Thanks Mr. Jenson. I tie one similar to this for shellcracker. Not sure if you know what a shellcracker is but here in the states it is in the Bream family of sun fish and it is a species that fights really hard for its size and is a delicious table fare. Anyway I tie one that is 1/32 ounce that represents a very small crayfish. I make the eyes out of 14 pound mono and use a lighter to melt the ends I to a ball. I have had fantastic results with this particular jig. I learned this pattern from you and modified it to my needs. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us viewers and thanks for the outstanding videos. Love everything about your channel.
Thanks a lot, Alex. I had to check that shellcracker - they are beautiful fish. Must be fun to catch on light tackle. Mono eyes are great for these flies. I make my own as well, when I'm not lazy and use these pre made eyes. Cheers, Michael :0)
I actually bought a ( roughly ) 3 (Danish) krown hairbrush and just cut off the " pins/combing " things and got about a 60-75 "eyes" that way. Saved a bunch.
I love this shrimp version but have no pink but I am going to try it in olive to attract our native fish here in Australia...Thanks for your presentation Michael..
Beautiful jighead Fly. .thank you for making this so very helpful. . Hope you make more another jigFly Shrimp sir. . Bcoz i use it too in my saltwater fishing. 😊
You worked that jig like a puppeteer :o) Awesome bit of tying Michael. Those spey hackle fibers really flow, and I think those eyes seal the deal. Isn't Bird Fur the same as their Spey Hackle? Thanks my friend.
Thanks Joe. Those Whiting spey hackles are cool, but expensive. You are right, Bird Fur is kind of the same stuff. Actually it is a low grade byproduct of the Spey hackle production. More affordable and for a lot of flies and jigs just as good or better. Won't do for real classic Spey and Dee salmon flies though - but for this jig, Woolly Buggers, Soft Hackle Streamers and that kind of things they are perfect. Cheers, Michael :0)
That’s an awesome shrimp jig!
Thanks a lot, Sheldon. Cheers, Michael :0)

Hi Brian. Thanks for your feedback. Olive probably will make a better imitation of most shrimps, so that should work fine. Tight lines, Michael :0)
AMAZING! Can't wait to try this! Fall Chinook is slowing down, but I have all off-season to practice!
Thanks for the feedback my friend. Think your Chinooks are gonna love it. Cheers, Michael :0)
