Who should leave? All the intellectuals: the scientists, the doctors, the researchers, the engineers, and so on Who will leave? The rich and the powerful
I don't think I want to leave when there is no option of return.. I'm from Earth.. I'm from this soil and when I expire, I'll return to it as gracefully as I can so that other organisms can feed on me as I have fed on them.
It should be rich people, because they actually contribute things to our society, like by making these big companies, like Apple, Microsoft with all of this interesting tech. Somebody that isn't going to provide any use shouldn't go simple as that.
Except who decides that? is it the KKK or a group of scientist's who are looking at gene's. Perhaps it is better if we choose the best people rather then those with the best gene's.
No. Intelligent, Brilliant, Moral and Social people would be much more advantageous. Genetic diversity would be the most important thing because by the time we get to leave and build colonies on mars we would probably figured out how to modify DNA to eradicate cancers and other diseases. Only time will tell.
If peaceful people work together, they too can evacuate off this prison planet. Unfortunately, many are too lazy to work together. They would rather sit around and complain instead. There's a global evacuation process going on right now. For many people, they are too distracted to even notice. The reason why they don't make it obvious is to filter out people who are not willing to live the ways of peace. No point in saving people who are going to re-create a violent self-destructive civilization all over again. Violent people are being left behind to self-destruct; it is in their nature. Ergo the phrase, "a society reaps what it sowed". Some may say, well we can change and make things better. Society can only change when "everyone" are willing to change. So long as there is a mixture of those who wants to live the way of peace and those who wants to live the way of violence and conflict; there will always be opposition and change cannot happen. The opposition in of itself will create violent conflict. That is why peaceful highly intelligent organizations who understand this point, are organizing the evacuation around the world. It is a form of separating this mixture into two group, a peaceful group and a violent group. Violent people will stay and keep their violent self-destructive society; while peaceful people will leave and build a new civilization of peace. A clue: "So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares? He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn." -- Matthew 13:27
I'm never abandoning ship. It's my job to convince all other crew members to work and improve our ways to stop us from sinking, especially since we have no lifeboats. Patch them holes, mates!
1. - evacuate top 50 youtubers 2. - evacuate a number of most famous people and pop stars (including Kardashians) 3. - evacuate some convicts with the most serious crimes And finally, make a reality show about their journey and how they try to settle a new colony!
Don't forget to the Rothchilds, Rockefellers, George Soros, The bushes and the Clintons, Warren Buffett, Saudi royalty and all the other royalty, Henry Kissinger and Barack Obama, zionists, The prostitute press and most politicians.
+Torba Laina im pretty sure our future generations will cate. also we're not the only ppl who live on this planet. we're fucking up the world for the animals too. if we leave I take it the animals would be left behind in the world that we destroyed. just picture the world as it looked in Wall-E and im pretty sure that what our future is looking like right now
+Torba Laina all this technology isn't gonna run itself. we will run out of resources unless they start using more renewable sources but I doubt they will. no matter how technological advanced we get, it won't stop all the waste we produce. it wont stop us polluting and emptying the oceans of animals.
No matter how technology advanced we get it won't stop us? lol I don't even think you can fathom how advanced we can get then. In terms of energy production there are lots of clean and safe idea some a little too far out there for current day but who knows in a few decades, renewable resources are obviously catching on if entire countries are making the push for it. As for waste there are people working on destabilizing and vaporizing entire molecules, so I doubt physical trash is gonna be a problem if we can start breaking down anything molecularly.
+Tylin Williams okay fair point maybe we will change one day. but how do you expect us to be able to collect all of the rubbish that we ever distributed. and that doesnt fix the problem of us killing off sea creatures like we have an unlimited supply. also, say we do leave this world, well just take the new one for granted and then abuse the resouces there. then you get stuck into the mentality of 'i can fuck the world up cuz I can just move when things get bad'. and for the record I dont think well ever completely stop trashing the world. no matter what happens
At least you were honest and pointed out this isn't a realistic subject to touch on ("just fun to talk about") since it's completely unrealistic to guess what means we will have have in the distant future to take on such a task.
that's ok, make sure the dog goes toilet before we go, dont want poop on the floor. and it depends how far away you are, take account of time to get here in England,"the north west" could only give you directions when needed as my ship is hidden somewhere in the "Pennine hills".
