You sold me right off the bat! I bought mine right before they sold out about the beginning of May '24. Delivery was rough on it, and e-mailed Lampro who in-turn e-mailed me back with replacement parts if wanted. He even offered the 2nd 15Ah battery with this new pre-order offer he's running . Anyway, I'm 67 and have 4 - 20" fat-tire foldables, a modified Lectric XP 2.0 with a air-fork and 750W Bafang rear hub motor, a Polarna M5 , a ViTiLan i7 Pro, & a new Mihogo NX, all set up with 2nd batteries and voltmeters to monitor the batteries. So after getting this Furious e-bike, I'm sold on the pure, flat out performance of this bike. I've only ridden it three times so far and have been dialing it in with the shifting, seat and the torque settings. I love the adjust-ability they have left in the controller display to adjust your preferences into the bike. The Guide front fork is the cushiest, most responsive hydraulic, I've ridden to date, and that's over the air-forks on my other foldables. I will admit, there are some production miscues on the design, like what Citizen spoke about with the down-tube motor cable for the front wheel, which I found can be relocated into the battery cavity, away from harming objects. the cut-outs for the cabling in the controller box at the bottom bracket area has sharp edges that could cut and chaff the cables, wires and cable housings as well as the hydraulic lines. I took a Dremel tool with a barrel sanding roller to smooth out those edges I could get to and stuffed a firewall grommet in the rear hole for the rear motor cable. My derailleur cage protector got pushed into the derailleur, bending both of them, and breaking one side of the rod of the protector at the weld. I found a new one on Amazon that is way beefier and actually fits better than the original. But the derailleur is needing some serious realignment and adjustment to get it back to smooth function. The fork steerer tube was capped off with a normal head set cap and bolt to hold the tube in the frame for shipment, but UPS delivered it upside down on the steerer tube, which was by now, protruding out of the box and all scratched up. I documented the whole shipment receipt with pictures before opening the box. The UPS guy was in a hurry, because he dropped it off out close to the street just under my aluminum driveway carport. I couldn't catch him to complain to him about how he and his company handled that shipment. Fortunately Lampro is well aware of this, and is working on resolutions to correct future incidences. (Oh, and the stem replaces the cap on the steerer tube so the cap was a shipping temporary thing.) Final thought...I do LOVE this bike! 🤩
Hey do you ride it more like a motorcycle or do you end up actually pedaling? Im 5"11 nearly 50 years old. Im trying to justify a purchase so i can do SOME exercising every now and then lol. The kid in me totally wants this as a toy.
@@whoanelly- It rides like a motorcycle! It is the best riding bike I've ridden yet. Funny thing is I have only been using it in PAS 3 (out of 5) most of the time because I can achieve the 35 mph in it by shifting to the higher gears. I relocated the chain ring on the crank to the outside of the crank mounts to gain more clearance between the sprocket teeth and the rear chain stay, and recently upgraded to a 58 tooth chain ring. Looks like I will need to go up all the way to the 60 tooth sprocket to maintain some pedal resistance at those higher speeds. With the torque sensor the amount of pedal pressure results in the amount of assist you get from the motor and at 110nm of torque, that's plenty enough to get out of the way of things. Presently I'm getting a little more than 30 miles (2 - 15 mile rides) out of the dual 20Ah 60v batteries paralleled together. I could probably do 40 miles, but I haven't increased my 15 mile route yet and time wise need to keep the rides within the hour period of time. Appreciate your comment. When deciding where to buy, customer service is the most important factor for me. Indeed, on two other AWD bikes I was considering I saw a number of complaints about poor or rude customer service AFTER the guys bought their bikes. (That is a typical pattern, isn't it.) So when I read comments such as yours, that motivates me to make the purchase.
My thoughts on the exposed motor control wire is to make front tire changes safer and easier. Some AWD bikes that route the motor wire in frame don’t give you enough slack and installing a new tube & tire can be tricky. Especially if there’s no disconnect. By the way, I ordered one for my wife due in large part to the 5 second clip showing your lovely 5’4” wife riding away. My wife is also 5’4”. It’s not easy to find a bike she can safely fit on that will also facilitate ME. Thanks again for all your time and effort making these videos!
