    I just made 4 of these docks! I used 12’ 2x8s for the frame. The movable winch is genius engineering! They work great. I appreciate these videos with creative ideas. Nice job and thanks.

    Great idea! I’m in the process to adding a jet Ski slip to my dock and I’m going to incorporate your idea while building it. I like the PVC ramps!

    Good idea I would put the front gusset on the inside with the angle on the front to make it stronger

    This is really cool, and great direction dude. Just got me a 2004 Sea Doo GTX and a guy on my lake here in Alberta 🇨🇦 is selling a variant of this for $800. I wanna try it cheaper, so…challenge accepted!!

    Great idea! Do you support it in the ground somehow? I would think it would slide toward the sea doo when you crank it up. I’m definitely going to make one though, Thanks for the idea!

    • @NashwaukSteve
      @NashwaukSteve  4 роки тому

      Hi Bernie- I actually didn’t support mine to the ground, but I set mine on a rough gravelly area. It would sometimes pull an inch or two toward the water, but usually I could step on the landing ramp and it would stay put. A little ground support would be a good idea!

    Hi Steve from Canada. Would you remember the measurement in inches between the center of both pvc pipes ? Thx a lot and good job !!!

    • @NashwaukSteve
      @NashwaukSteve  3 роки тому +3

      Hey Guy! I’m in Northern MN, just a couple hours from Canada, but pretty good guess! The center to center distance 16.5”. I based that on the hull of my jet skis. Thanks for watching!

    Well, I am not handy, but I am building this PWC ramp for my Seadoo RXT 255 for the lake in Canada. It actually has gone well. I'm almost done. I have to complete the winch stage. I do have an issue transporting it because its 12 feet long (Seadoo is just over 10 feet). So, I plan to cut it in half and use metal hinges to reattach it when I get it to the lake. Thanks for the easy to follow steps.

    Great video Steve. Do you think this would work with caster wheels to launch from a boat ramp?

    • @NashwaukSteve
      @NashwaukSteve  2 роки тому

      Hi @Michael Sharpe - that’s s good question! If you replaced the pvc pipes with two rows of casters, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. Would you haul the whole assembly on a tilt trailer? That wouldn’t be a bad way to go!

  • @chrisalberts504

    When you started cranking the jetski up on the lift did the lift start pulling itself into the water or did it stay in place?

    • @NashwaukSteve
      @NashwaukSteve  Рік тому +1

      Hi - good question! Yes, sometimes the lift will shift a little, moreso up than out toward the water. Out of habit, I just put one foot on the lift while I’m cranking. It’s not been a problem for me. Thanks for watching!

    Did u consider rollers instead of pvc?
    What about a keel roller fo when you first go on?
    Do you anchor your ends somehow in the water.
    Considering this or the multinautic one, but this looks durable and cheaper

    • @NashwaukSteve
      @NashwaukSteve  4 роки тому +2

      I went with pvc as a cost saving measure. My skis are old and I bought them pretty cheap. I didn’t want to spend a lot in the ramps. The ends aren’t anchored, but that’s not a bad idea. Mine are sitting on concrete and gravel, so they don’t slide much. I usually put my foot on the ramp while I start cranking to keep it from shifting.

  • @joshuazakaib5671
    @joshuazakaib5671 4 роки тому

    Hey my seadoo is bigger than yours do you think it would still work? Would it be better cuz their smaller to put more of the ramp in the water? Great idea!

    • @NashwaukSteve
      @NashwaukSteve  4 роки тому

      Yeah it should still work. Might want to look at a winch with a longer handle to make it easier to crank up. Definitely measure on your hull to make sure you don’t end up rubbing in the middle. You’ll want to err on the narrow side to be sure.
      The back 6-8” of my ramps are in the water, depending on lake level.

    I'm thinking of building one, do you think it would work for a Sea-Doo Spark?

    • @NashwaukSteve
      @NashwaukSteve  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Jean Sébastien- I think it would work. Just be sure to measure the hull to see how far apart your pipes can be so it doesn’t scrape the cross supports. Good luck!

    • @jean-sebastiennadeau5232

  • @markbelina07
    @markbelina07 3 роки тому

    What was your total cost of the build?

    • @NashwaukSteve
      @NashwaukSteve  3 роки тому

      Hi markbelina07- took me a bit to put it all together. I spent about $450 on this project. About $390 was for the lumber, with the rest being for spax screws and rebar. All of my sand and gravel was free from a local iron ore mine. Note that this was at pre-covid prices! Today the project would cost about $750! The 4x4’s went from about $1.20/ft to $2.00/ft. I needed 30 - 6’ posts and 18 - 8’ posts. I hope this helps!

  • @timbondy3476

    What is the overall width of the ramp?

    • @NashwaukSteve
      @NashwaukSteve  4 роки тому +1

      Mine is 21” wide, except for the gusset supports near the front. That part is 24” wide.

    Would the bottom of the ski not hit the wood?

    • @NashwaukSteve
      @NashwaukSteve  4 роки тому +1

      As long as you keep the pipes from being too far apart it will clear. Mine does not rub.

    • @gamingwithjay4772
      @gamingwithjay4772 4 роки тому

      So do u need to Measure it to fit my mine?

    • @NashwaukSteve

    • @markmagnuson1444
      @markmagnuson1444 4 роки тому

      @@NashwaukSteve yeah, this is my only concern, too. I did measure and have spaced it 24 inches apart (RXT 255 is a big three seater). My solution if I screwed up once I test it is to replace PVC pipe with larger pipe. I can probably go up to 2 inch pipe if needed.

    • @ashfieldm
      @ashfieldm 4 роки тому

      Would your spacing be the same as your trailer spacing.
