LNG cargo tanker ship is a specialized type of gas carrier vessel that carries highly flammable cargo in liquid form.
Seafarers working on this type of gas tanker ships go through specialized training to ensure they are aware of the hazards, safety system and have knowledge of how LNG ship works.
LNG is carried in specially constructed cargo tanks such as moss tanks and membrane tanks, capable of carrying the liquified form of natural gas at a very low temperature.
This video explains the construction of the cargo tanks popularly used in natural gas tanker ships and also explains the steps involved in the LNG ship cargo operation.

It was like a revision in 8 minutes. Nice job. Make more videos on cargo operation. Cheers.
More to come! Thank you for your comment 👍🏻
Ok i
Very useful video especially for those marine student out there. Keep up producing informative learning videos.
I worked on LNG Ships for ETC and then Pronav. Sometimes the pipes will leak, and a quick temporary fix is to wrap the leak with a wet rag. The LNG is so cold it will freeze the rag and stop the leak.
sir may i ask a question.
How the Cargo Engineer ALIGN the manifold of the vessel to the shore?
What is the reference point in aligning the Manifold as it usually consist of 4 liquid lines and 1 vapor line?
thanks
I’m a LNG fan, working in LNG Terminal Thailand 🇹🇭
I’m thinking about Seaman friend onboard. Never meet them onboard since COVID-19 pandemic. 😷
Thank you for sharing.
Seafarers repatriation has been highly affected by the pandemic
@@marineinsight Yes 👍🏻 that’s true. 😊⚓️🗺😁
Map tha put?
@@tonihozic4162 Yes 👍🏻 Have you visit there with your good ship?
@@RjFragile yes, 26th of January.
Detailed Explanation .
Thank You so much for sharing
Thank you so much 😊
Very good and clear explanation ..
This is the first time watching this LNG operation. But I have did loading operations in CHEMICAL tankers vessels. But your expectations are different level.
True
Thanks for your continued help to all seafarers. It's really helpful for us.
Glad to hear that! Please do share and support 👍
Great video
Great video,
Sir your content is so useful mostly with marine student. Can you have a video about computation about navigation? Thanks in advance sir Godbless!
Thank you so much!
Glad it helped!
Informative,thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Amazing and informative video. So much hard work for transporting LNG from offshore to shore etc and it is highly dangerous.
Glad you liked it
how many serious incidents so far ?
Cryogenic is special subject where material under go at minues operation temperature -196 Degree C. Good effort taken to make the vedio.
Appreciate your comment. Thank you
Very informative. Keep up
Thanks a lot
Tanks helping
👍
More videos regarding LNG please hehe😊
Sure 😊
Please make detaile detailed videos with examples om rules of the roads.
I am working at refinery in-service inspection of Mechanical Static Equipment and components "Cryogenic Testing" of valves and fittings

Can you please explain me what is a Short Endurance marine vessel?
Please, it will be of great help to me
Good morning wching from canada.

He say, purge Arm with Air. Purging should be by nitrogen after unloading to avoid explosive mixture.
In a world that is in unrest, this is an insane means of shipping volatiles.
Narrator reads his notes well
Nice
Can I ask for your help with regards to oil and gas industry in their waste produce? I am conducting a research. I hope u could help me 🙂
Most of LNG vessel are without Reliqufaction plants, because it is to expensive, in industry have MEGI engine type LNG, but still you can reliq, some part of cargo and send back in tanks, to maintain cargo temperature gas are just burned by boil off effect.
@@alfredob.martinezjr.1083 To instal reliqufaction plant it is too expensive, put now MEGI engine not.
@@alfredob.martinezjr.1083 For LNG standart for stage compresor will be too expensive, why you think all lng fleet most of case are going by boil off. Just now as MEGI engine come in industry it become little bit comercial cheaper. I work in gas industry as officer and marine training instructor.
The ships I was on were steam powered and we had a gas hood installed in all the boilers that used the boil-off as a fuel source, so when boil-off occurred it was burned as fuel thru the special burners installed for that purpose. Bunker-C and LNG burning looked different, an orange flame surrounding a bright blue flame.
Good job. Useful for student but some information need to be corrected. image of membrane tank similar to type b tank will give misunderstanding. and pressure control philosophy is different for different membrane tank. (Gtt Mark-iii and 96-2).
More Videos regarding reliquification process and GCU
I would also like to see more videos on the reliquefaction processes.
Thank you for the suggestion
I Need a LNGC & FSRU Process
please Make for LPG cargo ship
can you make more videos about gas carriers?) i'm interested in future, change fleet to gas carriers. Such videos help to know more about GC operation, step by step.
Thank you
Sure thing!

👍
Sir it's so simply explained, your expressing details is realy appreciated, sir jee if desipite above if few doubts develop ,will you provide some mean to contact for enlightenment

Arms aren't air purged, that would create a potentially explosive atmosphere. they are purged with nitrogen 😁
Dear sir nice video , but what is an average cost of lng ship in liquid phase ,
Like when we make price for lng in mmbtu to be = 5$
doest it mean that we are considering lng btu price in vapor phase and not in liquid phase.
Bez as we know that
1m3 of liquid lng = 600 x liquid lng
So when we price we convert 1st liquid volume into gases volume and then we price , the heat energy in m3 volume of lng as a gas
Nice video . Can ship use LNG as driving fuel ? What is the most common fuel to drive ship ?
Yes they can, become fery popular now.
Yes, now ships are coming with system to use LNG as fuel. Most common fuel is Heavy Fuel Oil and Low Sulfur Fuel oil.
@@marineinsight And looks it will be for some time, there was to implement dual fuel, and many ships in europe area is working on this, because can provide bunkering with LNG, but as now heard as price goes up for LNG. It not become so profitable for company, many run on diesel.
Make in india bullt train innovation plot more
What is the langusge? Kalkulksski?
Good info, but I wished the video would have been made with a better voice. At least find someone with a better voice and pronunciation to make the video more professional.
LNG shipping container full contract tata provides
Why are empty spaces outside tanks filled with nitrogen ?
5 years contract
1:35 - This is not a membrane tank
Full manufacturing contractors provides to tata
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
🙂
3.5 trillion LNG needs india
Why do officers & engineers get more pay in LNG as compared to other ships?????
Smaller contracts ( up to 4 months ) plus the dangers they put themselves in
@@wasper5430 I think chemical tankers are more dangerous than gas carriers. Danger is not the only thing for high pay. What do you say
@@alfredob.martinezjr.1083 For a Filipino officer as compared to other ship it is more
@@alfredob.martinezjr.1083 No, Junior ranks everywhere is almost the same... The real difference come in higher ranks starting from 2nd officer itself... And more as you go up as compared to LPG
@@alfredob.martinezjr.1083 You are not getting the point. But OK, you're in MOL?
This has to be the most expensive way to transport LNG! Why not just build a pipeline?
Ballast tanks lol, cuz shipping cars with LNG is just logistical nightmare lololol
Are all tanks loaded at the same time or are they loaded one after the other?
Not at the same time
@@marineinsight Same time my friend
@@EnmaCodm12213 right, you can load all tanks in one times
Is it possible to hire english native speaker to sound the video?
Notes well read....narrator must sound like he is explaining
......you are clearly reading. Did not enjoy
LNG tanks inside are flat (NO 96) and corrugated steel (mark iii) Please don't use chemical tanks to show the features of LNG tanks.