I can't understand why manufacturers don't unevenly distribute the power between the rear and front motors given most of the weight is on the rear wheel. In this case 60v 1000 watt rear motor with a 60v 500 watt front motor would be far better. Same overall power and speed on the road but much safer. Especially off-road and on beach sand. When I go beach fishing with my dual 1000w AWD e-bike (to get over the sand dunes) I can never use full power because the front wheel just goes crazy. If it had 1500 watts on the rear and 500 watts on the front I could probably use full power in more situations when needed.
@@rickbarber8399 My other bike is a Wired Freedom so the weight is fine. It's very maneuverable. I built it in my kitchen and sort of carried it out the door with no issues. Once a bike hits 80 lbs or so, I feel they are all the same. I also have a Fabulous Trail Step which is full size 27 inch and they all feel similar. Heavy but not unmaneuverable,
pre ordered and emx about a month ago. I have received an update from fabulous that the bikes are about to ship, and the motor wire has is fact been updated and is now ran through the frame with the rest of the wires.
I was hoping Citizen would answer my question about Wired vs this. I already have the 2024.0 Wired Freedom, as the Cruiser with suspension didn't exist in November. I pulled the trigger and gave the $200 for the Pre-order of this bike. I may sell my Wired and my Wallke H6 MAX with 60 Ah, as this bike screams at me that it has nearly everything I want. Torque sensor is a big plus for me as a person who prefers to pedal. With 4 e-bikes and an e-scooter in the garage, I'm thinking a couple need to go, so my car still fits in...lol I think this 70 yr old will love this if it performs like Citizen shows. Would be nice if they tucked that front motor cable into the frame as he pointed out.
Nice bike but only pre-order as of now with projected delivery starting in August. I think they should have targeted getting the bikes out early in the riding season.
Fabulous/Furious makes really nice high power bikes, and this one looks like their best so far. So nice to see an innovative and unique powertrain and frame. Price might be a little too high with recent competition but what a great choice to the Grizzly and all the other e moped bikes that pedal like a clown car.
Hi, I’m considering the furious emx but I wanted to know which I can’t find on their site how is there customer service and return policy also if I need any parts. Thank you
The reason that motor wire is on the outside is so they can replace it in case there is any issue with the motor. Or at least that is my thought on it. I would like to see turn signals on front and back on more electric bikes
There was just no more room on the inside so logically we would keep the motor wire on the outside for easy access, but i do agree we can run it into the controller box a little higher up...and we will!
Great review. Power to pavement dense bike, all well tested... As a rider on those CST Scout tires... just don't try 'carving' at higher speeds, they are surely grippy, and nice to look at, they are floaty tires with little structure at high speeds.
Almost perfect in my book. I'm used to riding a Radmini hardtail, and it would be great to have this for when I don't need to put a bike in the trunk of the car. I think the Julet connector on the motor wire is why they left it outside. You'd have to remove all the other wires to get that one wire out, and it would be a service hassle. I have those same brake rotors, except in 180mm size. They are floating rotors which center themselves, and that means less drag and fewer adjustments. Traction while hill climbing is the downside of dual motors, and there are mountain bike trails I ride that this could not go on for that reason. Other than that, I love it 🔥🔥
That's like the crossover SUV of ebikes. Is the rear motor cable a quick disconnect or is straight from wheel to controller? If so they may have left it outside for flat tire fixes when you need slack in the cable to get the wheel off.
Bro, you remind me of Matthew McConaughey, I felt like I was listening to a celebrity review of an Ebike, lol. Ok, all that aside, the one thing you never mentioned was "range". What's the average range/charge. I'm 62 years old and have some health issues that prevent me from high-impact exercise, and I've fallen way out of shape. Too many hills around here for me to jump on a non-powered bike, I'd never get far enough to do any good, but a Ebike can get me over the hills with some assistance...perfect solution to the problem. I really like this Furious EMX, powerful enough to get me over the hills and small enough for me to easily store...but, what's the range? LOL Thanks.
