It totally works! It takes a while before they start popping because the water has to evaporate first. Therefore it took 10 minutes before they started to pop but the end result was great! Very delicious :)

Works just fine if you use a microwave safe lid...like silicone...and leave it to one side so the steam can vent a bit. I used large Pyrex bowl and added: 2 TBSP popcorn kernels, 2 TBSP water, and some salt. Then, I put the silicone lid on top, and pulled it to one side so there was a vent. I set my microwave on high for 6 minutes...kernels started to pop after 3 minutes and were done popping 2 minutes later. So, a total of 5 minutes and there was not one burnt kernel...not even a slight smell of anything burned. Was just like air-popped...just done in the microwave. Was probably the best popcorn I've ever had besides air-popped...will do this method from now on!

    Wow! it worked! thank you!
I was skeptical because I couldn't find many recipes like this, but I followed the instructions exactly and it made perfect oil free popcorn!

This actually worked really well. The popcorn doesn't pop until all the water has evaporated and I think I added a bit too much water the first time so it took a while, but we got there in the end. Thanks!

Interesting, but why, when you setting timer on mircovawe and turn it on, appear inside already popped popcorn, it can be seen at 1:43 when timer is at his 9:59.

It worked! I would recommend not to use plastic wrap. Instead, use a microwave proof lead which has holes in it or leave it open just a little so hot air goes out.

I was thrilled to hear that this method worked for so many, so I had to try it! I used my silicone microwave popcorn popper. I add the same amount of water and popcorn, it took about 10 minutes plus but it did pop. Using my normal amount of popcorn did not yield the same, I had about a third less. Yes, it does work and the popcorn is pretty good. 🙂

It's TRUE! Just done mine, it took sometimes to "pop", need to wait till all water evaporated and the end result is good, no burnt. Thank you

It is not fake. I used 1/3 cup kernels to same quantity water, half tsp salt. 10 min at 800 watt in my microwave. It started popping after 5 min. But the cling film melted😂 and all the popcorn popped in the microwave. So, don't use cling film. Put an oven proof lid and bowl.

Tried it and it was delicious! 1/4 cup popcorn kernels, 1/8th cup water 1 t salt. High for 10 minutes. All of you haters out there should have some faith. Mine didn’t start popping until 3 minutes in.

  • @weeooh1

I'm sure it worked for some, but it was mostly burnt for me. I realize some microwaves have higher wattage than others, but that should be mentioned. Mine was a Samsung similar to the one in the vid. At the 9 min mark suspected something was amiss, but the kernels were still poppong. So left a while longer until the popping was almost done (less than 10 min). Took it out and horrible burn smell and half the popcorn was burnt black.
