GIRLEY BOG AND THE MIRACLE WELL

Girley Bog is situated southwest of the town of Kells in County Meath. Girley Bog is a site of considerable conservation significance, as it comprises of a raised bog, a rare habitat in the E. U. and one that is becoming increasingly scarce and under threat in Ireland.
It is a loop walk of about 6 km, just over three and a half miles. Kells town is only 7.5 km away if your looking for a nice cafe or restaurant.

Girley bog is such a lovely walk for sure, those pot holes in the beginning are mad lol If anyone brings their dog, check for ticks, no escaping them 😬 I have to wash my dog after every visit. I love the forest 🌳 part the best, although I always feel I’m been watched 🤪 The boardwalks are fun. Another good one Don!! 😊👍🏻😎

I've done the Girly Bog walk twice. I parked where you did. Both times I ended up out on the N52 havin taken a wrong path at the main car park. Third time I got it right. The signage is not great. When you get to the main car park take the path back through the woods. The bigger road/track brings you to the main road. You'll end up doing about 10k and trying to dodge the very very busy N52. Saying that it really is a hidden treasure. 👍
