  • Popcorn can be a healthy snack but microwaveable popcorn or movie popcorn is popped using oil or butter or both! Making popcorn with oil or butter is unnecessary so in this video, I'll show you how to make popcorn without any oil or butter so you can enjoy it guilt-free...like me!
Step 1: Heat up a pot on very low heat and use a cover.
Step 2: Once the pot is hot, put the kernels in.
(Depending on the size of the pot I would recommend testing between 60-100grams to see what works for you)
Step 3: Shake the pot every 60-90 seconds so the kernels don't burn. The popcorn should start popping after 5-10 minutes
Step 4: Once the popping slows down, pay close attention to the popcorn. If no more kernels pop for 5 seconds, it is done.
Step 5: Pour into a bowl and enjoy! (you may add salt, sugar, cinnamon, as you wish)

Dr. Alan Mandell's shorts on "What Popcorn Can Do for Your Body" led me to searching air popped popcorn. It's a healthy snack. I'm thankful I found this vid that doesn't use microwave and keeps the popcorn plain. Perfect for what doc promotes. Really appreciate this. =)

definitely not as good as the ones with oil or butter .. but still thanks alot
For whom it didn't work with , there is 2 factors he didn't mention :
1 - the size of the oventop (don't use the small one) probably close to size of the pot is the key (not sure)
2 - there is a serten type of pot , i think its called non-stick

It works also if you set it to high heat as long as you keep shaking the pan slightly enough for the kernels to be constantly moving.
Once they start popping, lower the heat and keep moving the pan until the popping stops.
Using a microwave is much easier, specially after you figure out the exact amount of time and heat is needed. On a cheap one, 100g kernels should be done popping after 3 and half minutes.
