- Two things I like... Dodge Demons and Cheap Cars! So when I saw this absolutely TRASHED Demon at IAA Salvage Auction, I flew clear across the country to check it out!
There's totaled cars, there's TOTALED cars, then there's whatever this Dodge Challenger Demon is... We've bought plenty of badly wrecked Challenger & Charger Hellcats, for parts...
Even after seeing this mess of a Demon in person, I couldn't stop thinking about buying it... Fortunately, it ran at salvage auction the SAME DAY!
We also find a couple nice Corvette Z06, Mustang GT and even wrecked s14 240sx with some ultra rare parts! There's plenty to buy for the shop, but for me? There's only one car...

That Demon is like that Phoenix from Graveyard Carz, I reckon it'll cost as much as, if not more than if you could buy one new...
With that in mind, I would personally forget getting that one and either look for something else or go elsewhere

I would think do. To be practical there is nothing left to rebuild. At least the real important stuff like an engine and an interior. There may be some parts underneath if the is strong enough to be safe. A rebuild amounts to building a car piece by piece. Building a new car on an auto assembly is pretty fast. However it takes a lot of hours and a lot of money for both new and used parts to fix a crispy critter like this. At a Copart auction one usually wants a cheap rebuild to flip fast and make good money. A burn job isn't that kind of rebuild. I bet that car sells for less than $50.00 to a scrap yard. It doesn't matter if it's a high end Dodge or a Yugo. They are consumed by a very hot fire to nothing but scrap. I'm pretty sure the guy on this channel had already passed on this car.

I'm vibing with this comment cause strongly agree with the fire damage depending on hot it got the block deck is messed up and potentially the heads as well along with the blower. So the expensive parts are all suspect of damage
That demon is a parts car. Engine,supercharger, transmission, differential salvageable…
I sense someone messed up their demon and solved it by pouring gas in the interior and setting it ablaze ..
Yea, they pulled a Mr. White on it after some fun for sure lol.
Only 3600 made reliable burned down 3 in there old trailer (not surprising ) - this one down to 3,200
...but made sure to give it one final traditional burn-out before giving it a literal burn-out.

The Viper truck had an early version of the push start. First you insert the key, turn it, then press the start button like a modern mopar.
If you can get that Demon for 20 or less. Go for it. Assuming everything that's not already needing to be replaced isn't Warped. There's a LOT that can be used on it. Including engine and probably even the Blower. The rear end and brakes are also salvageable. The roof is a simple cut off and replace with a base Challenger roof. If worse comes to worst it's already got just about as much weight reduction as possible. Clean it up, cut it up and track it. It's never gonna see a clean title in any form anyway might as well live a new life at the track.
the idiocy is astounding, you are suggesting he buy a completely burned out car, that was in a wreck, and twisted rear axel, for 20 grand??????? lol i wouldnt fukin give 1 grand for that.

The Bullitts were alway offered in grean as well as black, throughout all the modern versions from SN95, S197 and now the S550

The 2001 bullitt mustangs came in highland green, black and very few were done in blue.

More C5s! I just ordered a rack from you guys a couple weeks ago, works great!
I rebuilt 8 totaled C5 Vettes, 2 of them ZO6's. I got to be on a first name basis with some of the Copart employees. One of the ZO6's I had to replace the roof. It's just glued on so you're heating up chisels with a torch and pounding them in to melt the glue. The last one I did was a torch red 99 FRC (fixed roof coupe) like the ZO6 roofs with 40 K miles. I paid $3900.00 for it and had 7K into it when finished. The front frame was unfixable, so I cut the frame off at the firewall and welded a junkyard one on. I had to replace every body part except the roof and the doors (thank you Ebay, 20 cents on the dollar). That one was the keeper and now has 60K miles. When you're rebuilding Vettes exclusively you stockpile 1-2 of every body and suspension part. When done with one, on average, I'd have 50% of bluebook value into it. I'd discount the price 25% because if the salvage title. The buyer would save 25% and I'd make 25%. That was fun and profitable, but I got tired of it and retired. The most profitable one was a black 2004 with only 6.500 miles on it and wasn't bad at all. the other bidders must have been asleep at the wheel as I got it for $6.800.00 and that was over 10 years ago. It was in and out of my shop in 4 days. I made 9K on that one. A guy bought it for his girlfriend and was the only A/T I rebuilt.
I had a question for you since it sounds like your quite knowledgeable on this stuff, i took the hood of one of my cars recently to install a new motor and the hood hinges have a cup behind them that were rusted so i bought new ones, the sheet metal behind them is pristine, when i pulled the old cups off there was this foam looking stuff behind them thats pliable/rubbery and it was painted the color of the car, what is that stuff? seam sealer? i was wondering what i could put behind those cups when i reinstall everything? i dont wanna spend a arm and a leg on it, any suggestions? thank you much for your time!!

