Abandoned- Eerie old farm house hidden in trees/Old stuff left behind inside and outside

  • Hey explorers and house lovers! Finally got back out in to the far reaches of the country area again to find and film some old farm houses. This house was the second one on this trip and looks to have been occupied by an elderly farming couple who moved on or passed away in the early 2000`s. I would date the home to be built around the early 1900`s. Pretty much still all original apart from some attempts at reviving interior/exterior wall coverings.
Much left behind and all retro things both inside and out around in the back yard so I hope you enjoy the tour around this old farm house. Thanks for watching :-)

The tile in on the wall looked like acoustic tile. Last time I saw a knitting machine like that was at a friend's house. Her mom made a living knitting on it. Too bad the sink wasn't in the kitchen. That room being already plumbed could have made a good bath area. The turn table looked mid century modern. I would love to have one again. I hope you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I love that old cart. It would make a great display piece at the front of a farm shop. Looks as though they had been there years and had to do farming the hard way. We owe our ancestors so much. Too many people take things for granted in this day and age. If only we could time travel. :-)

I explored a old house one time that had belonged to an Indian lady and her husband. (Native American) about 100 years ago racist were everywhere here in the Southern US. During a overnight business trip by the husband, the wife, Native American, and her child were attacked by a group of local men. She ran over a cliff into a river with the baby in her arms. When the husband returned and found the bodies, he locked up the house and left. It had been abandoned for over fifty years when I explored it. That has been over fifty years! Exploring abandoned properties is great fun. I am over 70 now, but still love locating and speculating on abandoned properties. I even enjoy manufacturing properties, but my favorite are health care facilities, old hospitals in particular, and old schools.

Haven't seen an old farm for awhile. Enjoyed it. I'll bet it was nice to get out of town for a change. The house was neat and not so damaged as I expected it to be. Sad to see so much older things still able to be used just sitting there rotting. One could tell it was a working farm and that it had been abandoned for quite a while. The red and white machine is an hand operated knitting machine. Could produce products that looked handmade, but weren't actually knitting by fingers holding needles. Why it could be called handmade products is because each item produced looked a little different. You held the handle thing at the top and slid it across the first string of yarn laid across the first row of thin metal arms.

I must say I really liked this find. Aside from the cow skulls, I thought the house felt warm and comfy, a farm family trying to make things look nice. In the first shed, I spied what looked like an old overbed table used in hospitals (even before my nursing time). Glad to see you're taking precautions against snakes and mold/dust. Now all you need is a spiderweb stick....peace, hope you have a great holiday season.

Hi Kelly :-) Merry Xmas to you too! :-) Lonely old home indeed but would hold a lot of history of a hard working farming family no doubt. :-) Cheers for watching

You surely do have a neat hobby! I haven’t heard anyone with you but I do hope you don’t do this alone. There’s always the possibility of an old well or a rotten floor board. I would never have thought about Australia having abandoned properties. Crazy, I know, but I expected you guys to be more frugal then we are here in the US. Great property.

Yes and I noticed something was in the oven. Probably just a dish stored in there but I wish he had opened it and looked in. Enjoyable video though. Felt sorry for those animals that died. I hope they didn't starve to death.

G'day Paul ... the wall and ceiling cladding in the room with the knitting machine and radio is sound 'deadening' (is that a word?). The knitter can produce quite a clatter at times. Have a great 2021, mate. Cheers, Ken

I enjoy all the comments too, though I think not all read them...due to identical comments on Identification. I really enjoy reading all of them! I loved this old house...such good vibes and a good storyteller. Someone grew old and ill in this house...Sat in front of a heater in dining area to keep warm...padding the chair for more comfort...and I kind imagined..too frail to move a recliner into room to sit on . Apparently they used the room with two recliners to watch TV and videos. The animals passed in their stalls, so most likely thy may have died unattended and not found till animals had starved. Sound proofing? Maybe someone gave it to them or put it up to maintain warmth in their sleeping room.

Your stitching machine is a knitting machine. A fast and easy way to knit large pieces for sweaters and blankets. I would kill for one and that one is just sitting there going to waste. Now I want to cry. Great video though.