@BooDevil65 I'm in Hillsborough, I'm thinking about selling it and getting the new motor goat, it's a little smaller and might fit me better. Saddens me though because I absolutely love this bike. I havent really decided yet. I can't stand flat foot at a stop without getting out of the seat.
great review. It looks like it could be below 68" long which would mean fitting in elevator. The traction control setting is a big winner, and I think fabulous is a leader in this. KD displays are the best, ad this has a lot of extra settings with temperature compared to other controlers. Power seems plenty. Even if a bike had more, its not worth it for the features this bike does have. Is it at all possible controller has 2x25amps?
Yes! It has dual 25A Controllers. I owned mine and have added a second 20Ah battery to it so I put my eyes on the controllerS stuffed in the lower box. 😉
Great review Mr. Citizen. The option to get the 2nd battery to the rear rack for $200 more is a game changer and is now my favorite 20" ebike. Plus an extra $300 off pre-order with dual motors makes this a very competitive price. I'd highly consider this Furious EMX if I hadn't pre-ordered the Wired Crusier.
@@Wapap The new updated step thru design and integrated 2 batteries installed w/battery blender at 60V 20ah/ 15ah with no increase in price. The out the door price with sales tax, insurance and shipping to CA was slightly over $2,400. Hope that helps!
@@tonygavros3499 I love my Wired Crusier received in July. Furious is a great ebike! Either way, torque vs cadence, is a win win, just personal preference. Have fun with your Furious!
This looks like a good bike. They have a fat tire 60v dual battery awd bike (road warrior ultimate). Has dual 750w hub motors thats about $2500(on preorder). Looking between this and the wired freedom with the single hub 1500w hub motor with dual batterys for just under that price. Which would be a better pick between them?
Hey partner, I have the same preorder! I felt that they had the edge over wired and a few others in the same range. I came to find they're more original in their design and manufacture, the usability of the interface is very straightforward, and they had the most specked out parts up to dual 750s. I didn't want to have my motor say more than 750 just in case, so 2x 750s was my "max" and figured the hill climb benefit was there when it was on (100x2 vs 150), and I'd gain economy with the front wheel off - versus a single 1500. I like a few of their bikes, wish I lived close enough to try them all out.
Do you like the EMX Xtreme or this bike better? I'm looking at the EMX Xtreme 60V on their website and I really like the way it looks. I'm really looking for a small to medium sized ebike that still feels natural when pedaling sitting and standing. Also having the dual motor and speed is a nice addition. But I found that I really like the way torque sensors feel and I'm just wondering if you feel one is better than the other. The only thing that stood out to me is the Xtreme doesn't have rear suspension. Do you feel like you notice a difference in that area after riding the Ultimate?
When will It be sent out in Canada?? I was actually looking at the eahora remeo pro 2 . But this is looking more manageable for my needs. I have a disability that doesn't allow me to pedal especially up hill. Plus I pull a dog trailer for my service dog. I want to go camping with my e bike. I won't need a trailer for camping. But it needs to go up hills with little to no input from me. Is there a walk mode ?? It helps when I do have to walk it up hill.
Couple of things. The fender bracing attached to the fork are going to be damaged first. It appears they skimped on the controller. 25-amp controller should be 40amp to 45-amp. Lastly, they should have fed the motor wire through the tube. It would be cleaner and safer for the wire. I do like all the lighting, the rack, and the fork. It's a nice-looking smaller bike that is full suspension. It's great for shorter riders. I think the dual battery trend is going to take off. By giving dual batteries, it gives some relief reference range anxiety. Of course, if you stomp on it and all the time, like my 5.0 Mustang, it's not going to get great range, but it's fun! I think on every dual motor bike you test; you need to do a launch to see if it breaks traction. It's a fun factor that sells bikes! Great review as always!
You are 100% correct. My Shadow Step arrived with the fender brace cracked-off and lying in the bottom of the box. Attempts to contact Fabulous have been mostly unsuccessful.
