Be careful when attendant comes out. Make sure they reset the pump, some won’t and then you get a fill up plus you get charged for the person that filled up before you. Mostly this happens in mainland Mexico but it can happen in Baja. Great video.!
Hello my friends glad to spend another video with you guys. Stay blessed and safe until next journey🙏🏾♥️🫶🏽🦋🐕
Cannot wait to get started on our vanlife journey this spring, Mexico and Baha is going to be a big bucket list item for us. Currently exploring chilly Iceland then off to Cyprus 🤘
The large cacti you saw are cardón cactus, aka, the Mexican giant cactus. It is only found in Baja and in the Sonoran Desert. They are related to the saguaro cactus that is very visible in Arizona in the US but no other state.
All I know about Baja street food-Fish Tacos!!! If you order tortillas they will automatically give you flour so be sure to ask for “maiz” if you want corn. The beef is much chewier than the American beef because it is very lean. The gas station toilets are famously hideous. My favorite tourist spot was an art colony on the Pacific side west of La Paz.
I grew up going to Ensenada 2-3 times annually 1950s-1973. Was a great time for a kid. Estero Beach Resort and the next door a bit north, El Faro campground. Ate at the long gone Ensenada Cafe which was directly across the street from the famous Husson's Cantina bar. So fun. Mom used to watch the floor show at the Bahia Hotel from the big picture window in front on the street for free. Folkloric dancers and great music. Oh the fun times. Only drawback to the city is the odor of the harbor sea creatures and some sanitary issues in the hinterlands. Last visit was a cruise from Los Angeles that stopped in the port and that was about 20 years back. Safe travels and yes, plenty of road blocks on the way on highways.
We've never had anything taken out of our van in mexico. I won't recommend boondocking in desolate places though. It's common practice to overnight at a gas station if you can't make to your destination by dark.
Thank you for another view of the world. Country side views are so different from those in NZ. Now I'm going to dive into your newest newsletter. I so enjoy both the written and the videos. Thank you.

That little town is pronounced Moo-li-hay. A clise friend of mine would vacation in Baja for 4-6 weeks every year. One trip he stayed there for 2 weeks.
Absolutely riveting following your journey down through Baja, and I got quite anxious about the fuel situation, brought back memories of an experience I had one Sunday in rural Northumbria. I was a little nervous when you had trouble finding a gas station that sold diesel but the rest of the trip was wonderful, and thank you so much for taking care of Vilk.
From watching other travelers in Mexico, I would advise carrying gas cans with extra diesel fuel if the stations are so far between. I have seen many rv/van travelers doing that.
That's what they do here in South Africa. If the lorry driver in front of you sees the road ahead is clear they will put the indicator on to let you know it's safe to pass them.
Haha I had the exact same thing happen ;) Was driving through San Felipe thinking I don't need to fill up, then got very nervous indeed on that long stretch before the next gas station came up
I love your food videos from Turkey, I was salivating too looking at them 😍😋🤩! So I would love and be very interested to see some of your food experiences in Mexiko as well!
I was not a big fan of the food in Costa Rica. It tended to be on the bland side by comparison to most other Latin American food. That was the ONLY way in which the country fell short for me, though. Despite the disappointment with the food, it was still my favorite vacation ever.
I think the reason you don't want to drive at night is because of the "topes". Giant speed bumps that go all the way across the road. How to ruin your suspension in one fell swoop!! Can't see them until you are on top of them, at night. I went as far as Rosarito Beach once, to buy some medicine over the counter that was horribly expensive in the U.S. when i had lyme disease.
You must have heard how quickly road conditions deteriorate as you go south. Also diesel can be very hard to find. Lovely people like with so many friends should be just fine. PS. The military check pts can get very serious and scary...we encountered very "high" soldiers nearly out of control on our way back north and it was terrifying.

Efendim teşekkürler ederim selamlar kardeşim videoları çok güzel harika
I like your videos but if you could show the road you're traveling on while you narrate it would be better as I know by now what you look like. Would make it more interesting for ppl as they want to see the actual countryside you are traveling on even if it might be flat and boring at that point.

Looks like an exciting trip, but aren't you worried about tarantulas climbing into you car?
Way back uop ? why not take ferry to mainland?
For a couple of reasons - firstly because we are meeting friends in Loreto and it looks fabulous to visit. And secondly we are planning on coming back to film in Mexico when we do the Journey south to Argentina - we are on this challenge driving around the world - so we are shipping from LA to Tokyo 😉🚐
