You‘ll need more than that if buying new. I also always wanted one, had the cash to buy one, but not so sure I want one now, with how the ADs had behaved the last few years.
Retired 23 years ago dumped my 3 piece suits, ties, shoes, dress shirts, watches (no Rolex’s 😢) put on a pair of trunks and left S. Calif. on my sailboat and anchored in Costa Rica. Simple lifestyle and no need to impress anybody called down here living “Pura Vida”. 🌴😎🌴
I got a GMT in 1968 when I graduated from Purdue. Every 5, 7, or 10 years or so I'd have it "serviced" by Rolex. Used to cost about $200-300 for service. Last year it was almost $1,800. When it got back to the dealer (from Rolex in Lititz, PA) they asked me how I got it. I had never really paid any attention to all of the hype - I just wore it. They asked a lot of questions I couldn't answer. But since then I've learned from videos, all about the bezel, the T
I bought my Rolex in Bangkok and they assured me it was genuine..It didn't have a box ,just a plastic bag and cost $50. I must have got a bargain then..😂
I will stick with my $30 Timex watch bought at Walmart. All stainless design is both pretty to look at and very comfortable. And if I forget it in a public place I will just find another. Gives great time and batteries every 3-5 years.
I bought my first Rolex in 1986, it was a stainless Sub for $1,400 to reward myself for my miserable one and only army tour as an officer. Bought a gold and steel Daytona, white face with gold sub dials for about $12,700 back in 2006. Finally, bought the stainless steel GMT II for about $7,500 in 2009. I couldn't come close to affording them now.
I wanted a Rolex gmt for years, it was my grail watch. I was finally able to get one, thanks to a divorce, I became debt free, walked through fire to finally get divorced. I’ve had my Batman for 7 years, love it.😊
A very powerfull brand. Even among the top brands in the world. As said here, the master of micro engineering. But their brand building among so many other high quality watch makers has been astonishingly differentiating from others. Wimbledon Tennis tournament is just one example, how goid they are in branding. Owning the Rolex is more a feeling than anything. Its not only the quality ppl want, but much more status. Rolex offers both. All hugh quality watches can offer accuracy of time, but no one the status of Rolex. So their success will continue. For ever.
I've had the Yachtmaster II for about a decade and it is still pristine. I love it and have no desire for any other watch though I do have a couple Apple Watches for casual wear. The YM-II is quite a bit more expensive than what you mentioned at the end.
@turbyoul I was told by an ex AD that and I will use this as an example. Say a Rolex watch is Listed at rrp at an AD's for $10,000. The AD buys it for 68% .In this analogy it is bought for $6,800. So Rolex make a considerable profit on that $6,800 and has to , pay it's staff and pay the electricity bills and advertising and shipment/s, etc, So this $10,000 rrp priced watch is actually made for around a third devoted to parts and labour costs. So it makes about $3,300 profit on each watch and pays NO TAX because it is considered a charity . Now Flipper's are willing to buy that $10,000 watch for $12,000 from n AD and know they can flip it for $16,000 or more on the Grey market. That is ROLEX in a nutshell.
You nailed my point, bearing in mind the primary role of a wrist watch is to keep the correct time a Rolex is beaten every time in this function by a £50 digital Casio, its undeniable, which makes the Rolex just an over priced time piece or a fashion accessory, probably a bit of both really. @@whereRbearsTeeth
Every Rolex sold. ( 1.000 fake Rolex sold ).. will you pay big money for real Rolex or buy 50$ Rolex. And have collection of fake Rolex. You imagine having 1000 fake Rolex 1000 fame omega..1000 fake collection of watches.
Instead of one million watches, Rolex are going to produce more than two million watches per year by building a new factory. All Rolex watches are all made by hand🤣. All the marketing of Rolex is a big scam, and people believe in it.🤣
Anyone who actually purchases any of these watches, regardless of their personal wealth, is, as my wise old Daddy used to say: "They are too dumb to pour piss out of a boot, even if you cut a hole in the toe and wrote the instructions on the heel"!
You can get super clones that no one can spot without 30X magnification for $1,200. Rolex's reputation has plummeted so far that the super clones are widely seen as the same level of class. They proved that you can build at 98% quality and sell for 5% the price while still making a profit. Think about that for a minute.
Wearing a replica may fool others but can't fool the wearer. In my book a Rolex is for rich people, whether they are old money or nouveaux riches, so I'll never own one as I'm not rich. I'm happy with my Omega & Tag, which are in synch with my financial standing and social status.
I’ve got 4K put aside for my first Rolex. I only want it to give to my son when I pass.
You‘ll need more than that if buying new. I also always wanted one, had the cash to buy one, but not so sure I want one now, with how the ADs had behaved the last few years.
I hope you live long enough to achieve that goal.
I've given up trying to buy one. Authorised dealers just don't want to know. I've spent my hard earned elsewhere.
SO STUPID? ITS A WASTE OF MONEY.SO MEANINGLESS

The watch you showed is not a OP, it is a date just, which comes in 31mm, 36mm and 4mm.

I liked the smaller size explorer with white gold numbers on the dial
Ordered a Rolex Explorer II Polar Dial 226570 3 months ago...Im patiently waiting...will wear it till I go to Heaven and leave it to my son-in-law.
Good luck paying anywhere near these prices, although they are coming down at the moment
Looking forward to make a video regarding the dropping price of rolex watches

How does the Explorer show two different time zones with just 3 hands?
THE DAY-DATE (AKA THE PRESIDENTIAL) IS THE ONLY WATCH I LIKE OF ALL THE ROLEXS.
The Daytona bevel is upside down on the bottom unless it's a rotating bezel?
Rolex daytona and Explorer II have a fixed bezel
Wearing a €10,000 watch is just not a sensible move . .
👍
Mine is an old 1967 one, a 5513.
Imgot GMTII since 1995 n i lavette..

My experience with NKUWAN was fantastic. The watch arrived quickly and was exactly as described.
My favorite Daytona Golden Rouge leather strap.
The Explorer in the video cannot show two time zones, but the newer Explorer II can.
Id love a Day Date but they only come in precious metal cases. 😖
Wir kaufen unsere Rolex in der Türkei auf dem Basar .... ( 25 € )
Massive waiting list 😂 give it a rest have you seen how many are on Chrono 24
Ok
I have to say that NKUWAN 's watches is amazing!
great video
I own a 1973 I8ct gold Rolex with Gold Belt which was given to one African Leader by King Faisal of Saudi Arabia it is priceless ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Well well well what have we here then 1973 18 carrot. That's nothing to brag about I've got 10 rolex watches. Anybody want to buy a watch...
But do they keep good time!!!!!!!!!! mmmmmmmm ask someone who has one, they will tell you!
Yes, guaranteed +/- 2 seconds per day, which is very good for any mechanical watch.

Still to expensive however better…waiting list ridiculous get I phone Rolex created the whole dealer issue in called for
ive owned 3…two oysters and currently an AirKing….all beautiful…but will not keep the accuracy of my old Heuer
Well if the watch bandits didnt know they know now😅😅
Acs
So much inaccurate information in this video
Not really. There are many top end brands some more sophisticated chronographs and some fashion. Rolex covers both
Rumor is Rolex bid high for Paul's watch for the publicity. And it worked! Or they worked!
