    It's horrible what those folks had to go through. We are in TN currently checking on our house. Thankfully we are on the plateau and nothing hit us.

      Over the years we have experienced a small(very) portion of what they are experiencing. That was bad enough I just can't imagine what they are dealing with. Just heartbreaking and a helpless feeling for me. Been to WV where dad was from after big storms and floods. Just unreal the damage. Long recovery process if it ever happens. Some just don't recover. Thanks. Steve

    We live in upstate SC. It went right over us. 70 mph winds, 11 inches of rain. But lucky only normal flooding. Trees down on every road 93k without power. We were out 6 days but the linemen were out in force. 1 week later only 5k still out. The local lake Hartwell raised 6ft. For a 56000 acre lake that’s 110 billion gallons of water.

      Sounds rough. About the same when Isabel came through here. Trees down everywhere, no power, minor flooding etc. Glad things are starting to get better with power and all for you. 6 days with that powerful a storm ain't too long without power. Those linemen are good at their job for sure. Be careful and stay well. Steve

    I just remember wanting to buy a house close to the river and we toured one but since I love history I checked out the Ohio floods of 1913 and saw those pictures and we decided to stay far away from the river. Not everyone can do that I guess but that one town in NC built right up against the river......

      Kind of kept us from relocating also. We're almost completely surrounded by 2 rivers(James, Appomattox) and a heavy rain causes flooding in low lying areas. Got family in Marietta, Oh. Also built right on the river, low and flat. Been there after a storm or 2. They catch it from both sides. Water coming off the hills and the river rising. Thanks. Steve

    thanks Steve, I have been living in this nightmare since last Friday.... It is as bad as you are hearing. We all have worked around the clock to save and help people. Our community will survive and we are helping each other. Thanks for recognizing what's going on in WNC. We will survive!

      Usually what I go with also. A decade or so ago they helped my brother-in-law in SC after a big storm. It's going to take a long time for that area to just get back basic services. Take care. Steve

    Don’t think anyone imagined it would have been this bad. We have relatives there that we’re out of power for 7 days. Still no phones or internet. It’s heartbreaking how people are suffering

      Utilities are extremely susceptible in these storms. Takes forever to regain them. Water, electric, phones etc. We never miss them till they're gone from easy access. Thanks. Steve

    I related so much to this video. I would love to go help but know I would be a hindrance. The lithium/quartz issue is mind boggling and with the way our government is treating this situation, it is hard to not believe the theory. I saw a yt video yesterday from a priest questioning why anyone would vote for Mr T and spouted all the unproven bs. Never once trying to make it balanced regarding the people in power now. It's hard to not feel discouraged

      Kind of a helpless feeling. Want to do something but I'd be more trouble than help at this point. I got no proof on that FEMA thing but with the way our government is it's hard not to believe it could be true. Sad situation. It's hard but we have to keep our hopes up that things will get better no matter the election results. As bad as this storm was the actions of everyday Americans helps keep hope alive. Thanks. Steve

    The scary thing is I saw on you tube there were still 600 people missing. When they tell people to evacuate, where to people go for a safe spot?

    • @stevescorner2702
      @stevescorner2702  3 дні тому

      Yeah that's what I'm afraid of. So many little hollers and places, very isolated and hard to get to. The recovery will be long and hard. A safe spot in this storm would have been a problem. These areas of the country don't normally deal with this kind of emergency. About the only thing they could have done is watch the storm close and head where it won't be. Could be hundreds of miles away. Getting back will big the biggest problem. Might be weeks or months before they allow it and the damage is massive. Thanks. Steve

    Virginia has Trump and Harris tied. We need VA to go Trump.

    • @stevescorner2702
      @stevescorner2702  3 дні тому

      If Va goes Trump it will be a short night. I don't see it happening though. Most of our population is up near DC and the coast and they are pretty solid Dem. Hard to make up the difference with every other area. Hope it's close anyway, that would be a good sign for the rest of the night. He's got my vote anyway. Thanks. Steve
