The New Polo facelift is the best value car in my opinion.
1. The new Polo has zero competition in the current market.
2. People tend to compare the polo to its bigger brother the golf 7.5 GTI or the golf 8 GTI as an alternative buy option due to the size and KW
Here is why I would by the Polo GTI over the Golf 7.5 GTI
Polo GTI
1. Its a 2022 neh! so this will matter when you want to trade in or sell the car in the next 5-6 years.
2. The design will be relevant for the next 6 years.
3. For 550K you are getting an almost fully speced Polo GTI with include warrant and maintenance plan for 120KM.
4. Its a new car not a second hand considering that its a sports car.
5. Lighter car which is fuel efficient.
Golf 7.5 GTI
1. its a 2017 car, by the time you decide to sell it its would be a 9-10 year old car.
2. design of the car will be less attractive.
3. IF you want a low KM GTI in the market you are looking at spending around 580K to 600K which might get you a 20 000K 2nd hand golf GTI.
4. you are buying it as a second hand car.
5. Out of warranty
6. Most of them are Out of maintenance plane if not next year is the final year.
7. Its to expensive for a second hand car.
My final opinion - I would by the Polo and time any day because no 1 its the best value for money car because if you think its expensive now lets have another chat when the next 2-3 generations launches and you have the current new polo GTI, my prediction is that people will opt for this one making it easy to sell because the next gen one is even more expensive. but expensive for who? topic of another day.

You never disappoint, excellent review as always 👌 . You sold me on the Polo GTI and damn the price might be high but hey Golf GTI is fetching R900k with options nowadays. I feel not South African enough if I don't atleast admire it😁, and the fact that we the only country on earth that builds the Polo GTI makes it our "stable car". In my opinion it has dethroned Golf GTI and by the way even though I don't understand Tshwana but hey I heard from your tone to get the hell away from those halogen lights 😂. Great review honestly and they should only let Mzansi people to review this car coz hey ....from Kasi to Suburbs "Cut,Cut".

As far as price goes, as consumers we really don't have much choice when it comes to new. Despite this, you won't be disappointed, it's money well spent. I'd rate the car a 7.8 /10 😁 By the way, matrix lights are standard on the Polo GTi. They are an absolute marvel of engineering. You leave your brights on auto when driving in load shedding and it takes care of dimming the correct side so as not to hurt the eyes of oncoming traffic. It's an extremely practical piece technology I tell you. Sunroof for me hardly gets used. All I need it for is the look so yeah, I guess it's acceptable to leave out. I will however insist on keyless entry, and that's for any car. It makes life very easy day to day, especially considering how often we may have our hands full when locking / unlocking our vehicle. If you going to go with those standard Milton Keynes alloys, I'd say the only good reason is because you going to sell them immediately and fit some OEM BBS, REVO, OZ rims instead. With some Michelin rubber to match of course👏 Otherewise it's just not acceptable to avoid the optional Faro wheels as fitted here. It's like she says, can't be driving a GTi with thise halogen lamps😂😂😂Great review here. Thank you.
How you managed to stay awake during the car wash is beyond me, i ALWAYS fall asleep 😭✋🏾 Ngl this review was too good and that car is gorgeous okay? Now thoughts are being thunked about it being my first car. The price is ridiculous though I won't lie but it's worth it

The IQ lights are standard. Optional features are leather seats, 18 inch wheels, tilting sunroof, beats sound system, park assist and lane assist technology.
And when you say there’s a lag in gear shift, you probably have it in sport mode. The car is probably realising that you’re not shifting with your paddle shifters and decides to shift for you. Please clarify if this may be the case. Thanks for the review.
What is the ride quality like on 18inch wheels?
I think vw doesn't have a solution for that turbo lag ,but 😊great review can't wait for another one.
