- On April 19, five Japanese nationals escaped unhurt from a suicide bombing in Pakistan's Karachi city. Pakistani police officials say they were able to thwart the attack when a suicide bomber attempted to blow himself up near them. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
