@@PrepperPotpourri You are so welcome!
It worked beautifully! The only thing is I tried the popcorn button instead of listening to you and only 2 popped, so I listened to you and set it for 3 minutes. It worked! Thank you so much!!!! I like butter, garlic powder, and parmesan cheese on mine. I used a Pyrex microwavable glass storage bowl with a plate on top. It turned out better than making it in the plastic microwave popper I have. I'm kind of getting funny in my old age and am steering away from cooking in microwavable plastic and non-stick coated pans. I guess I must be longing for the past. :D
Just tried the bowl method and omg you're a lifesaver. My husband doesn't want it with butter or oil, making it difficult to make it on the stove.
This isn't diet but works and delicious. For 2 years I used a white 3qt. glass bowl that probably wasn't micro safe and 10" glass plate covered it perfectly. I melted 5 tbs. of butter at 1 minute, 1,100 watt. Stir in 1/2 cup of popcorn, salt, seasoning. Back in micro for about 6 min. and take out with mitts. Place the hot plate on sink to cool and finish salting and stirring with a spoon. Wipe butter off plate with Kleenex. Glass bowl keeps it warm while eating. It finally cracked and just found a used 4 qt. clear glass that is for micro and 10" dia. So this time I placed the butter and popcorn in a smaller 12 oz. glass bowl placed in big bowl to help keep heat off big bowl. Worked perfect, popped faster and about 90% instead of the usual 70%.. I make popcorn twice a week so I wipe it out with paper towels and call it good.
😄you made me happy! Every time you mentioned you and your husband it just put a huge smile on my face! I'm going to start eating popcorn while watching Superman and Lois bc of you!
THANKYOU!!! - THIS is the common sense method I was thinking of! -- simply popping it in a covered glass bowl!!! - no special microwave poppers!!! 👍
I looked this up and found your channel, I'm SOO glad i did.. I ran out of paper bags, but this is so much easier.
THANK YOU!!
Glad I could help!
Honestly, both of those ways are new to me! Yum! I am looking forward to getting the ingredients!
I will be making popcorn this way. Love your channel
Thank you
I don't have a paper bag but I guess I would just use a bowl I don't know
I use the paper bag method but add a teaspoon of coconut oil to the bag with the unpopped kernels. Delicious!
You’re so nice and kind in a mommy way ❤️
Now I'm going to look for how to make a paper-bag with newspaper
You actually dont necessarelly need a paper bag, I tried it w another bag and it worked perfectly :) ( and yes ik u commented tgis 8 months ago but that's fine lol)
I tried the second method, it worked! Thank you so much! 🥺
I've been doing this for decades and it works great. The only thing to be aware of is to keep an eye on your bag to be sure it doesn't get stuck in a corner. If the bag gets stuck, be sure to move it as it can catch on fire. I had this happen.
I’ve been doing brown bag popping for awhile. Recently I used a bag that we’d gotten tacos in. Bad idea. Had a fire in my new microwave 😅. Don’t know if there was grease on the bag or if it had gotten to close to the top of the oven. Lesson learned.
Our favorite thing on popcorn is tamari (soy sauce)!! It has the saltiness and awesome flavor. For a long time I struggled trying to shake the soy sauce bottle around, but now I put some in a small glass spray bottle. It works perfectly. I think the light spray of good barrel-aged tamari is healthier than butter and our family likes it better.
Great hack!
Just tried this last weekend, I added a bit of butter to the paper bag and it worked wonderfully! Thank you for the tip!
does it prevent burning? mine keeps burning in the bag and it's only 2 min
@zentember mine keeps burning too, even on the popcorn setting, and me listening.
This was super helpful! Thank you for the great video!
You're so welcome!
Thanks aunt for this tips. Now i can make popcorn for my kids anytime they want.
I like plain dry unseasoned popcorn. My wife does not like popcorn, so she threw away our popcorn maker. Now I have to learn how to make popcorn with a microwave. Thank you
You have such a great charisma, loved the recipes, thank you very much!
Glad you like them!
U remind of my granny I love her May she Rest In Peace 🥰
Sorry for your lost
I am very so sorry for. your Iost 😱🙏
This was so sweet! Thankyou.
This is great! Just want to mention that I tried the uncooked kernels (from my first batch) and placed these again in the microwave oven. They came out ok again
Even better that the popcorn was made for TRUE DETECTIVES! (great series)
Loved it too
@@PrepperPotpourri series1 or series2?
YUM!! YUM!!! ME TOO TRIED IT FIRST TIME, INSTEAD OF ON A STOVE, USED A GLASS BOWL AND A GLASS PLATE.
THANK YOU PrePo for freeing me from the stove and oil and heat/shake method! we love popcorn and it is our #1 snack. very VERY economical. but this is MUCH better and i like not using oil. i season it in every way imaginable. i haven't tried my rachel ray recipe for sweetened popcorn yet because i don't know if it will work without the oil, but i will try it this weekend and let you know how it turned out.
Glad you like it

Thanks for the insight. Your voice it has a calming effect my baby of 6 months was watching the video with me and he just slept.
Wonderful!
i love you nana :D im gonna have these for breakfast with the plate method
Amazing, and you’re so natural ❤️
Awesome lady. Thank you dearly. 👍🏿
Great job showing how to do this! Thanks!
You're welcome!
I love the idea, but right now I live without a microwave. Soon I'm moving into my new house and will have one. So, when I do, this will be the method I use to make it instead of with all the oil. Thanks again for showing me. I love learning great new things. Keep teaching, you are appreciated.🙏
Thank you
thank you so much. this was the first time i had done this this was helpful
Glad it helped!
October 11th, 2021. I am still making myself a little popcorn with the paper bag / microwave oven method you gifted us. It's absolutely wonderful not to have to clean up an Lily pan and heat up the kitchen with a hot burner.
I make it that way about every weekend when the grandkids come over
2023 and we still here, man I love the glass bowl method

