    As a European, who has relatvely easy access to some of the best chocolate there is, I wouldn't say Feastables is among the top tier of chocolates. The taste is decent, but it's 5.5 euro per 100g over here (in the US it's ~4 euro per 100g). That's roughly 2x the price of Lindt chocolate, which is significantly better, and almost as expesive as Läderach. In fact, I've spent less per gram at a proper artisanal chocolatier in Liège. Needless to say, I'm probably not going to buy Feastables again, but for a "merch" / "branded" product, it is very good. A lot of celebrities/influencers in my country have their own Pizzas or other products, and most of them are genuinely bad products, whereas feastables only lacks value for money.

    • @PizzaTrophy
      @PizzaTrophy 7 місяців тому +18

      i wouldn't factor cost and how it compares in Europe into your decision about it's taste. I can get them at 7/11 for under $2 which is pretty good for a chocolate bar, also 7/11 doesn't sell lindt so that's not a great comparison. he's not out there making THE BEST CHOCOLATE BAR!, he's making decent ones 10/10 on the deez nuts, will eat again. probably this week when my kid asks for more

    • @morgenanspyrys
      @morgenanspyrys 7 місяців тому +82

      @@PizzaTrophy I said it tastes decent, not great, but the value is lacking. If you compare it to Hershey's (which kinda tastes like vomit to me sorry Americans don't put fucking butyric acid into food) it's infinitely better.
      2$ at 7/11 is still more expensive than Lindt is here, since the Feastables bars are 60g, that puts it at 3.33$ or 3.16€/100g. Lindt can be found for ~2.50€ per 100g quite easily, and I've seen it as low as 1.79€ (1.89$)/100g online (in store it can get even cheaper with offers). For an equivalent amount of chocolate to a Feastables bar (60g) that is 1.13$/1.07€.
      I'm sorry but if you're ~2x as expensive as Lindt, there's 0 reason to buy something that only tastes decent.
      Feastables is like high C tier (assuming mid C is the peak of a normal distribution) and Lindt is like high B low A, about 1-1.5 standard deviations better, and literally half the price (or even cheaper)
      Obviously chocolate availability in America is different than in Europe, but for me to buy a Feastables bar it would have to be probably around ~50-60 cents European? Tbh with how cheap good chocolate is here, there's little point buying anything else.
      Edit:
      It appears that Walmart online store carries Lindt 125g bars (2x Feastables bars in weight) for 3.26$. If you've never had it before, I'd recommend you give it a try, it's basically the "entry level" swiss chocolate (idk how it would be to an American palette though tbh) [also entry level here doesn't mean "bad" or "inferior", swiss chocolate just gets crazy good but even marginally better options are significantly more expensive due to way smaller scale]

      Yes, this. There's tons of charity going on everywhere not being broadcast on media platforms like UA-cam. Just because it is with MrBeast, doesn't change the fact charity is being done. Broadcasting it isn't wrong because it is indirectly funding more. Taking the flack for the whole "blind people" charity as an example; that would not have happened if he wasn't making as much money as he was then. Making more because of broadcasting it isn't wrong. He could've made more doing many other things that weren't charity, and that's not even considering the expense of the procedures in that video. The fact it happens is only a good thing. The fact his popularity is as strong as it is is only a good thing because this means more funding for more and bigger charities. It's win-win-win. Who's being harmed by any of this? The people who are donating? They do so willingly. Some I'm sure are probably donating more than they should or can afford. That's still their choice, but if they can't control their spending any better than that, then at least it's going to be used better than otherwise.

I used to watch him before he got super big, and when he got his first sponsorship with Quidd he gave the money to his mother and sincerely thanked Quidd for giving him that opportunity. While you could argue that he has a selfish goal of trying to be #1, I think he's trying to do it in a way that creates a feadback loop between helping the world and making good content, whereas the Bill Gates of the world does it primarily for optics to hide their evildoings.

