Brilliant, we all must realise everyone is different, and we must respect that, but more so, CELEBRATE IT! I was premature, didn't speak for years, they thought I was dumb, but my gran knew, coz didn't force me to talk, and I started pointing at things on walks, saying telegraph pole, helicopter, hoskital, etc, and everyone was surprised I was always listening, and then came out with the most complex not always correctly said words. Yep I've always been different, and I love it, mentally ill too, no label fits me, but coping so so at mo x SPECTRUM ALWAYS, I always wonder all those who like me always loved the Pink Floyd album cover and prisms of light, before the 'spectrum' thing came a thing, did that already prove we were always different x I also was thought to be dyslexic coz I had this mean teacher who would test us on how many lines of a poem we could remember, or spell complicated words, and if we failed we had to go back and English book each time, I ended up going over things I had done in the previous year. I always found it like exam conditions to learn even my own poetry later, always been a paraphraser, mind of images, with one dictionary to explain those feelings, rather than clogging ma mind with multiples of words, and spelling, I used to argue it is said this way so it is spelt how I hear it. Ended up penultimate junior school year going to hospital, they checked everything, said my imagination was immense, but different parts of my brain interpret my hearing, so maybe that's why I was a late speaker too. Sadly had to have English coaching in the end, was out in set 3 at GCSE, where most got less than a C, and I got an A Lang and a B lit, yep some teachers are xxxxxxx!
