Resonance is what makes your voice have its unique sound quality. Depending on the size and shape of your vocal tract (space inside the throat and mouth) the resonance, or “color”, of the sound will be bright or dark. Larger spaces create a darker/hollow sounds and smaller spaces create a brighter sounds.