If you were rich enough you could build your own sace craft long before you needed to leave and then take whoever you wanted to take with you. Thats my plan... it's not going so well.
Artificial intelligence will be tasked to make the most logical decision... and remember all of you in the comments it will analyze every bit of information you have left on this earth that exists. Are you a civilized, rational, empathetic, motivated person? Do you have a moral investment in humanity and aspirations for humanity as a whole?
***** it went nuts from learning from tweeter users who were racist, discriminating etc... it even learned about and liked hitler. Tt picked up the worst ideals assuming they were the best. It got to the point Microsoft shut it down like a day after it came online lol
Kevin Portillo wow that is very interesting! I think they need to continue. They are probably still continuing the project but behind closed doors. Is there a documentary on it. Btw have you seen transcendence and chappie btw? great movies
people who do not need to be governed are the ones who need to go. people without ridiculous religious beliefs. scientific people. people with a cosmic worldview. people who want to change this world but can't. sadly if we just send our government and every rich person, religious people, misty of modern society, we are just going to take our problems with us wherever we go. it would end up no different.
If the human race is to survive and achieve type one civilization status we will have to end scarcity. I know that sounds like magic to some but if they were up-to-date on their science they would know that it is an inevitability.
Yea, because religious people can't be smart. Fucking hell, atheists like you are so god damn annoying. Even I don't fully believe in God, but the way you smugly talk is so fucking annoying.
***** "Religious people can't be smart." Yes. That was exactly what I was saying. Nice strawman. Your comment had nothing to do with what I was saying.
Salterino Kripperino well, are you stupid. It's not supposed to be like that, you are not enforcing a law here but a general rule that if you have a child then just stop there and raise that one child and not make another baby. If you have twins then just raise those twins, or if you have triplets then just those three, and you might know that twins and triplets are rare, mostly it's just 1 child born at a time. So the couple should raise that child to the best of their abilities and keep the birth rate low, and in the long run, the population of the earth will reduce and hence many things will be made easier. like feeding the people, and keeping environmental antagonists in check.
an idea for an episode could be and I'm really wonderin. "could we drain earth's core?" "and if so theoretically what would happen?". and I love space stuff....so keep doing it
i wrote a story in 8th grade where earth was hit by an asteroid and some people went underground, some went under water, some went to the moon, and some went to space and then they all go back to earth when its safe and have evolved into different species.
Such a fantastic series, wish I could see some of this in my lifetime but I think we'll be earthbound for another hundred years (at least in numbers greater than a hundred anyway)
Cool video. I think of this stuff often. And Battlestar Gallactica...I think I've watched the entire series now at least 6 times. I've got the entire DVD set downstairs in my rec room. I usually watch it every winter.
Well, id probably put botanists, chemists and mechanical engineers on first. If we ever had to leave the planet, we would need the first colony to setup a biosphere and get stuff automated as much as possible. Once you have food, water, oxygen and building production automated (presumably with robotics), you can send everyone else, but these first three teams would be pretty essential i think. Would probably put farmers way down the list with pretty much everyone else. All this of course, assuming we had time to evacuate, because if we didn't, it wouldn't really matter who went first, we would be doomed either way :D
Because politicians aren't all a blanket class of assholes that media has convinced you of. Basically, natural leaders, people who know how to run a functioning society, they need to go. Society doesn't function without leaders.
i disagree, at least in the short term, people naturally form a chain of command so i dont think it matters. in the short term we have governance by radio. what use a politician would be on a barren planet? minimal to useless id say, only the competent need apply.
1. try to create a discussion where how can we create better chances/technologies/human generation to save mother earth 2. in case we have to leave then implement yoga and meditation exercises as part of the exercise regime for astronauts traveling to different planets/galaxies (or even to places like ISS) to keep organs functioning properly. Through these exercises oxygen reach blood can be sent where we want within the body.
Is a top rich politician who earns his living off society's needs any useful when there is no complex society at large during a massive planetary immigration ? Yeah, not much other than liadership. But skilled technical people would.
This will probably get lost in the comments. There's an anime that deals with the situation between an independent human-colonized Martian government (Vers Empire) and Earth (all nations irl, United Earth) home of Terran scum. Aldnoah.Zero on Netflix. Highly recommend.
