Sadie is learning the craft of acting right in front of our eyes. I predict she is going to be one of THE standout female actors of this generation, if she isn't already. Aronofsky has always had the ability to bring out the very best in any actor. This guy truly knows what he's doing.
@ChobbleGobbler her acting made me feel hurt. So yeah, she's a good actress and i still have feelings with this movie, I feel my trauma moving inside me 🤕
Ya he gave mickey rourke a comeback and he should have won the oscar. He brought the best out of jared leto and marlon wayans. He brings the best out if everyone
Sadie will have an Oscar in the future. She is such a tremendous physical performer. The twitch reactions and the way she mastered that cat/yarn dynamic. I watched the movie to see Brendan Frasier's performance but Sadie wowed me just as much.
This movie delivers hope. The last 10 minutes and the ending made me overwhelmed and burst in tears. Such a great movie and the actors. It deserves a second viewing.
This movie broke me and connected to me in a way I didn’t know it could. Definitely a 2022 fav and Brendan and Sadie both give incredible performances along with everyone else
What I love the most about Sadie Sink (that I haven't seen in a child actor since Lindsay Lohan) is that she projects this tough-as-nails exterior with a lot of vulnerability. Even when her characters are yelling, swearing, and becoming violent, you can still see that little girl inside.
Althought I haven't watched this film, I read so many good reviews about Sadie's acting and I wish she had gotten nominations, but I think the commentary alone and the ensemble itself will bring her more projects in the future. She's definetly a rising star and has a great future.
@asava17 you can tell Mother! was a much more difficult film to make than The Whale. Less intimate and more shocking. Probably reflected in his behavior
Loved the way they both broke down the scene. There are so many elements to the scene that I absorbed but didn't really notice until now. Just incredible!
My husband and I watched this movie last night on Vudu it made me cry. Brendan Fraser really did a great job I’m thankful that he won his first Oscar! He deserves nothing but the best!❤
This movie is a masterpiece in my book, Brendan and Sadie's performances are phenomenal (or rather all the actors are) and Aronofsky's direction seems more mature than The Wrestler. I think he's still evolving.
2:45 Celebrated Hollywood director Darren Aronofsky learns the secret of great cinema by being taught wisdom by a production designer who watched an episode of FRIENDS.
The best movie of all time. I've said that several times, but this film genuinely is the best. Emotionally engaging, and the ending... You've got to see it
Really excited for this film to come on in my country, Aronofsky is a master and I just know I'll be an emotional wreck by the end credits, in a good way.
I loved The Whale. My number 2 movie of 2022. I just hope that going forward, Sadie can get some different types of acting roles. The troubled broken teenager with a huge attitude can only go so far.
Ellie was such a good character. I really felt for her. The fact a lot of people in real life don’t like Ellie shows how misunderstood she really is, which is what makes Charlie’s ability to see Ellie for her all-encompassing and beautiful aura even sweeter and more tragic.
2:45 that's what literally every single sitcom does. And I always thought it made no sense. Nobody has their couch in the middle of the room unless they live in a huge house. It's always against a wall, becuase couches have flat backs. They are purposely designed that way, to go up against the wall. Same thing with TVs. Most of you arent old enough to remember old school TVs, with the big butts. But they made them flat for the purpose of being hung on a wall. Same with smartphones. They're flat and small so they can fit in your pocket. Because smartphones aren't ergonomic at all to your hands. The original mobile cell phones were. But they couldn't fit in your pocket. Unless you had very large pockets. But it would always bulge out. But I much more enjoyed using those phones more, because they were sturdy in my hands. Common smartphones are horrible to hold.
OMG. I noticed that open shoelace and thought it was a little mishap. But it made me nervous as an open shoelace does. Crazy to think Aronofsky put that in on purpose to provoke exactly that feeling. Wow.
Max is brave, loyal and loving. She loved her friends, she cared even about her abusive brother. She literally sacrificed herself for others. Ellie is pure evil. Their only similarity is they had troubled childhood and they have a cold exterior
Sadie Sink clearly has eyes to be a director or producer. She understands the whole picture.
I'm actually really excited about this youngster.
yeah ,i think she knows how much director makes compare to an actor, thats why....
I'm so delighted to see Sadie get more dramatic roles, both this movie and the latest season of Stranger Things gave her more time to shine.
She’s a fantastic actress
She was absolutely incredible in The Whale
Hopefully she’s nominated for an Oscar
@@lucapasvolsky1677 Right, she deserves it!

