This song is definitely the best version I've heard live and it even beats the studio version to be honest

The studio version was overproduced and all of the heart and soul that's screaming out of this version got squashed.
Watching aurora go crazy while singing is honestly beautiful. She makes it look so *normal.*
Haha Lol Me too
*It is*, actually. She is on another level of perception, with more shades and flavors.
it's a gift!
And cosmic
@@FullMetalPier yes thank you!
After careful consideration and countless hours in contemplation, I've finally come to the conclusion that Aurora is in fact a fairy
me also think , she is something special =)
Her band and her are something special
Indeed. 💚💚💚
If I were to imagine one I would envision Aurora fa sho
Makes sense, the evidence is clearly all there.
The sound of Aurora and Silja harmonizing is the most angelic thing ever.
About time the Elf World sent us a good singer!
Not elf Norwegian witch.
@@gavincook4684 Same.
.elf or .exe?
not good but PERFECT
HANA is also a great elven singer 💜💜
This gives me chills everytime. The energy she creates is ancient, magical and so brightly dark
She’s channeling the universe it’s not dark or white it’s gray just like nature
Brightly dark, interesting choice of words
@@Red-Magic What we call black is in fact dark white...
This song is a masterpiece. I love how she has an almost out of body experience while performing and then she comes back to being herself at the end of the song. Brilliant!!
No duh
I just saw her live last night. One of the best performances I've ever seen. She's absurdly talented.
this is where it was?
@@munkusardyk1217 Yes
AURORA is AMAZING LIVE!!!!incredible performance
@@munkusardyk1217 Sorry for the very late reply; no, I saw here in Portland.
I hope one day to see her tour down in Florida. She is more than pure. She has brought me joy for a couple of years now.
I get this really comfortable vibe of insanity from this performance
@Lucas Castro lol perfect response. I think were so used to the restraint of society that actually entertaining the idea that you can experience the universe unbound is insane
I enjoy just reading your comments guys

those tribal sounds really hit hard like we were dancing in a campfire 20 thousand years ago
Yeah…her tribal music really takes me back lifetimes ago. Something I feel more that remember.
Yep
if u like these tribal sounds i think you would enjoy "The Seed" and "Hunger" byr AURORA
her tribal sounds r kinda whimsical haha
When she raised her hands while singing the chants .. it feels like she surrendered her body and soul to the music and became an art form herself.
Shes the only one of her kind... she must be protected at all cost..
i don't think she needs protecting Lol
@@spiralcat2000 she surelly doesn't need to, but I feel like I need to do
@@TedySilverhand why?

There aren't many bands anymore that sounds so tight-knit, and so GOOD live. They totally jive, they don't sound like different band members. They sound like one unit. THIS is pure ear gold. That reverb on the voices though... 😍😍😍😍😍

