I’ve had the pleasure to own the Ls430, Ls460 and now the Ls500 Fsport. They are all three different cars. In each iteration departing from it’s original soft, lazy and luxurious inception. You have to understand Lexus had to depart from its original recipe because of the massive amount of complaints. Every car journalist and their mother bashed Lexus for being too soft and boring. Excellent review, Kevin. I'm still driving the 18 LS, I just have not been able to let it go. In a strange way, the shortcomings of the car kind of appeal to me. The later versions do ride and shift better, but I love the original headlights, tail lights, and interior without the touch screen. I know Apple play and the like are important to most, but to me, they are not. The rear headroom and limo remarks you made are correct, but the lower roof line just makes the car striking to me from the outside. This car has a soul, and I like it more than when I bought it. The V8 would be creamier, but it's the non creamy yet old school feel that I enjoy, very much. Hard to really describe, but they are kinda quiet baller style.

After they stopped making the GS I was kinda forced to get the LS cause I always keep a SUV and a sedan. I blacked it out and it looks more like a sport sedan. I never like a lot of chrome. It handles really well for a big body and you get used to it pretty fast. I love this car and will keep it for a while.

People are criticizing the new LS but honestly to me the new S-class and 7-series look like they come from a different planet. This to me still feels like a traditional luxury car. Sure it's got some gadgets but they haven't gone overboard with it.
My gripe with the LS 500 are the tires. I have a 2021 LS500, paid over 90,000 dollars for the car and it came with those cheap Dunlap run flat tires that only last 10,000 miles. Out of my pocket I had to upgrade my tires to Michelines.
A great and informative video once more. I’m still in love with the 2016 LS460, the buttery smooth V8 is so satisfying, nothing beats the V8> displacement, the smoothness of a V8, V10 etc is just unmatched. The future is in smaller engines with turbos I guess.
I had a 06' LS430 UL and a 17' GS-F. Now eyeballing for a LS500 FS rwd. Lexus has over engineered the LS and GS for many years. For those of us who have given these vehicles a chance, we learned nothing else on the road is equal. Pursue of Perfection

Yes, the 2021 model is a must if only to experience the increased levels of comfort, there again this raises a dilemma, the 2018 infotainment system cosseted tucked away for a more refined cohesive appearance, not to mention the exterior front bumper with it's intricacies in design detailing, exquisitely blending an aggressive appearance with beauty, poise, presence. This summarised, would mean losing useful attributes from each individual 2018, 2021, 2023 models. Hey my friend; yours are the best and very nicely-informed Lexus videos around, and I have a question. I'm currently shopping 2018-21 LS500 F Sport sedans and the one thing I wonder is whether the "Dynamic Driving Package" with 4-wheel steering is something worth looking/waiting for and buying? Have you tried the LS with and without? If so, how much difference does it make? I saw another guy's review ("Motoman", I think) and he pretty much said don't even bother if it's not got the package and esp. the 4-wheel steering which shrinks the car drivingwise. I've owned long-wheelbase S-classes, as well as big Cadillacs, etc. and even a few full-size 60's American sedans and coupes (back in my 20s) and the "big car feel" is not a dealbreaker for me, although if the staid dynamics of the LS are substantially livened up by the dynamic package, I'd be interested. Question is, "Just *how* livened up?" Thanks for your advice!
I haven’t tried it personally on an LS 500 but it’s just not worth all the extra cost but since you’re buying one used and you find an F Sport that has the RWS then I suppose go for it because cars with rear wheel steer def do handle nice and certainly makes the car feel smaller. But when buying a new 2023 model, it’s not worth spending more than $80k on an LS 500 F Sport
This car, in my opinion is made to emulate japanese culture into something, its kind of a creative exercise. It is not made to beat or be better then other F-class sedan, its suposed to be unique, with its design, interior appereance, lighting and sound, not to be a autobahn blast like an s8 or 760Li. Hard sell when the $50k ES is so good
What are the cons of ownership? I'm looking at a 2018 LS500 with 82,000 miles on it........any information would be greatly appreciated!!!!
visit the NHTSA website and look up the manufacturer communications. Once you've seen that, buy the car CPO and dump it after the warranty expires.