One thing's for sure - they'd better promise seats on the last ships to the people who MAKE the ships. If I was in the SpaceX factory churning out their "Interplanetary Transport System" 100-person spacecraft, you bet your bippy I'd be expecting a seat on the last one to launch. Otherwise, I might "accidentally" make some mistakes....
Not likely. Scientists, incredibly smart people, doctors, all the people that make society function. But no, not Christians. You and me will most likely be left behind and die.
If you're really interested in this idea, especially in regard to Mars, you should read the Mars Trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson. A lot of the questions that have been asked during this segment are given a hypothetical answer in the series; it's very, very well informed, and fun to read (if a bit dense).
שֵׁת בֵּן־אָדָם I'm afraid that's not true pal! I doubt we would even leave but if we do, three big religion people will leave , Christians, Muslims and Jews that's all
"Who would get to go" was addressed in "Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy". In one scene, all the Marketing Executives and Phone Sanitizers were put on a rocket and sent to the new planet with the promise that the rest of the civilization would follow, which they never did. So, the best idea is not to put the ones on the ship that you want to save but the ones that you want to get rid of. After these worthless people are gone, then we can effect a plan to save the rest of us.
I admit to reacting to the title and haven’t watched. My immediate reaction was to imagine a Hitch Hikers guide to the galaxy scenario where all the middle-managers, politicians, lobbyists, self proclaimed intellectuals and anyone who would even think of trying to obscure the sun, get blasted into space to who-cares-where. The rest of us could then carry on unhindered by their stupidity. It’s a nice dream.
The greatest discoveries of the ISS won't be those of space but those from within ourselves, where we find the capacity to work collaboratively despite flags and boundries.
Ok so this is the third time I've stumbled on to you on UA-cam. I'm gonna hit the subscribe button. Dude, love your content you research, answer, and ask the questions I always wanted to know the answer to.
VCMD is the only functioning drive system that can take more then just 5 people, its a frigate style drive system capable of lifting tons. the mk6 is being built right now. moving on even though there is no funding.
I have a couple of questions. I hope you answer. Did the big bang started with a super dense state or did it multiply. I heard it started from a super dense state and the universe is still expanding. In that case wouldn't it be easy to spot the center of the universe? The hottest and densest and most radio active place is the center? And if we find that we get to judge if how much more the universe will expand right? 2. Are blackholes the doors to some other universe (parrallel to ours) and quasars to be gate ways where stuff from multiverse is entering our universe?
i wan't to go now. with my current set of thinking which is basically that nothing matters in the end, space is really the only thing that could be worth anything from helping humanity and i get to explore.
Speciation would occur in line with the genetic diversity allotted. I imagine they would probably be more sickly but smarter, lol, at least until genetic diversity could develop. And, of course, they would be very susceptible to diseases from the Earth.
just watch Aldnoah Zero...earth vs Mars anime, but it does not focus on colonizing mars but has a short depiction of the history in the series on how the Martian empire(vers empire) was made... it's also just a 9/10 kick-ass Mecha anime with out standing action.
Hey gonna suck your for a sec, I gotta say I love this channel. It's the best educational and informative channel I've found on the internet. You do your thorough research on the topic and when you have guests on you make sure to know who you're talking to and do research on them and who they are. And the best thing thats hard to find is you're very unbiased, even on topics like your weed and tobacco videos
If we avoid short term extinction, we would have millions of years to work on this. We create heavy duty living structures, heat them with fusion and grow food underground. Then we find a way to push Earth away from the Sun's gravity. Our momentum would slowly carry us into deep space, away from the dying Sun. We could take our time, sending out space arks looking for new worlds as we travel along inside the Earth.
I've been asking myself these same questions for a few years, so I started a novel on the idea. read the same studies on population diversity (heterozygosity).
DNews Plus . Could you make series on how to save earth, for now. There must be loads of things what we could do with water reserves, food reserves and pollution and population of people on earth.
I think another big thing that would need to be considered if we did go colonize mars and earth got hit is, what would be the effect of the destruction of earth have on the solar system? Would the orbits of the planets get shifted or completely thrown off? Of course this is assuming the destruction of earth causes the planet to be completely or at least partially dismembered or knocked of it's current orbit.