Wired changed their 2024 (2024.2?). If you had to choose this Furious EMX Ultimate OR the new Wired, which one? Can only choose one now? As a 2024.0 Wired Freedom owner I'm very curious, as I tend to think that "high powered" e-bike should come standard with mag wheels as the torque on the spokes tend to loosen them quicker. Your thoughts plz
Does the bike have a battery blender to draw power from both batteries at the same time if you purchase the second battery? Does the display have a watt meter for both motors? Will there there be a black Friday sale on this bike?
yes, battery balancers allow the bike to draw equally from both batteries simultaneously. Yes, i believe it had watt meter for both front and back. not sure about any sales.
I’m 5’1”. I need a e-bike that is very rugged and strong. Step thru with fat tires. With power for the steep hills in my area. I don’t have paved roads. What have you seen that will fit ? Your content is thorough and concise.
The Reaper Ultimate Edition has the same motors, power and features on a step through frame and dual suspension, maybe it will fit you well. Many new ebikes will be available on both websites in the coming days.
Another great review Brian. I placed my pre-order on this bike after you came out with your unboxing review. It really does offer all of the top end features I was looking for and the fact that they are adding the 2nd battery option is a big plus. I am 5' 11" and currently ride a 20 x 4 fat tire folding bike. I find the smaller size more nimble and easier to ride than the 26 X 4 tires. I do question why they have the motor cable so exposed. I would seem to increase the possibility of something catching on it and doing some damage. The price point is competitive given all of the features & no shipping fee or sales tax. Their service so far seems to be good as my call was answered on the first try. I ended up speaking to the owner, Lampro who was very helpful and answered all my questions. He has also answered my emails as well. Now I just need to be patient for the August. Do you feel that the stock tires will work ok on off road biking compared to the knobbier tires?
@@rickbarber8399 I bought one of the few models they had left before the preorder. I wanted a bike that was peppy and fast but smaller than my Wired Freedom. This one is just that. It feels like a pocket Wired. I rode my Wired just after it and they feel kind of similar in speeds but this one dusts it on the start. The wheelspin from the torque is nuts, maybe that could get annoying but I am enjoying it and it only happens if you want it to happen. I can control it...I also did it in turn and it wasn't an issue. My one complaint was the packaging was a little light on the sides so it had a scratch right on the downtube, but I am hoping to get some touchup paint.
@@justinwhite2951 thank you for the quick response. I was considering the wired or e-cells bike but did not want the 26" tires. Do you find it more maneuverable compared to the wired freedom? 100 lbs seems like a lot for this smaller bike.
Can you tell me what the difference is between this and the EMX-One X ? it looks identical to this bike but with one 1000w motor in the rear. I cannot find ANY information anywhere on the internet.....Do you know anything about this one?
The speed is not controlled by the motor right? If you are in pedal assist 1 you can go more than 10 miles an hour if you pedal hard and are in a higher gear right? It's power control higher assist level more watts to the motor right?
Nice. Could customize for that Easy Rider look, just paint on some flames and add more chrome, definitely chrome handlebars. Hard choice between this and the wired lime green cruiser. More expensive and more motor to deal with. I think I’d get the wired cruiser as my first pick.
It's really nice, but seems strange. It's not at least one thousand watt motors with a big sixty volt battery so it can go at least forty five or fifty.and maybe be able to turn down front motor
Has a cool look to it for sure. Love the unique frame, suspension, color and 80s style wheels. I would've preferred a 20 x 3 inch wheel though. The 4 inch just looks a bit too much for this otherwise sleek looking bike.
This is exactly what I was looking for. Smaller is great because it’s easier to store. I got to say motor wire kind of loses the clean look of the bike. Not sure why they did that but other than that it’s at the top of my list to consider. Great review man!
anyone know of a comparison with ariel rider. i know the ariel rider is 52 vs 60 here. and no front motor. ... but with less much less weight. might be somewhat comparible for certain wants/needs. ?
