I was watching your double bass video, i loved it so i subscribed to your channel and i discover this vidéo and i cannot be ignorent about Maple hart issue and your situation. I amfrom France where we are lucky to get free surgery, my wife got open heart surgery twice for Marphan syndrom, it have been really tough for her to recover from that surgery but now she is fine, she can have normal life but she will get another heat surgery in the next ten years and it is pretty hard for her. Your situation is definitly toughter and i am happy to help you as much as i can. I hope it can help.

You guys will definitely get to the other side of this! My son was born with a congenital heart defect and required open heart surgery at 3 months old. It was chaotic for a while for us, and it got tight, but we made it. God bless you and your family, yall will be in our prayers for sure. Glad to help you guys!

Adam and family, I’m truly sorry for the obstacles that you’ve had to endure so early on in the process of starting a family. But I’m also happy for you. That even with what you guys endured before, you were able to create the beautiful daughter that you have today. After experiencing what a friend’s family had to deal with when they had lost their baby daughter due to heart defects and seeing what your family is struggling with, I’ve decided to make a donation to try to help alleviate some of the weight and stress you guys are having to endure at this time. That coupled with the fact that over the years, I’ve been able to enjoy watching you play drums and learn from your teachings, at no cost to me. You and your family are definitely deserving of my donation.

The fact that your finances are being upended DESPITE having health insurance is absolutely unjust. I sincerely wish your daughter a miraculous and transformative recovery and I know your family will persevere through anything thrown in its way✊✊✊🙏🙏🙏.
Thank you for all of the kind and thoughtful words, they are very much appreciated! Personally, I don't think any country has "nailed" healthcare; the US included. While free healthcare in other countries with nationalized programs sounds appealing, the quality and urgency of Maple's care would be quite different. I can say with confidence that the care she's getting at Nemours is truly astounding. It's hard to imagine infant healthcare gets any better. That said, it's still a comically broken system in countless ways.
When Kelly got pregnant, we had a very "basic" insurance plan, which would have covered a "normal" birth and pregnancy. Had we have known we had a special case, we would have been far more prepared. All that to say, the $40,000+ we've spent seems "fair" when you consider the decades of training that her surgeons and doctors have had. It's a level of expertise that's hard to comprehend. Less than 100 years ago, Maple would already died from her condition. Western medicine is the only reason she's alive, so we to try to balance out our financial grievances with gratitude for the lifesaving powerhouse that is the American Medical Industry. A double edged sword if I've ever seen one. Lol.

Having 4 children, fortunately, none of them having such big problems makes me feel fortunate. My heart goes out for you and my prayers are with you.
