like 5 seconds or less... now its double digit seconds to land.
@@kuatiogui that will happen when the timer runs out for the mission. Then you get a new timer for extraction but no revive nothing no stratagems. Hope that helps!
My favorite orbital definitely has to be The Orbital Railgun its ability to kill anything from a charger to a bile titan with near perfect accuracy is fantastic
i prefer the eagle 110mm rocketpod, while it has lesser damage than the single shot orbital railcannon strike(210sec cooldown i think) you get more charges for heavy armour targets which i value more on diff8 and 9 when it feels like there are constantly at least 2 bile titans at any given moment (my group killed 8 bile in a 12mins timeframe)
@@chasing3suns if you're talking about the orbital laser that lasts for awhile and autotracks and not orbital railcannon that is a single instance of laser yes its strong but no, there are only 3 uses per team, not per player, per team so only 1 person runs it and if you were referring to orbital railcannon, 210sec cool down when there are 4 chargers and 2 bile titan that spawns together is too long of a cool down on diff8 and 9

The walking barrage gets way better once you get the more guns upgrade, can take out medium bug nests

Yeah the eagle strikes are really good as well, you really can't go wrong with either.
Ems + gas on a breach is pretty cool 😎 given both strats recharge in 75-80 seconds, you will always have them handy when a bug breach appears

On controller try inputting while looking backwards, doing that worked for me.

I wouldn’t waste stratagems on bile spewers because if you equip yourself with impact grenades you can kill them in one shot 95% of the time

I never thought that the other ships you see could be other players. I think that's probably not the case but it would be so cool if it was.

The EMS mortar is really good as well, to be honest you really can't go wrong with both.
Why not use both?
You can move and input strategems on controller and pc and look forward while doing it.

Some planets will have a world debuff like that takes twice as long to call things and sometimes takes twice as long to cool down

Im only level 8, but so far most of them seem useless and destroying armored enemies is almost impossible.
That bug is just you my friend. I can input commands wherever I'm looking at.
You're doing way too much when the charger runs at you. All you need to do is choose a side and run right past them.

A tip for cheating pc players if you use 4 mortars I’m reporting you I’m sick of the cheaters