Umphreys Mcgee
Pigeons playing ping pong

Just to name a few
I recently discovered her 2 days ago and I can't get this song out of my head. Totally love how she fells this song. She reminds me of Björk
Welcome to the Queendom new Warrior/Weirdo!! :DD This is one of my favourites of hers! But my top will always be one called I Went Too Far..if you didnt heard it yet I highly recommend it!
I've been listening to Bjork for maybe 15 or almost 20 years. I respect the heck out of her and the absolute power move of how well crafted her music is, constantly. Given that said...
Bjork doesn't even come close.
Aurora has tapped into a new realm of musical mastery. Not in a Jacob Collier kind of way, mind you. Collier might be a literal musical genius, but even a person like him falls short of this kind of intensity and dare I say, magic in his music.
Aurora might, and just might remind me of the most visceral Sigur Rós pieces like I Gaer, Popplagid or Brennisteinn... but then again she takes it to the next level.
She brings eternity and human condition together.
Bjork could only dream of half this power.
Yes!!
So much more alive than the studio version! Love the drummer!! 👏
The drummer is truly amazing
Magnus is such a sweet cake that i would enjou very much eating
She fell in love with the drummer she fell
In love with the drummer
This is my favorite song ever. I've listened to it 137 times
Ok
Same ❤️
I can not get enough
that’s too much
And now?
What I love in this, is that your can clearly heard her Scandinavian roots... Truly beautiful and pure.
Indeed
This is the song you give them when the alien overlords ask you to show them what you got.
Lol
Sounds familiar 😂
HAHAH sweet rick and morty reference.
I LIKE WHAT YOU GOT
Rick and Morty 💯💯💯
Everybody’s heard of Billy Eillish but nobody’s heard of this fantastic talent.
Billy Eillish did. Billy admits Aurora inspired her music.
I guess I’m late to the show. I just discovered Aurora a couple of weeks ago. September 2021. Can’t get enough.
Actually Billie saw a music video of aurora at a young age and decided, that she wants to the same!
Fuck bully relish this is 10000 times better
Aurora got 5 Mio subscribers on youtube ... yeah, "nobody" heard of her ...
@hammer082 still nothing compared to billies following. Aurora absolutely blows billie away though not even comparable talent imo
i stumbled over a random video, heard her singing for like 5 sec, spend the whole day finding this song and man do i enjoy finding this.
Happy for you
This band is so fun to watch. Each player is unreal, especially silja sol and n backup singing to a perfect pitch. This is one of my fave live performances for sure.
My friend: what is this music, it is not heavy metal
Me: He re he ro he re hu ma
He re he ro he re
I died a little inside! 🥰❤❤❤
Kinda surprised at that, metalheads usually like AURORA
@@That_One_Fae I am a metalhead indeed, and I discovered them/her recently quite randomly, and I can't take their sound out of my head. They are special. It reminds me a little to Jónsi, don't know why, except for both being icelandic.
I'm into everything but when I get high I listen to bjork, aurora, jack stauber and many other amazing artists
They bring alot of meaning and when I listen to their music the melody trips me out
This is a true artist 🙌
TOTALLY !!!
I know, what a life force...Inspirational!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll never get tired of this song. It's like releasing a ball of emotions, pain and pressure out of my chest.

Watching this video was the first time I heard Aurora and this song. I was very impressed. Its perfect
Well worth the deep dive.
A M Let’s not forget to thank KEXP, my hometown station, for turning us on 🙂✨
Yup, the group is incredibly tight and polished.
My first exposure was Pandora Sessions "Running With the Wolves"
It was a strange one, but I am hooked on all of her music
By 2050... we will have something to look back on modern music history
Точно. Как сейчас "рамамба-хару-мамбуру" слушаем.
Aurora: “Churchyard” is just like the concept of someone bigger using their power in the wrong way, that happens all the time in politics, with children, women. I wanted the songs to feel empowering - like at the end of “Churchyard”, she comes back to haunt him.
Quote is from her Interview with the Independent. September, 2018.
There are few songs I play 2-3 times back to back each time I listen. This was one. One of the greatest songs I've ever heard and I grew up on rock metal and electronic. This song makes me tear up but it's never sadness
She is Art.
You have no idea of the amount of strength that your music gives my soul and my mind on its darkest moments... THANK YOU AURORA
This live performance sounds surreal.
I love it
I keep coming back to this performance and all I can say about it is: _if you don't love this, you don't love music._
oh yeah!! :)
This will never get old for me. I love all of her songs but this song is just so unique.
I agree ❤
I love those "he re ho ro he re ouma".
yea but wtf it mean
@@dinosoarskill17 Just some made up words I guess
My god I LOVE this version. I love how intense Aurora gets. And I haven't seen this mentioned a lot, but I love the drums in this song particularly? Magnus is really going for it and it shows. It just gives the song such a cool vibe. Thank you AURORA
she looks like she’s having so much fun 🥰
To me, this version of Churchyard is the best thing has Aurora ever made. What a performance, pure fire! Her band is awesome too 🔥
This song is definitely one of my favourites, its so emotional and powerful at the same time
What a performance, I stumbled upon this artist by accident today and this is my first encounter, blew me away

