This depends on your country and your insurance. In most countries with most forms of insurance, you can go directly to the vasectomy doctor. In most of the world, vasectomies are performed by many types of physicians - urologists, family medicine physicians, gynecologists, etc. The important part of choosing a physician isn't the type of physician, but how many vasectomies they have done. For example, a family physician who does 2,000 vasectomies per year will likely do a better job than a urologist who does 10 per year. Just make sure your physician is experienced, uses the modern no-scalpel technique, and keeps practicing to maintain good gentle technique.

I think most plans cover it (it should be easy to check by looking at your plans list of covered procedures), just keep in mind, it will probably count towards your deductible, as I don't think it's generally considered preventative care. That was my experience at least.
Im a 28 year old whos not a fan of condoms, no kids but planning on having kids later in life. Is it easy to reverse it? Do u recommend having one for lets say 3 years then reversing it?
No, with an asterisk. The vasectomy shouldn't change anything anatomically that would affect ejaculation. However, premature ejaculation is sometimes more psychological than purely physical, and is tied to anxiety or stress of some kind. If that anxiety is a nagging fear of pregnancy, then a vasectomy could theoretically help with premature ejaculation. But that's kind of a long shot, and you shouldn't get one if that's the only reason, as it's not likely to help.
If the sperm has no outlet does it build up? And when you ejaculate does the sperm get pushed along the vasference and get blocked as it’s been cauterized and then build up and cause pain?
nope! the sperm is simply absorbed into the body and dissolves. the only pain should be the pain after the procedure that lasts 2 days to a week tops. make sure you research your surgeons before and ensure they’re not dodgy or clumsy. ask them about their previous patients recovery and success rate. and ask if you can have sperm frozen! if your surgeon/consultant doesn’t ensure that you know how the procedure goes or doesn’t tell you about sperm freezing, find another surgeon!

Correction for anyone who sees this, It is refersable but it can be much more expensive. In addition, the effectiveness of the reversal reduces if not done within 10 years of the initial procedure, and even more so after 20 years. By then you can forget it; not worth the cost, not worth the complication. Thus, Id go in with the idea of this being permanent.
Im seeing people say it was painless. Am i the only one that felt pain??? Twice i felt the pressure of the injection of lidocaine. I tensed up so hard i ripped the paper with my butt haha. But i was not on drugs or high during that injection. My buddies said they were and didnt feel a thing. I keep wondering if they were supposed to give me some kind of medicine before the numbing so i wouldnt feel the injection into the vas deferens.
oh man that sounds horrible D: they’re typically supposed to give you vallium to help you relax, and local anaesthetic so you don’t feel the pain of the procedure. with local anaesthetic, you can still feel what’s happening, but it blocks the pain receptors. you’ll definitely still feel the needle and the anaesthetic going in though. the option for vallium or a sedative should always be offered. totally different procedure, but when i had my implanon (female birth control, it’s a little rod they insert into the arm with a THICK needle), they offered to give me a topical lidocaine cream so i wouldn’t feel the needle of the local anaesthetic. i think that SHOULD be offered for vasectomies though i don’t know if it is. sorry to hear you had a bad experience!

Im considering,
The way the world is right now and where its going, and considering my affective range of wanting kids is 0 - 2, Id rather the freedom that comes with not having kids and being able to travel and enjoy my love unabated; just us and our fur babies.
We have no desire to use a baby as a status symbol, a means of keeping up with the Jones, a "necessity for human conservation ". Yeah whatever.
I will say, I did buy into the typical kid narrative, but Im slowly coming around.
Got mine at 19.
22 and married now, best investment I ever made.
I had mine done May of last year because I'm certain I will never want children. It may be only 99.95% effective, but I had it done 100% for me.
Please be aware of PVPS.
You listed very little pro or cons maybe try being a little more straight forward with your misleading titles
Can I go straight to a Urologist and schedule or do I need a Primary doctor referral?
You can schedule it directly with a urologist, you (in most cases at least) shouldn't need a referral.
I think if u got government insurance you do, but most private plans are cool about it.
Straight to urologist, regardless of public or private insurance.

Varying degrees of chronic pain.

@@leighbyford635 done decided..... i am not doing it...final decision
@@mrr4181 Its hard to know the best decision but it certainly comes with risk and the negative outcomes are quite bad, if technically rare.
Albeit 1 - 2%% risk of serious side effects in my opinion is not rare. Especially as they know they cannot readily fix the issue and also knowing you must cover the costs to try.
Its a fairly disingenuous industry, in my opinion.
really?
Bro.. my girl when i was 19 and now ehen im 20 wanned me to do this but we both want children later, i warned her it could be possible that i cant restore the ability to give children. She doesnt believe me💀 so yeah i wont do it for another 20 years at least
Have her watch some videos of the procedure being done and maybe she will change her mind until after your kids are born.
My only question is it painful after the procedure? If so on a scale 1-10 on the pain after?
hey there just wanted to let you know i had mine at about 11am yesterday. the procedures pain and discomfort is maybe a 3 or 4 and takes about 15 mins. i would say it hurts way less than even getting a tattoo. its the day after and im not even taking my pain meds because there's practically no discomfort at all. just ice and drink water and relax 3 or 4 days and you're set
Mines was bout a 5
Mine was a 4
Mine was about a 7
6 without ice, 2 with ice... ice packs are your best best best friend right after the procedure till day 5 or so 👍👍
Lol what a way to feel like less of a man 🤣 no thank you
you've got other compensatory issues buddy
Very clear and to the point... thanks indeed
Had one about 5 years ago after my daughter was born. I still have pain today when tying to perform :/
PVPS is a real thing
Could you still perform in bed the same?
@@RichHandsome When the pain is high it's definitely a hinderance...not gonna lie. It hasn't completely destroyed the whole game but it's good to be aware that there can be potential consequences.
Just one of the unlucky ones I guess.
I'll get it done when i turn 21 ,
your b-roll is wild. random closeup shots of doctors' eyes. why?
read a study documenting that vasectomy can increase prostate cancer risk...
I also saw that and Pple are just happy without knowing what's waiting in the Oven...
Hi brother why did the doctor used titanium clips on mine? I still have problem on the right side 2 years later

