I am older and still have fond memories of this, the 60s Spiderman, Ultraman, George of the Jungle, Underdog and so many other great shows. I would literally run home from school so I did not miss the openings of the shows. They don't make them like this anymore.😔
“Giant robot, attack!” I remember being four years old watching this show with my older sister and brother who were both 2 to 4 years older than me. I loved giant robot and imitated being the little boy Johnny controlling the robot in saying those words, “Giant Robot attack!” Bring this show back! So many people need to know about this cool show!
Ha ha,..very true dude.. I have also done those amidst school friends,...those were so very innocent days,.. Doordarshan will start at 5:30 p.m and end by 11:30 p.m.,...people had rime,...10-12 km/litre scooter was more than enough,.....hmm today,.Reality bites :-)
Still the absolute best and my all-time favorite monster movie and the greatest monster movie theme music. This carries me back to my childhood days in the early 70's. Love those innocent times. Things were so great back then. Family still in tact.
In 1982,me n my sister used to wait eagerly in front of our new color TV for giant robot to begin in doordarshan on Sunday's. We were captivated by the show. Those were beautiful times for kids in Delhi. No pollution, no traffic jams n almost no crime
Spectre man, ultra man, giant robots and Johnny Solo, wow. Seeing these brought a much needed smile to my face. I loved all these Chinese overdubbed movies back in da 70,s. I'm 50 now and forgot about these.
I was 9 years old watching this serial.. I missed the last episode and was shocked to hear that Giant Robot had died.. my friends narrated me the story of last episode.. till date did not got the chance to watch last episode..
I was 7., same situation.. I could NOT have possibly missed the last episode..I reckon there must have been a power failure ..at our old Godrej station side in Vikhroli ..but teary eyed when I saw the last episode on YT😢
Tenia 10 años cuando lo veía tele en blanco y negro la pura musica me ace casi chillar....hoy tengo 49 años que robot tan chingon neta......saludos desde Durango raza.....
Hahahahaha. Thursdays were a school off for us. (Thursdays and Sundays) so I would watch it on Wednesday evenings without the pressure of finishing my homework for the next day.
I was 3years old... But somehow I remember this series, I was talking to my friend the other day about this series who is 7years older then me... He was surprised that I remember it... We all used to watch together...
That music theme made the opening really special. Japanese theme music in the 60's & 70's were the best. For example Godzilla and Gamera the flying turtle.
I used to watch this faithfully, and now that I have seen this again, it looks like Giant Robot actually invented the Dab. At 0:58 and 1:16 he does it so well.
I've always loved Johnny Sokko and Giant Robot as a 5 year old Kid and me and Johnny would be the same age right now if he hadn't died at the age of 38 In a car accident RIP Johnny I'll always Love You and Giant Robot i use to rush home from school just to watch Johnny Sokko as a kid and til this day in St Louis Mo I'm 58 years old now and I'm watching Johnny Sokko on Comet TV all those good old episodes channel 11.3 in St Louis
Hats off to Johnny Somko and his Flying Giant Robot St.Louis Mo. I will always watch this show for as long as it airs Saturday and Sunday mornings at 6am on the comet channel in St Louis Mo i Love this show wish i had souvenirs
But one of my big questions was how did Johnny Soko know Giant Robot had all those special features? Dr. Luchefs Gardian definitely didn't explain all that to him before he set that timer to blow up that science lad and Gargoyle Headquarters. I'm just saying! 🤷🏾♂️
I remember running home after school and turn on the TV channel 52 at 3 p.m. and then after that Kimba the White Lion the good old days or giant robot was my favorite he was destroying King Kong and Godzilla I really wish they will make a remake giant robot it'll be the coolest movie ever.
The Giant Robot would be deemed racist today against the Egyptians because he looks like the Sphinx and everyone will apologize, a few people will lose their careers and be branded racists for life. Someone else will complain Giant Robot's skin paint is too racist because it is white instead of black and someone else will say the whole show is racist against the Japanese and voice over actors in english are racist
Im 51 years old and the ending still makes me cry. Good childhood memories.

Wow a wonderful memory, we used to sit in front of a single TV set and watch it.... those days are gone 😪😅
Asif Kazi when I grow up I plan on becoming a movie director and one of my plans is rebooting Johnny Sokko and his flying robot.