Haw. I ddnt know about this. Thank you very much
Great. I have done both before. Paper bag also gets steam saturated over time(Can only reuse so much) but does not get as hot to touch as a bowl would.
That is true. The glass bowl was really hot.
I just did this , AWESOME! results. Thank You :)
You're welcome!
Thank youuuuu, that was exactly what I was looking for.
Great!
Thank you so much! This helped a lot 😊
We have always used the microwave popcorn so after this, I will not be buying it anymore! TFS!
You will save money too
Thank you so much for the tips
thank youu! lately I've been making lots of snacks for my family (brother and parents) and this is a simple recipe that I'll definitely make! lots of love from a 14 year old in the Netherlands :)
Hope you enjoy!
I made it using a brown bag. Never knew it was that easy
Thanks for the video 😊 it taste good
I buy the white lunchbags since a lot of the brown ones I find in my local stores are made with recycled paper and that sort of grosses me out, lol. I've been using the lunch bag method for years. The person who told me about it said a high humidity microwave worked best so I get my popcorn ready to go, microwave a cup of water for tea, put the popcorn in as I take the mug of water out. If my popcorn kernels are not old almost every single kernel pops. I have an oil sprayer and I spray a bit of olive oil on the popped popcorn while it's hot. I like to try all sorts of toppings. I love chili powder, salt and a bit of sugar, something about that is addictive. Cinnamon and sugar is good too. When craving something chocolate I used Nestlé quick powder and salt, it was pretty good. I also buy the Kernel's Seasonings popcorn spices, they're good. You can use a packet of Ramen seasoning that does not need extra salt at all. Another option is dry salad dressing mixes for interesting flavors like ranch or Itilian dressing. If you're someone that loves the vinegar and salt chips you can buy powdered apple cider vinegar powder and make salt and vinegar popcorn. I love how much more healthy popcorn is than chips and how it's a great base for whatever flavors you're craving. Herbs and spices are great on it too! Old bay popcorn is a favorite of some family members. A really great combo uses butter powder, cheese powder, tomato bullion powder, italian seasoning, garlic powder and parmesan. That makes yummy pizza popcorn, one of my favorites! I'm sure a lot of you have favorite topping or a unique topping that you've done. I bought a box of the Cheetos Mac n Cheese so I can use the powder pkg on popcorn, bet that's going to be good. It also comes in Jalapeño Cheese variety too, I will probably wind up trying that too. When I was a kid a friend's mom used to make colorful fruit flavored popcorn balls with Karo syrup and Jello. I wouldn't eat those now but I have sprinkled fruit flavored Jello onto popcorn, I used a lighter oil on the popcorn and it was pretty yummy but splotchy colored, lol. You could probably make tie dyed popcorn for children that way.
I'll have to try that with a cup of water
Great video👍
prefect video! thanks!
Thank you so much, it helped alot. 🌹
I just made popcorn and it takes really good

best way during the corona lockdown to get your popcorn in front of your home theater
This is called good content 🤗
Just did it taste great
Wholesome
Awesome
Thanks for this. I watched this as I'm on a diet and found out that popcorn is relatively low calorie but also one of the more satiating foods you can eat (obviously without butter, caramel etc). Makes for a nice 100 calorie snack!
Your bowl method worked for me but it took seven to eight minutes on high with a 1200 watt oven. No popping until four minutes. I had about an 80% total popping of kernels. Not as efficient as stove top with oil, but many fewer calories
I usually use the "lunchbag" method but it is important to get a tight fit if using the bowl method
7 minutes in the bowl zero kernals popped.
Higher watt doesn’t actually make for faster heating, to evenly heat the inside and outside, lower watt is usually preferred. This is why defrost mode is usually on a low watt frequency
Now I know I'm not the only one to do this!🤯Too many times I've burned it trying to pop more and putting it in for 4'20"😂
This is so fascinating to watch when you’re stoned. I watched the whole thing - TWICE!
Glad to provide some entertainment
We don't have those paper bag popcorns in my country. Gonna give that a shot.
Wow! And here I have been doing it the way I grew up, popping it in oil in a cast iron skillet. Going to try this method, less mess!
Hope you enjoy
I have a microwave-convection combination oven that has metal shelves in it instead of the usual rotating glass platter, and when I tried popping the commercial bagged popcorn, the paper would sometimes burn a bit. I am concerned that with a plain, thinner paper bag, the rack will burn through and I will have popcorn all over the oven. Has anyone else dealt with a similar situation?
Try putting the bag in a microwave proof bowl
Thanks God bless you
Love it. Hugs from Brazil.

Hi great video, could you use a plastic bowel instead of glass ?

As long as microwave safe

Thank you 😊
I used a plastic bowl and it melted. Would not recommend 🤣🤣. But the popcorn popped perfectly Thankyou for the recipe
very good!!!
Nice work
The stove top method pops almost all the kernels, but the microwave only seems to pop about 1/4 of them. I have tested many methods
Subscribed! I love popcorn
Thanks for the sub

I bought a bag of popcorn to pop on the oven. If I was to do would I put a little butter on the bottom or oil? 🍿
Yes, you need some oil to oventop pop
So sweet🥺
Can you make unpopped popcorn in the micro wave with nothing no butter salt or oil
Yes
Thanks
