great set ,the 2 year olds are out looking for places to set up a home .you have a spot that will keep paying off . the rut on the beaver and the fighting has them moving . got to love the smell of castor in the morning, dried castor is selling for around 90 bucks a pound clean dried castors makes beaver the cash cow this season . castor mounds set up on the upwind side of this creek inlet will take every beaver that comes through . good luck on the line .
Yup I have all the castor from the ones I've caught saved up in the freezer. I'm headed out over xmas vacation to trap some new areas so I'll be taking it out with me to set a few castor mound sets. I don't think I'll ever get used to the smell of castor and it amazes me the things they put it in lol
Sweet! One of the biggest beavs I ever caught was on a small stretch of creek with very little sign present! He was so big that he swam back to the bank with a 30 lb drowning bag and the trap! I was lucky he got wrapped up around the stake I had on the bank! Best of luck the remainder of the season!
That had to be one big beaver to drag that! I found a few more spots that I’m gonna try where there isn’t much activity going in just to see. I got 4 more today and hopefully more tomorrow. Good luck to you also!
Thanks and yes beaver is one of my favorites, it tastes just like a sweet pot roast if cooked right. I planned on doing one soon. I’ve been waiting until I had someone to run the camera for me so it turns out good. I want something better than a still video shot from a tripod. Thanks for watching!
Great videos sir, thank you for your efforts. I just subscribed. I just moved to Traverse City from Erie PA. I have been eating rodents for a long time, so nice to see someone else who appreciates porcupine, squirrel, beaver. Keep making videos, and I'll keep watching em. I may bump into you someday on the river.
Thank you. Travers city is a really nice place, been there a few times. Did the paddle for pints once and talk about going again to do it. It amazes me how many people don’t eat these creatures but if they’d only give them a try they might actually like them. Thank you for the support!
@@TheHuntForDinner You got it , man. People like you are why I don't even watch TV anymore. The crayfish video was great. Can't wait to throw my trap in the water again. Yeah, the food thing is puzzling. I watch people sitting in line to suck down McChickens. Yuck. I will take frog legs, squirrel, and beaver all week long. Best of luck out there.
You sir have the right idea. I see people going crazy when McDonald’s brings the McRib or something back and I’m just happy to have shot a squirrel. That lobster roll was delicious and I highly recommend you make one! Best of luck in the woods!
