awesome video, direct and to the point. btw i replaced both shocks and struts this weekend and the boot on the drivers side was ripped so i need to replace the axle and will do both sides along with the lower ball joints because you made it look so easy thanks for the video
I need to replace the front axles, how do I know what the best quality axles are to purchase for my 2006 awd Honda Element. My legs are handicapped so I have to have my mechanic do the work and it's expensive so I want to only purchase high quality parts so they last, do you think the Duralast has the best quality axles? Really appreciate all your videos, they are great thank you🙏💥
I'm going to take the Element to a mechanic and have him replace the ball joints. I bought made in USA Moog ball joints. I went ahead and bought the lower control arms just in case, which are Duralast but unfortunately aren't made in the USA just like the Moog control arms. Can you recommend anything to replace as a preventive measure and won't cost that much. Our Element has a little over 130k miles. Cheers!
It is a great idea and smart devotion you are replacing doing all together. When axle is remove is more room for the ball joints and the lower arms to be replace. You should be getting a discount for doing all that 😎👍. I always recommend transmission fluid drain and fill only , to replace every 30k they easy to do and won’t cost much .

@@Element_lifestyle I bought the lower control arms just in case, so I could save a little on the labor. The dealer originally said it was the ball joint boots needed to replaced because they were torn and then the came back and told be that the ball joints were worn but they wanted too much to replace them. We did have them do the front brakes because they said they were in the red and should be replaced right away, but for this job, I'm going take it to my local mechanic who is reasonable. You videos on the Honda Element are invaluable. Thank you and have a great day!
Hi! If I dont need to replace the ball joint, do I have to remove caliper and all brake components to change the axle only? And process is the same for both sides? Thank you for making this video!
Hello, you don't. The axle already comes with the grease inside . Just becarfull to don't damage the boot during the installation process. Hope it helps you and if you have any other question , I am glad to answer.
Have you had any problems with the duralast axles? I heard so many people say they’ve had problems with aftermarket axles on the element. Most say to go oem only.
I didnt, actually I replaced because i had a woble before. I hear some people geting woble after usisng aftermarket axle. But with mine didnt happen. I have stock tires size tho and all my suspetion is new. Defentitly if i had the extra money i will go with oem. The ones I got has lifetime waranty .

Is the duralast axle still good after a yr.? Some say they go bad.
Hi, So far so good. As long your element is stock then should be ok. I had good experience with it. If is lift it just go OEM
Make sure you torque that wheel nut to spec before you tap the safety tab. 10:00
Sound good 👍
He did say after torquing it in the video lol

So far not at all. Is been so many months already. I drove the E out of states many times too 👍
@@Element_lifestyle Good deal. Good to know in case I ever have to change mine.
What is the tool for the C clamp of the ball joint called?
Hey Miguel!! Question, do you happened to have the part number or link for the moog ball joints?
You make it look easy, but probably will have find a mechanic to do the job. Thanks!
Glad to help 👍🙏
Thanks brother

How do you like the duralast cv shafts?
My abs sensor wont come out, but I think I can leave it in, Im just replacementing the cv axle.
You can try leaving it , if you put w40 and turn it left to right and right to left slowly it may come out
Do you leave in florida?
Hi, I lived in Florida few years ago. But now in California.