It’s so crazy to see someone so young be so sure and detailed with her craft. Sadie is going to be a renowned actress within years
She is so classy for her age too

Yes
Her character is kind of a bit of the one she plays in stranger things?.....

love hearing both of them talk about all the little details (the ring, the books in the background, etc.), it really shows how much they care
I’ll watch anything with Sadie in it at this point. She’s just phenomenal.

They're both natural redheads... really hard to see someone as mean when they have freckles and skin you can see blood vessels through.

Darren seems so much friendlier than his reputation suggests

Sadie's performance in "the whale" is spectacular, and perfect at the same time🤩🤩
I hope the DVD releases with an extended version or just hours of bonus features. I can't get enough.
I hope they do another movie together in the future when Sadie starts playing adult roles
Aronofsky is truly amazing.
The Whale is once again another masterpiece that is truly meant to be as a movie. Next to Requiem For A Dream.
i like how Darren Aronofsky looks to her to make sure he's getting the facts right about his own film, haha. It's endearing.
I noticed that too. He treats Sadie with so much respect, it's actually adorable.
My husband and I watched this movie last night on Vudu it made me cry. Brendan Fraser really did a great job I’m thankful that he won his first Oscar! He deserves nothing but the best!❤
The Whale is incredible. Undeniably one of the best movies of 2022.
Being aggressive through acting is surely cathartic, it takes a ton of strength to hold that in : aka being a ‘nice person’
Sadie's stylist needs a raise
I haven’t seen the movie YET. I just came on here to say that Sadie’s outfit is AMAZING!✨ omg that dress is so pretty! I want it😂 and her makeup.
I saw this movie a few months ago at the Savannah Film Festival and absolutely loved it. Can't recommend it enough!
The attention to detail in this film is INSANE. Aronofsky is amazing.
Arronofsky's directing is always brilliant
Sadie deserved an Oscar nomination for her performance imo
I will definitely watch this since Sadie sink is in it .
Love her so gorgeous very talented an incredible actress .
Glad to see this movie is doing well.

Most interior designers number #1 rule is Couch shouldn't be against the wall....lol
Sadie sink is gonna be a superstar within the next 5 years. She already is but i see huge success and fame in her future.
Sadie sink is a real beauty. Wow 😍
Nothing can compete with vanity fair on youtube anymore. They have the most interesting vids
i would love to see ty do an interview for the whale

Sadie is slowly becoming one of the best actresses of her time. She's so talented.
Darren is such an amazing director
Sadie chillin w/ Aronofsky, doing big thangs. Get it girl!
I am so excited for this film! Can't wait for it to come out on screen here in Norway :D
Sadie ❤️
Sadie is excellent. A lot of the younger Actors I’m not a huge fan of but she’s a Real Movie STAR! ⭐️ I can’t wait to see her in more films.
Darren's sweater makes my skin itch just by looking at it.

Requiem for A Dream Scarred me for life
Aronofsky is one of the best directors today, Pi, Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, The Wrestler, Mother, all great.
I noticed the shoe lace immediately and thought that's a nice touch if it's intentional
Eu super veria um documentário da vida inteira da Sadie segundo por segundo
Sadie is one of our next great great actresses. I also think she’s magnificent looking.
I need to this movie asap
Incredibly movie and made me cry a lot
Please stream the movie somewhere or show it on cinemas in Peru :( I want to see this so bad.
I recommend renting it on UA-cam if you haven't been able to see it yet
Sadie Sink deserved an Emmy for Stranger things and an Oscar nomination atleast for the Whale. This awards shows just ignore her.
I love Brendan Fraser
Sadie will you be my Friend ❤😊

sadie will definitely be a future oscar winner shes got a. bright future
I noticed the shoelace and thought it was just something that happened and the director kept it just because it made it more real.
Sadie is so cute.

Just clicked to say that Sadie Sink looks like Elizabeth Olsen in the thumbnail.
Ooh, love her ❤
Great to see Steve Jobs back on track again, testing the waters in the movie business as a film critic! 🙂