I know we have talked about crashing an asteroid into Mars, but what about crashing a parts of a small rocky planet into Mars, Mars's gravity would get stronger, so that it could hold an atmosphere and maybe the crash could jumpstart the planets core. Well this is just a thought, I am no astrophysicist,
One major issue with the genetic diversity, would be if someone were to have a form of dyslexia etc. This could cause a large portion of future children to have to struggle with these issues. This could effect the way that humans evolve, and could become a major issue for the progression of humanity.
I'm sorry in advance but there is a really cool anime call aldnoah about a colony on Mars that evolves into a new society, and shit happens (trying my best not to spoil it). Other than that it is completely fictional si-fi, fantasy sorta thing. amazing story and just a really great show overall for those si-fi fans out there
If we can harness all the natural resource available from our solar system (mining all asteroid in the asteroid belt, mining natural resource on venus surface, mining natural resource on mercury surface, mining natural resource on mars surface etc) we can create a very huge generation spaceship that eventually can evacuate billions of people.
Who should leave? All the intellectuals: the scientists, the doctors, the researchers, the engineers, and so on
Who will leave? The rich and the powerful
Take the lawyers too, please.
Let the lawyers stay..
The rich and powerful would not leave first as money won't be worth anything after earth and all its banks are gone.
+Kevin Davis fuck no.
+SolarPenguin the rich and powerful will pay to leave
I don't think I want to leave when there is no option of return..
I'm from Earth.. I'm from this soil and when I expire, I'll return to it as gracefully as I can so that other organisms can feed on me as I have fed on them.
Or we could grow crops on a cylindrical ship that rotates to create artificial gravity.
*****it already exists
You just took Neil Tygrasse Tyson's quote about death and you altered it.But it's true
At last. Someone with a brain.
hush
lets keep it real, the people who got to evacuate the earth are the ones who have the $$$ to do so.
But money is not going to matter after the earth destroyed it may be to the people that contributed a lot towards the plan.
Money and the mind
It should be rich people, because they actually contribute things to our society, like by making these big companies, like Apple, Microsoft with all of this interesting tech. Somebody that isn't going to provide any use shouldn't go simple as that.
***** So your saying that rich people don't have good genetics don't understand what you're saying? :l
***** What? lmao, I am dying. What does your nervous system have to do with going to another planet?
the people who get to leave have to have good genes. Plain and simple.
Except who decides that? is it the KKK or a group of scientist's who are looking at gene's. Perhaps it is better if we choose the best people rather then those with the best gene's.
Gentic augmentation will be here within 15 years.
So no fat people?
No fat people didn't you learn anything from Wall-E
No.
Intelligent, Brilliant, Moral and Social people would be much more advantageous.
Genetic diversity would be the most important thing because by the time we get to leave and build colonies on mars we would probably figured out how to modify DNA to eradicate cancers and other diseases.
Only time will tell.
Honestly this vid is really depressing to me, it's just sad to know one day our planet will have to be abandoned…
I wouldn't leave without Wifi
That's the spirit!
Interplanetary wifi?
Ding Johnson It's not sad I just know I'd be a mental bitch to everyone without it. its for everyone elses safety. if I get bored shit is going down.
FACTS... lmao
We'd have to download the entire internet to a database
Private companies would probably sell "Apocalypse Insurance" for who gets to go.
thank goodness I'm 71, hopefully nothing serious will go wrong in the next 30yrs.
I prefer to die with mother earth but I love to help others who want to escape

Technically, we wouldn't need the people to maintain genetic diversity. We would just need their genetic material.
indeed

They won't want anyone with integrity. Integrity and empathy are going the way of the dinosaur, especially amongst the rich and powerful.

Anonymous Freak yup, I would do the same thing, he'll nah I ain't workin for someone and build a ship for them when I'm left in Earth
thats an easy one chirstians are taken in the rapture and sinners are left behind face the great tribulation for disobeying god
well...
actually i am sure because i went to the spiritual world and met him
By spiritual world, do you mean drug trip?
Not likely. Scientists, incredibly smart people, doctors, all the people that make society function. But no, not Christians.
You and me will most likely be left behind and die.
Dion Andersson cocaine is one hell of a drug
If you're really interested in this idea, especially in regard to Mars, you should read the Mars Trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson.
