Why We Sleep is out now: amzn.to/2JugGKV
Sleep is one of the most important aspects of our life, health and longevity and yet it is increasingly neglected in twenty-first-century society, with devastating consequences: every major disease in the developed world - Alzheimer's, cancer, obesity, diabetes - has very strong causal links to deficient sleep.
In this book, the first of its kind written by a scientific expert, Professor Matthew Walker explores twenty years of cutting-edge research to solve the mystery of why sleep matters. Looking at creatures from across the animal kingdom as well as major human studies, Why We Sleep delves into everything from what really happens during REM sleep to how caffeine and alcohol affect sleep and why our sleep patterns change across a lifetime, transforming our appreciation of the extraordinary phenomenon that safeguards our existence.

I used to dream alot. When my alcohol abuse started, I stopped dreaming like completely. Hadnt had a dream in 8+ years. I quit drinking almost 12 months ago and I just now started dreaming again. Its crazy it took 11 months of sobriety to start dreaming again. I guess its different for everyone as our bodies are different. I used yo have bad sleeping issues which I thought I was helping with alcohol. I definitely went to sleep but prolly horrible sleep. I went on for 8+ years like that. I will never go back to that BS. Lol. Its very interesting how my brain is i guess adapting back to sobriety but even more crazy is how long it took. The brain is pretty awesome though