My one year old son really loves this ❤️ he smiles so much, his eyes light up and we dance together. Its so beautiful.
Thankyou so much. We really appreciate it 🙏
I love how comfortable she is feeling her music, so fkn cool
Her music comes so alive when we see her singing it. Her whole body is part of her voice somehow. And the band's singing here - wow!
Aurora and Reykjavik, what a combination. I've only visited once but saw a stunning female duo perfom surrounded by people half my age and felt so welcomed.
I don't think anyone can explain why Reykjavik is so special you just have to experience it yourself. Same goes for Aurora.
The sound...its mindblowing and unreal. I visit this specific performance very often.
There's so much serotonine rushing on her brain; OMG I just love her so much!!!
This song put me in a very specific moment of my life. Right after my wife quit me, this song came randomly in my youtube feed... since then, this song brings me so much memories... such a good song, thank you aurora.
I cannot express how much I love Aurora, Silja, Magnus & Fredrik ... to me they are the main band and I'd be gutted if that circle was broken. I'm 60yo and Aurora and the band really penetrate my being with great joy, optimism and happiness. It's not "just another band" it's a major happening to me and obviously I'm not Robinson Crusoe !!
What a talented, absolutely fascinating, beautiful being. I keep running into her stuff and thinking, "I want to like her music but I'm not finding the thing that really pulls me in." And here it is.
I fell in love with her music, She's Awesome
Im an old git 62, just discovered her music she is wonderful.
She sings with her BEING!! Absolutely love her!
There is something very spiritual about this song when I listen to it. It is like I am brought to a different plane. Brings me to a connection to the earth and all the people. Many of her songs make me feel this way and it is absolutely beautiful. She is an incredibly talented young lady.
That girl has the most sweet smile I have never ever seen in my whole life. REALLY. She's lovely.
Love the final chorus onwards, is so badass, mystical, powerful yet delicate and haunting
The type of absolutely crazy singer I freaking adore 🍀 She moves the way she feels the music the best, its her art
Aurora is amazing because she interprets music darkly and brilliantly, and combines complicated flights of expression with controlling every note to a T
This performance made me fall in love with Aurora soooo bad last year 😭😍❤️ It’s absolutely beautiful! I’m so happy I checked out her music and interviews after watching this. 😊
1:55 that little liq she sings is just an eargasm
Everyrhing about Aurora is beautiful.
Turbia? Lol
lol? 🧐
The only bad thing about this song is that it ends 😢😢😢
Aurora at 2:00 channeling the beat, the natural raw emotions she busts out is epic.
My favourite song of her from "Infections of a different kind" and it's sounds even crazier and more amazing live! Definitely one of my favourite performances of her!
I prefer this version than the original. I also like the original but when I listened to this for the 1st time... woaahhh, I felt in love!!!
Edited: Woah, I feel very "shocked" for the fact that my comment has over 300 likes xDD. I've never expected such amount of likes for a "simple comment". ¿Should I say thanks for the likes? I would feel stupid doing so. I know now that there´s more people that has the same opinion of this song as me.
Edited 2: Wow, today 29th June 2020 I turn to watch this video again, like a lot of times before, and I found that my comment has over double likes than last time (814) I checked it!!! I understand now why some people get excited and a bit "addicted" to likes hahahaha. It's been a year and half since I wrote that comment and here we are, a pandemic and a lockdown happening and actually I've seen Aurora in live since the Edited thing and I can say she was amaaazing in the concert. Thanks again to everybody who reads this and listen Aurora, she's the artist and protagonist!!!!
@Eric Henderson Hahahaha, absolutely. AURORA is doing it right.
Would sound perfect on a vinyl record, wish she'd release it! 😁
@Eric Henderson The live band makes a big difference over the electric beats. The albums are far too polished, it takes some of the edge off.
@@AlumarsX my thoughts exactly. The album is great, but is too sterile
Indeed. I love almost all of her songs, but Churchyard was one of the few I was indifferent to. That just changed! This version is greatness!
Somehow, this reminds me 90's and early 00's music. Don't know how to explain this, but when music flows with lyrics, and singing isn't just random words, or good singing with just random music, here singing just blends together with music, like one piece, singing and music just make one piece of melody. And most importantly, it's very rare for today's music, this song let's you'r imagination play :)