My next ebike is either this or the motor goat..the motor goat is about the same price but it's faster with a longer seat for a passenger..but this bike is still on list tho..
strange that the fenders leave the sides edges of the tire exposed. not a fan of red and there is no all matte black option. too many logos for my liking. the website says there’s a pearl white version but it’s the picture of the red one. blue has many sticker logos. site doesn’t say how much it weighs. edit: you said in the video it weighs 100lbs but i guess that is before you add the second battery. too heavy as-is considering there is a folding ebike with dual motors around the same weight called the hanevear. this one does not fold yet is the same weight. weight matters because of weight limits in car e-bike racks. yes you can remove the battery, but not good to match weight carrying capacity rather than being under the cpacity in a moving vehicle. it’s supposed to be a “small” bike but weighs heavier than say a wired freedom bike. why is that? if i was to go small, it should be lighter so i have more reasons to ride that in place of a wired freedom or an e-cells triple crown five star.
How torquey is it when one motor is engaged? I've got a basic Chinese dual ebike too, but only 48v 22a. When i ride with one motor, it doesn't feel you have a 1kw motor in your disposal
I dont see any replacement parts listed in USA or Canada. Thats an issue Im finding with many companies while shopping for an ebike. If anyone knows of a 60v awd ebike with availabe parts, please comment. Thanks.

@@cs-xd9gy I do not have the rear one yet because they come in August with the other EMX bikes, but I am getting one. This bike is sneaky good. It's like a small Wired Freedom with more torque. I like being able to just cruise in rear 750 watt motor and then kick in front motor for hills and speed.
I have them both. I like them both. I think this bike is awesome. This feels like a pocket wired. And when the motors peak its outputting very similar wattage. Suspension on this may be better than Wired. But at the tip-top speed (which are the same), I think the Wired feels a little more secure. But this was is more fun to ride at 30 MPH. Battery prices have dropped but labour has shot up, think about that. for $1,999 you get no torque sensors, cheap suspension, low quality brakes, no trigger shifters an entry level derailleur and over powered controllers that will blow. Heavy but not unmaneuverable,
Just ordered mine today. Maybe this fall when I visit my daughter in Clayton, we can take a dual EMX ride.
Excellent review. Especially appreciated your pointing out the tech details.
Convinced me to add this bike to the stable.
pre ordered and emx about a month ago. I have received an update from fabulous that the bikes are about to ship, and the motor wire has is fact been updated and is now ran through the frame with the rest of the wires.
Being that I'm from the 80s 90s bmx era I really like this 👍🏻
I was hoping Citizen would answer my question about Wired vs this.
With 4 e-bikes and an e-scooter in the garage, I'm thinking a couple need to go, so my car still fits in...lol
I think this 70 yr old will love this if it performs like Citizen shows.
This is better than a grizzly at least it pedalable😂
It was between this or the new Freedom. My first ebike will be the EMX Ultimate.
Good choice, wish I had gotten that one. I got the wired cruiser, had to change the seat and its a punishing hard tail.
Hi, I’m considering the furious emx but I wanted to know which I can’t find on their site how is there customer service and return policy also if I need any parts. Thank you
@19:06 I'm guessing all bikes come as RWD, and they are just adding on the awd as a 2nd step so wiring is not as incorporated?
For the hill test, try rear drive to start then once get to 10/15 mph change it to AWD to help limit the tire spin
Any chance of running the wire through the top tube ?
@fabulousebikes1110 are the handlebars able to be replaced for shorter bmx handlebars?
I would put wire wraps around the wires by the handle bar and a better thicker sheathing for the power wire
It’s back in stock!
Other than that, I love it 🔥🔥
haha great catch on the Rotors!
That's like the crossover SUV of ebikes. Is the rear motor cable a quick disconnect or is straight from wheel to controller? If so they may have left it outside for flat tire fixes when you need slack in the cable to get the wheel off.
Great job on the ebike. If I didn't have one on order I would buy it!
LOL Thanks.
Wow, I was about to buy this bike until I saw your vid on the wired bike upgrades.
I'm near RDU, thanks for the $50 discount!
I'm in Cary - would love to see yours in person - considering upgrading my Engwe x26.
@@stoffel6348 is there a way to trade info privately here?
great review.
its 69" long as per specs on website click on "Full Details" scroll to near the bottom
Also, I'm picking up mine next week since I live only 30 mins away from the store.
What sold you on the wired cruiser? What is the price
@@Wapap The new updated step thru design and integrated 2 batteries installed w/battery blender at 60V 20ah/ 15ah with no increase in price. The out the door price with sales tax, insurance and shipping to CA was slightly over $2,400. Hope that helps!