    Coz we've already seen it with celebs, it's usually just an existing product that gets modified to whatever gimmick the influencer/celeb has which drives the products popularity that it wouldn't otherwise have without that influencer/celeb backing it, whether it's drinks, alcohol, food, beauty products etc
    And this isn't coming from a position of hate that is by the way, just a general comment, coz I have the same stance with regards to like designer brands where I've laughed that someone will pay like 10x more for a famous brand when that product is probably made in the exact same factory as the product that costs 10x less.

      I'm sorry but Hersheys chocolate has a very specific taste that can only be acheived by using cheap bottom of the barrel barely qualifies for the legal definition of chocolate recipes. if you like it more power to you, but that just means you have cheap tastes in chocolate. Which i want to be clear there is nothing wrong with that live your best life and eat the chocolate you prefer. but most people who buy Hersheys do not buy it because they think it tastes better then the higher end brands most people buy it because its very cheap, they know what they are getting, and you can get it almost anywhere. Hershey's is the Mc. Donalds of chocolate bars, Its made as cheaply as possible and as widely available as possible and is just good enough for people to seek it out when they want something familiar. If you prefer it to more expencive brands you probably just don't actually like the flavor of chocolate very much and as such bars with a higher percentage of chocolate are a turn off..

    I would say that of all the things to have come out of late stage capitalism, Mr Beast is not bad. Perhaps even good.
    Very much a product of the system though. And maybe it shouldn't be up to him to do these charitable initiatives, maybe we should just do them, as a society. Like with the blind people, the infrastructure and the people to cure them already existed, the only obstacle was the money. Like with Tuberculosis (if you follow the Green brothers, you know).

    As an avid MrBeast fan, Jimmy honestly seems like such a genuine guy. He tries to live a humble lifestyle and, while I can understand the criticisms of performative charity, at the end of the day he's encouraged more people to donate and give to people in need. Something notable that was not mentioned in the video is that all the ad revenue from the Beast Philanthropy UA-cam channel goes back into his charity, which is honestly impressive when you see each video averages around 20 million views.
    Also, as someone who has tasted every Feastables bar, the Sea Salt and Deez Nuts flavors are easily my favorites.

      But he doesn’t live a humble lifestyle… all he does is flex wealth. He pushes consumerism in terrible ways, all of his videos now are dripping in tacky UA-camr wealth. I mean I watched a video of his where he recently destroyed millions of dollars worth of goods. He bought 5 pristine clearly functional school buses and stacked them on top of each other with a fucking crane, for what? It took up like not even a minute of the video and boom 5 school busses gone forever. It didn’t even look cool. And then I see people be so critical of other creators when they destroy a couple hundred dollars worth of food for a video but somehow Mr. Beast doesn’t get much criticism when he destroys 50000x value. He’d rather give away a Lamborghini for views than give away 100 used cars that would help 100x as people. It feels so shallow, and makes me sad that young people view him as the new pillar of philanthropy. The way philanthropy should be done

    Being an Australian in a medium sized town, I can say I've seen feastables around the place, hell I even saw one on the ground near a KFC store. When I tried it for the first time the only one I found to be good was the reese's flavour or "Deez Nuts". But the largest one is 4 dollars AUD for 60g of chocolate which in comparison to a typical Cadbury chocolate bar, a 360g of chocolate is only 6 dollars AUD. What I've come to the conclusion is that, while the money may go to a good cause, the reason the business even works is because of the positive brand MrBeast has.

Most videos that describe the charity business go into its effects on the population or topic they are supposed to assist, even so-called “sustainability” ones. Also, should charitable contributions that often go to “pet projects”, get the tax benefits of the highest tax bracket, when the contributors often get something in return?

The chocolate is slightly more bitter than traditional milk chocolates and overall feel "fresher" or "cleaner" to eat. Idk how to describe it but I don't feel disgusting after eating a feastables like I would eating a Hershey's. Hershey's is overly sweet, has a "sour" after taste, and make my mouth feel like tooth decay. If children are going to eat copious amounts of chocolate anyways I think its far better for their health and suguar addictions if they eat feastables.