Bullitt Mustangs can come in Black or green guys but those are the only two colors you can get them in.

I have a mate in the states, he buys 3 salvage cars.. builds one.. sell the leftovers for spares.. and has a cool car for bugger all..

That good corner on the demon where the demon itself survived, you could cut it off and sell it as modern art, but I think that's about all you could get from it, and 2500 for the front end wrecked Z06, not 6 or 8, everything is wrecked on that thing save for a few basic trim parts, the black ones estimate however seems kinda fair honestly.

I don't think the Demon is a good project for you or your business. However it would make a great project for UA-camr DIY Gang. He rebuilt a Hellcat that was 10 times worse than this Demon. So I would pass the Demon to him.

I would leave that Demon alone unless it is dirt cheap and you want to part it. It is a mess. I would bet the damage on the driver's side door was from fire dept prying it open with a hydraulic tool.

You basically got a Demon engine block plus a few bonuses. Part it out and make some money out of it. Or get one with a bad engine and rebuild it.
I got rid of my RCF for my C6. Vegas weather is almost good, needs to be a bit colder. Still seeing about 70° here.
I bought a viper once that was a little worse than the demon ended up with a rear clip, a long block engine and bellhousing with trans and some suspension parts
Looks like someone beat the hell out of that demon, crashed it(their fault), then went ahead and suicided the car

That red demon decent rebuild as someone on UA-cam actually bought one from a fire and there was light nothing left and he ended up rebuilding and ther was nothing left it was purple and he needed taking back to original owner to show him
That was They DIY Gang. He worked day and night on that car. Acquired a wrecked parts car that may have been fixable. None of it meant sense to me but he did wind up with a nice car by combining the two cars into one.

That demon is not worth over $2000 lol, I personally think that was a bad decision you should have gone for the Lexus… or that red mustang next to the blue demon… but I respect your decision, excited to see what comes of it.

Maybe it was one of a kind. They actually made 1 green Viper in 1992. Every other of the 284 cars in 92 were red.

I seen a Demon like this burn down at a track while staging! tThe track attendent just looked at it burn for a minute before he put an fire extinguisher on it. What was this guys problem? Driver did not know it was on fire, what a waste.

The thing about wrecked Demons is that they lose a lot their value when they are rebuilt, because they were a limited production car, and it will never be an original Demon again. This car is completely gone, it’s pretty much just a back half of a challenger body, everything that makes it a demon is destroyed, the hood, the wheels, the front clip, pcm, interior, etc. you would have to have a solid donor car, which makes rebuilding this just unreasonable. It’s a shame though that such a beast of a car got into the hands of someone who didn’t respect it’s power. Hope everyone in the car survived though.

Who would want to buy a repaired burned up car? It takes a lot of new or used parts and a ton of labor. Just look at all that's involved with rebuilding a car destroyed by fire. They indicated this car's engine was pretty well ruined. A replacement engine alone could cost $10,000.00 or more. Those Dodge Challenger Hemi engines are very expensive

Let him do what he chooses to do, he has a vision, he has the time, and he definitely has the money, and to be real, fixin/rebuilding that demon is way cheaper than buying a demon off the lot today, and since dodge is discontinuing them, they also will be going way up in value.

-Because of the content, the way the video was shot, the odd things like the 3 ring circus that turned into a 4 ring circus (1 keeper car and 3 donor cars).
To be honest I started jumping forward 1/2 way through this video because I saw too many wrecked cars and wrecked cars is not one of my favorite things to see in a giant field.
