Great explanation Captain! Thanks for video. Could you make another episode regarding DCS and manual/auto set up of vaporizer/heater/LD/HD. Best regards
Steady as she goes, captain Nick! Carry your heavy cross on! Tea clippers were apex of sailing era. Why did then they lose to sluggish stinking steamers? Only because of lack of professionals! You are salvor of LNG industry.
Thanks Capt. Nick. Do you use the spray pumps also to cool the top of the tanks while sailing with cargo in all tanks? Or are the cargo tanks only kept cool due to cargo temperature and tank membrane insolation?
1.5 bar is enough on spray header for efficient spraying. With 2 bars and warmer tanks you are generating quite more vapours inside tanks and IBS adjustments are necessary.
It differs from vessel, cargo and people performing the operation. The newest tanks need these vapours since the cargo tanks pressures drops very fast.
@@nickthesailorman360 I am referring to instructions from GTT. Ideally they recommend 1.5. Not saying that 2.0 bar is bad, saying that accumulation of dead heel on 2.0 can be significantly higher.
Just an dumb question... with everything going paperless... Why do you need to print out and record the temperature every 30mins for the tank cooldown?
Did you manage to understand the cooling down process?Any comments are more than welcomed :)

Hello there tanks are kept cold due to the cargo after having been loaded up to the acceptable filling levels.
