The gaps in the dorsal section never bothered me about the pre-'19 playset Falcons as much as the narrow mandible profile. This disproportionate front end profile was further exacerbated in this set by putting in the forward escape pod. It made the ships proportions look even more out of wack.
And, thank you for putting on the video slow... motion. So we can watch what exactly is going on 👊👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 have all the pieces to do the job now. Falcon is on its way. So exited and thankfull to you for posting this video.

Nice mod. I went and did a much sillier and more expensive mod. I wasn't happy with my Kessel Run Falcon, so I used the design of the Rise of Skywalker Falcon to rebuild it. Still waiting for the white 6x4 wedge plates to come in the mail to complete the mandibles.
Since we're going to get a new X wing maybe you could try to rebuild the old 9493 X wing to a Z-95 Headhunter. Seems like a relatively easy thing to do.

you should have modified the mandibles as well... make them three studs longer and two studs wider at the base. So it doesn't look crappy when the escape pod is gone.
when I modded my Kessel Run Falcon I was really annoyed by how buried down the center bar in the back was. I know it was meant to provide stability to the overall structure but why add it in now? It wasn’t in any of the previous versions of this same design
I love your videos and have even adapted my U Wing and Falcon from watching them. My least favourite set in terms of realism is the Imperial Freighter from Rebels. Any chance you could have a look at adapting that? Or the tank from Rogue One or the Troop Transport from Rebels (perhaps the least accurate set I own). Keep up the good work.