The song that made me "fall in love" with the music of this beautiful young lady.......amazing, best version of the song by a mile......
come back to this every couple weeks lol
back again what up
And again
This song lives rent free in my head and I love it
I usually listen to extreme metal, but this somehow speaks to me in the same, weirdly beautiful, way.
Same, really strange how my playlist goes from Slayer, Rammstein, Gojira to Aurora
yeah, i find it weird when people put their music taste in a box, just listen to whatever you want if it speaks to you then who cares what genre it is @wildhazz4507
House music fruitball here. This shit slappppsss
glad it wasn't just me honestly
An astoundingly great performance❤
Why she has so much vibe and energy, you can feel it every time you see it
She is awesome
This is the best thing I have ever seen...
When she's rockin out to the tune towards the end is phenominal
She is lovely and she has a lovely voice.. seems like such a free spirit, I wish I could fly with her in the frozen sky.
Sick dance moves. On top of the incredible singing!
2:44 ha-rá ha-ró ha-rá hú-mma
Here is the most important part of the song.
One doesn't need words to express the essential.
In this triumphant cry manifests itself the emotional denouement of the story.
This is how sounds the Spirit - powerful, passionate, profound.
Magnificent! 🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿⚡⚡⚡
My favorite part, too
It's like her angry spirit is back and going after "him"... A spirit whose love has turned into almost a hurtful revenge by the end of the song. It's a perfect composition.
That's why people live on this planet. To sing and listen songs like this
my friend told me to search for here hero here humma
and yes
True Story, I am his friend
Haha this just made me so happy. Merry Christmas btw, if you celebrate it
😂
No debo ser el único en pensar que esta mujer tiene la mirada de una Diosa en trance , dios te bendiga mujer.
I was so in awe, completely mesmerized when I heard her sing this live for the first time. She just does that. Her voice sounds so ethereal, and the way she dances in tune with her performance. She talks likes she's lived at least 9 lives. Fearless of being strange and genuine
im in love with siljia
Aurora and her band did a great song. She got a really special voice!
Loved the Cocteau Twins and Sugarcubes back in the day. This performance left me feeling awestruck, dumbstruck and thunderstruck all at once.
Neal Obus I second you on Sugarcubes, they were fantastic and weird, perfect for the times
For some reason her singing always makes me tear up, no matter what song it is. I think it's the honesty in her voice.
she's just mindblowing, what an amazingly rereshing and original talent.
"He told me I could walk away, but I wouldn't get far" Is basically the man I married when I was 19, I got away from him when I was 25 and now I'm 53 and loving how far I got. 😍❤🔥
You have got the strongness Aurora imprints in her song. It demands so much strenght to go out of there. That's the strenght which she and her band infuse in this song. I wish you're doing well and stay strong best wishes
Their live performance are just so good and always so varied from the superb studio versions.
How can you not fall in love with this entity called AUrora? Love at first sight.
just dont sell out, aurora, please! keep it scandinavian =) not cRAP music. =)
Oh my god the song is already so dreamy and yet her and her band managed to make it even dreamier! ☁️ 🔮🦋
we stan talent!!
What a performance! Her stage presence is truly mesmerizing. So powerful! It’s amazing how such a frail-looking, soft spoken Aurora just transforms herself on stage.
I'm struggling with depression and panic attacks. This song allowed me to feel better, this song allowed me to feel loved. This divine way she sings, like a lullaby (my inner child cried when I listened to it for the first time) this energy, you can feel that she cares, she lives it. This... This is art and I feel it.
Since 3 days ago I have listened to it constantly all day and all night long. I don't count, true inner peace can't be counted.
She's adorable. Lovable. Powerful. Moving.
remember listening to aurora the first time 2 or 3 years ago and thinking how incredible talented she is but sadly it is so hard to get acknowledged in todays world
I am so happy for her that she did it! millions of views all over her music videos or live clips... awesome, so deserved!
this is my favorite song and version of the song by her. pretty great.
there are no words that can actually do justice for her, she is phenomenal ❤ 💖 👏 💗
