- An in-depth explanation of what the hell is going on here:
The Twilight Mod AKA "giant Lobotomy Corp/Library of Ruina reference" adds in the weapon "Twilight", a complex beast of a weapon with many functions based on the four bird Abnormalities and their related abilities found in the original games.
- Despite looking like a sword, Twilight simultaneously scales with Melee, Ranged, and Magic damage bonuses, It takes the highest crit chance out of the 3 classes, and cannot have its use time modified, nor can it be reforged.
-Its base damages double if you're below half HP. Note that its listed base damage is, to put it simply, a gross understatement of its actual damage.
- Left click cycles through four attacks:
* A massively damaging downwards swing that deals 3750 base damage and inflicts "Vigilance" to enemies for 1 second, stunning them regardless of any immunities.
* A sideways swing that deals 62 base damage 30 times a second and applies "Bleed" with each hit. Bleed stacks indefinitely, dealing damage per second equal to 60 x (bleed stacks). Bleed will decay at a rate of 6 stacks/second.
* A sideways swing that deals 250 base damage and also summons a scale that makes every hit deal ~0.3% of the target's max HP as bonus damage.
* Fires five homing missiles that explode with a base damage of 112. The missiles pass through tiles and inflict "Paralyze" for 5 seconds, which halves enemy contact damage.
Right clicking with Twilight will synchronize you with the Apocalypse Bird (the giant background monster), calling it in to assist you while also changing the background and music to ones from LoR. While the Apocalypse Bird is active, all summons are dispelled, all of your clicks with Twilight instead give commands to the Bird, and you additionally gain immunity to pretty much all debuffs while healing for a portion of the damage you deal.
- Holding left click causes Apocalypse Bird to alternate between two slow but powerful attacks:
* Fires a storm of homing energy blasts that explode for 400 base damage and inflict Paralyze for 6 seconds, healing you for 1 HP per hit. If no targets are available, the missiles follow the cursor.
* Slams its arm down on the target to deal massive area damage (4000 base damage at a rapid rate) and inflicting Vigilance for 1.4 seconds per hit, on top of healing you for 2 HP per hit.
- Right click will make the bird use a special attack depending on what form it's currently in (see below). Each one has a cooldown.
- Every 20 seconds, the Apocalypse Bird cycles through 3 "states" in order, identifiable by the buff you currently have and a picture flashing in the background.
- The Big Eye state passively reduces damage taken by 25%. Its special attack summons a "Lamp that Burns Forever" to charm nearby enemies, reducing their contact damage and giving them a chance to take 4x critical damage while also forcing them to attack it. If the target has "Mark of Sin", they will additionally have their defense reduced to 0 and their movement speed reduced by 5% per stack.
- The Long Arm state passively mirrors 15% of damage you deal to the enemy with the highest percentage of current health to all enemies. It also gives all your attacks a chance to inflict "Mark of Sin" which stacks up to 5 times and amplifies the effects of its other attacks; in this phase, it will amplify the damage of the Apocalypse Bird's attacks by 30% (?). Its special attack "Ceaseless Judgement" deals 6666 damage to every enemy on the screen while healing 1 HP per hit; if a target has Marks of Sin, it will consume them to deal bonus damage equal to 4% of their max HP per stack.
- The Small Beak state passively causes your next attack after taking damage to deal double damage. Its special attack "Torn Mouth" makes Apocalypse Bird bite down on the target location for 10000 base damage, slowing all enemies by ~25% for the duration of the attack; if the target was in the very center of the Bird's mouth, the damage is multiplied by 10, and the attack heals you for 200 HP while inflicting 150 stacks of Bleed for 10 seconds. If the target has "Mark of Sin", all damage dealt to them is amplified by 6% per stack.
The Apocalypse Bird lasts indefinitely until you dispel it by switching to a different item/slot. After you dispel it, there is a 30 second cooldown where you cannot synchronize with the Apocalypse Bird again.
TL;DR: it looks very cool and kills things good

For those interested, the mod is not on 1.4 and I don't know if it will be any time soon. You can still download it on the 1.3 Mod Browser under the name "Twilight".

If you summon the Moon Lord and then activate the Apocalypse bird, you will be treated to the wonderful scene of a giant abomination rising up behind Moon Lord preparing to pummel it into a fine pulp. Even Better is the fact that Apocalypse bird is considerably bigger than poor old Moon Lord.

9 months ago this was my first video connected to the works of Project Moon.
It made me look up what an Apocalypse Bird is. Then I looked up other abnormalities from Lobotomy and finally I have decided to play the game myself.
Got my girlfriend into Lobotomy and she finished it long time ago while I watched a summary of the story and continued to Ruina. Now we are both giant fans of Project Moon and she is even going to cosplay a lob Corp clerk with knight of despair ego at a convention.
Just a couple of days ago I have finished Ruina and I have to say that it's now forever shelved as one of the best games I have ever played.
To the maker of this video, thank you for spreading the glory of THE 1984 BIRD because this video has made 4 new Project Moon Fans.

@@pap_core Yeah, sorry about the spoiler. I wasn't thinking about that since it always felt obvious that it was gonna show up to me.
Also don't be too disappointed in the dev, he basically had to reanimate everything and implement it.
Just for reference the Bird of the Apocalypse is 40 meters tall and double that in length(as it is always crawling).It looks much bigger here cause the player model in terraria is smaller.
Does that mean the lob Corp employees are 5 meters tall or smth?

@@mmmmmmmmicrowave doubt the cognition filter makes the employees bigger, and it doesn’t make the apocalypse bird smaller since it’s already the size of the mainrooms in lobcorp

I'll be real the difference in size compared to the tiny player character here makes Apocalypse look way more threatening than it did back in LoR, and the way Terraria camera's works means it doesn't feel as out of place as the original sprite does in Ruina.
I feel PM should have just made a bigger sprite for Apocalypse instead of turning it into a literal background, kind of a waste.

One-hit everything is a understatement. I don't think it counts as a hit and does more than directly just doing damage. It also turns you into hardcore ghost.

The sprite of the sword alone doesn't look that great, but the rest looks AMAZING.
Moonlord fight with this be like:
* boss spawns *
* sees this shit *
* despawns *
With a little bit more polishing of the design, this would look amazing
Somehow the sword dosen't let any npc spawn in, even enemies, anybody knows why is that, also are you using normal tmodloader or 64 bit tmodloader?

There was nothing special. It's just a situation where he uses a high-damage wooden sword.
Why is it doing 2.2 million damage? What point in progression are you supposed to get this weapon?
The Super Dummies have HP equal to the integer limit, and the Judgement Bird attacks deal % max health damage.
The sword does PALE damage, which is proportional to the target's max hp.