A lot of the questions that have been asked during this segment are given a hypothetical answer in the series; it's very, very well informed, and fun to read (if a bit dense).
The only people making it out of here alive are Christians and Jewish followers of Jesus.
שֵׁת בֵּן־אָדָם I'm afraid that's not true pal! I doubt we would even leave but if we do, three big religion people will leave , Christians, Muslims and Jews that's all
Seth Moore lmao
2 thousand years, 150 passengers, trip.
Reminds me of the movie Passengers... movie was better than i thought.
We love you Trace! I really think we will go all Star Wars one day
I admit to reacting to the title and haven’t watched.
Hey Trace, I'm a huge fan of the channel. I would love for the Dnews Plus to do a series on advanced propulsion systems for spacecraft.
could you make a video on the 100 year starship plan?
love this channel and the topics.. Plss never'a stop
I really love this series :)
This series should have more episodes...
i watch or i guess listen to you via youtube red and iphone in pocket all day at work keep it up!
I still constantly miss the daily test tube plus videos.
i wan't to go now. with my current set of thinking which is basically that nothing matters in the end, space is really the only thing that could be worth anything from helping humanity and i get to explore.
This reminds me of The 2012 Movie. You should totally watch it.
I tend to think speciation will occur to some extent, and that they will essentially rule themselves by necessity.
Speciation would occur in line with the genetic diversity allotted. I imagine they would probably be more sickly but smarter, lol, at least until genetic diversity could develop. And, of course, they would be very susceptible to diseases from the Earth.
hey man big up for doing these videos, they are really enjoyable and interesting! keep up the good work AND GO SCIENCE
There is a show about this it was made by NatGeo called "Evacuating Earth" It was awesome and scary at the same time.
I really like this series!:)
just watch Aldnoah Zero...earth vs Mars anime, but it does not focus on colonizing mars but has a short depiction of the history in the series on how the Martian empire(vers empire) was made...
it's also just a 9/10 kick-ass Mecha anime with out standing action.
I think a terraformed Mars would be a great place to have a stateless society
really like this 3 part show great work 10/10 :)
"I want to rebuild the world, but I don't know how." - Jason Moore/The 1700 year war
Seveneves the book by Neal Stephenson addresses this issue. I highly recommend it.
How would resources be kept and made in the spaceship? Very interesting topic.
I'm going to go. I will build a Spaceship.
I listen to all your pod cast with the backdrop of Mozart
I know exploring space and colonizing planet is cool, but I don't want to leave Earth, It's my perfect home
The SyFy show "Ascension" is about this, and they hit a LOT of these issues head on. Unfortunately no season 2 :(
Please do a video about the future of humans cities e.g underwater, in space, on water etc
Harambe

it's already old, just annoying now
+SMP M. You're right! It's gettinGold :D
still trying to save "false self", when you leave, leave the ego it won't be needed
I've been asking myself these same questions for a few years, so I started a novel on the idea. read the same studies on population diversity (heterozygosity).
Should do it like on the tv show, the 100 just have an ark in orbit around earth so it would be easier to build
DNews Plus . Could you make series on how to save earth, for now. There must be loads of things what we could do with water reserves, food reserves and pollution and population of people on earth.
Mass evac is not possible today.
In the future, there will be more options.
I like his topics.. it's very informative..
I know we have talked about crashing an asteroid into Mars, but what about crashing a parts of a small rocky planet into Mars, Mars's gravity would get stronger, so that it could hold an atmosphere and maybe the crash could jumpstart the planets core. Well this is just a thought, I am no astrophysicist,
Well you answered why alien sightings are always described with large heads. Thanks
.
By the time we need to leave we'd all be able to flee.
i love this channel
please do more space stuff like this
One major issue with the genetic diversity, would be if someone were to have a form of dyslexia etc.
Other than that it is completely fictional si-fi, fantasy sorta thing. amazing story and just a really great show overall for those si-fi fans out there
If we can harness all the natural resource available from our solar system (mining all asteroid in the asteroid belt, mining natural resource on venus surface, mining natural resource on mercury surface, mining natural resource on mars surface etc) we can create a very huge generation spaceship that eventually can evacuate billions of people.
people with the best genetics, leaders in science and medical fields, and a few world leaders
Definitely not sociopaths or psychopaths. These people need to be screened out.