Got mine at 34, have two kids with my wife of 8 years. Neither I or she have regretted the decision. Procedure was easy, fast and relatively comfortable. Recovery was like 1.5 weeks to feeling 90% normal. Being free from unwanted reproduction risk is an amazing thing when youre done having children or never want them in the first place.
Do you see any changes in your mood like lack of energy or not movtivated to do something
I did not have as a good experience and a year after my vasectomy I had to undergo a reverse vasectomy to hopefully relieve the tremendous pain I would get from time to time during sex. From my experience I would advise anyone not to get it. I had my vasectomy in 2022 and got my reverse in 2024

Has doctor had a vasectomy himself? In that case he knows where he is speaking about.
Is the procedure covered by most insurance plans?
I think most plans cover it (it should be easy to check by looking at your plans list of covered procedures), just keep in mind, it will probably count towards your deductible, as I don't think it's generally considered preventative care. That was my experience at least.
Pullout method works everytime

Im a 28 year old whos not a fan of condoms, no kids but planning on having kids later in life. Is it easy to reverse it? Do u recommend having one for lets say 3 years then reversing it?
No
Reversal is $5-15k and can still be difficult to conceive (like trying to get a woman over 35 pregnant)
Being able to reproduce is one of God’s greatest gifts to you. By no means do you get that surgery done. Marry a good women and have a lot of kids.

Does vasectomy reduce premature ejaculation?
No, with an asterisk. The vasectomy shouldn't change anything anatomically that would affect ejaculation. However, premature ejaculation is sometimes more psychological than purely physical, and is tied to anxiety or stress of some kind. If that anxiety is a nagging fear of pregnancy, then a vasectomy could theoretically help with premature ejaculation. But that's kind of a long shot, and you shouldn't get one if that's the only reason, as it's not likely to help.
If the sperm has no outlet does it build up? And when you ejaculate does the sperm get pushed along the vasference and get blocked as it’s been cauterized and then build up and cause pain?
nope! the sperm is simply absorbed into the body and dissolves. the only pain should be the pain after the procedure that lasts 2 days to a week tops.
make sure you research your surgeons before and ensure they’re not dodgy or clumsy. ask them about their previous patients recovery and success rate. and ask if you can have sperm frozen! if your surgeon/consultant doesn’t ensure that you know how the procedure goes or doesn’t tell you about sperm freezing, find another surgeon!
is there any change in sensation or feeling during ejaculation or sexual climax?
Had mine done 6 months ago. Still the same experience!
nope! all a vasectomy does is blocks the sperm from joining the ejaculate fluid, it doesn’t effect the ability, sensation, or time it takes to orgasm.
Mine caused me ED
Getting mine done this friday.

Whyyyy would you do that to yourself? This is literally the end of the world I swear to God.
Because I don't want to have kids until I decide to. I'm 26 and at a point in my career where having a kid could prevent me from ending up with a 6 figure job because im fast tracking my career. But we know that one day none of that matters anymore and life has more meaning than just a " career "
I wish you the best but I would never recommend that to anyone.
Live your life and do your best. Chose your partner wisely and most importantly adopt a greater meaning in your life.
@@ibrahimghaitetali3889 For some, adopting a greater meaning in life is more difficult if you have to spend a huge chunk of it on raising children. And no, raising children before being able to comfortably financially support them is not a good example of having a greater meaning.
I hurd it’s reversible tho so I guess that’s not true
Correction for anyone who sees this,
It is refersable but it can be much more expensive.
I keep wondering if they were supposed to give me some kind of medicine before the numbing so i wouldnt feel the injection into the vas deferens.
oh man that sounds horrible D:
they’re typically supposed to give you vallium to help you relax, and local anaesthetic so you don’t feel the pain of the procedure. with local anaesthetic, you can still feel what’s happening, but it blocks the pain receptors. you’ll definitely still feel the needle and the anaesthetic going in though. the option for vallium or a sedative should always be offered.
totally different procedure, but when i had my implanon (female birth control, it’s a little rod they insert into the arm with a THICK needle), they offered to give me a topical lidocaine cream so i wouldn’t feel the needle of the local anaesthetic. i think that SHOULD be offered for vasectomies though i don’t know if it is.
sorry to hear you had a bad experience!
Had mine done today. Took the Valium they offered just before. I def felt pain. Enough pain to wince and grit my teeth. Could have used a rag to bite down on…
