I've commuted on my burgman 650 for 10 years in all weather. Unfortunately, some cars & bikes absolutely hate it when you wip them on a scooter & i aint even trying. My scoot's no show pony & the winter riding really sorts the men out from the boys.
Quite true. Mine could beat quite a few motorcycles 'off the line' up to about 45 ish. Often it was because they just weren't expecting it. At the next lights they'd be ready though, not I'd just pootle along slowly away from the lights denying them their vengeance!! I now ride a Honda DCT and really miss the scooter weather protection!
I like how when you pulled up to the first light and saw that the road would be clear, you switched to power mode. If you went power and manual mode you would have smoked him like a blunt.
I have a 06 Burgman and a 1200 Triumph Speedmaster I know my Burgman will smoke it. but it'd get me off the line. People can't believe how fast they are and smooth as silk. I traded a VMax for my Burgman and never regretted it. To bad most people just don't think they're to cool.
Get a smaller windshield. I noticed a huge amount of drag when I put an XXL clearvue on mine. Nice for the winter but way too much drag and it affects the shift points. You can see the changes by going to manual shift.
Going manual makes no sense to me. Manual mode tries to mimic gears but it is still a cvt. Maybe I just do not use manual enough to be proficient, but when I have, I concluded that auto was much more efficient. I have not bothered with manual mode in years. The power mode is used a lot.
Same here nothing to be gained in manual mode, all you do is rev it out of the power band.power mode is much more efficient at releasing engine power as required.
A guy I know that has 650 Bergman executive says to use the power mode when you're in manual to get the most benefit out of it. you need to keep a closer eye on your RPMs because the bike is quite quiet and you're not shifting when you need to. The power mode gives you more top-end with your shifting.
i've a burgman 650 and it's quick until some real bike comes and makes me their bch so i settled for the comfort and not the performance but honestly i got super bored
Plus experienced rider would have went to manual switching of gears. Not full automatic limiting bike rap out gear speeds. It actually looks to be able keep up or beat that non Harley bike and you know HD is not built for speed and Suzuki top end performance is on Highway where it smoke that other much lowered gear bike.... Enuff said.

Yeah that’s not a Harley, because at the second light it would have broken down

Shift points? CVT transmissions have no gears.