@@paulketchum6819I was gonna go with the wire cruiser until I saw it has no torque sensor. I think I’m going with this furious now.
I like a few of their bikes, wish I lived close enough to try them all out.
ill take burn outs over 3 mph give or take.Cheers
Do you like the EMX Xtreme or this bike better? I'm looking at the EMX Xtreme 60V on their website and I really like the way it looks. I'm really looking for a small to medium sized ebike that still feels natural when pedaling sitting and standing. Also having the dual motor and speed is a nice addition. But I found that I really like the way torque sensors feel and I'm just wondering if you feel one is better than the other.
The only thing that stood out to me is the Xtreme doesn't have rear suspension. Do you feel like you notice a difference in that area after riding the Ultimate?
Is it easy to pedal without the battery assist
A chainring WITHOUT a 2-sided chainguard? I thought that was pretty much standard on ebikes nowadays.
The front is wasted power. Use a larger rear & lose the front motor. Great test. Thank you.
Going to need to get a bike in this lineup that goes 40 plus soon.
I might have missed it but I don’t think you showed us the charger. How it connects and what capacity?
I like this one, Just curious about the real world range
I believe that it had two 25 amp controllers for a total of 50. One for each motor.
You are 100% correct. My Shadow Step arrived with the fender brace cracked-off and lying in the bottom of the box. Attempts to contact Fabulous have been mostly unsuccessful.
Have you upgraded the controller? If not would it benefit
Great review. It felt authentic.
Its Eco mode for 2 motors, lightning bolts is turbo, like to see 2-1000 watt motors & better controller
Would love to see a side by side comparison of this and the Grizzly.
Looks like we finally have a Grizzly killer 👏
They work really good off road as the tread goes well to the side. Thats why i switched them for best of both worlds.
Just rode this bike. Love it. You are going to like it
@@justinwhite2951 can you provide me with a bit more feedback on why you love it Did you buy this bike or test ride it?

The speed is not controlled by the motor right? If you are in pedal assist 1 you can go more than 10 miles an hour if you pedal hard and are in a higher gear right? It's power control higher assist level more watts to the motor right?
I wish they would add full suspension to their step through version of this bike . The Havac x2
Looks like they just took the Juiced rip racer frame and upgraded it
What bike do you recommend for the best hill climbing performance that has a front rack mount available?
How far can the battery take you with all wheel drive?. Or how long does it last with all wheel drive?.
Nice. Could customize for that Easy Rider look, just paint on some flames and add more chrome, definitely chrome handlebars. Hard choice between this and the wired lime green cruiser. More expensive and more motor to deal with. I think I’d get the wired cruiser as my first pick.
What is the best power and range of the two
It's really nice, but seems strange.
I have to believe that it comes with some sort of manual right? Parts, setup, etc.. Nothing online.. Not many other reviews on this bike.
This is exactly what I was looking for. Smaller is great because it’s easier to store. I got to say motor wire kind of loses the clean look of the bike. Not sure why they did that but other than that it’s at the top of my list to consider. Great review man!
Great looking bike do they have a step thru version ?

Direct drive is much more quiet. I agree, geared hubs too noisy

you said in the video it weighs 100lbs but i guess that is before you add the second battery.
too heavy as-is considering there is a folding ebike with dual motors around the same weight called the hanevear. this one does not fold yet is the same weight.
weight matters because of weight limits in car e-bike racks. yes you can remove the battery, but not good to match weight carrying capacity rather than being under the cpacity in a moving vehicle.
it’s supposed to be a “small” bike but weighs heavier than say a wired freedom bike. why is that? if i was to go small, it should be lighter so i have more reasons to ride that in place of a wired freedom or an e-cells triple crown five star.
That’s what I’m talking about. Ride till you drop.
How torquey is it when one motor is engaged? I've got a basic Chinese dual ebike too, but only 48v 22a. When i ride with one motor, it doesn't feel you have a 1kw motor in your disposal

Battery prices have dropped but labour has shot up, think about that. for $1,999 you get no torque sensors, cheap suspension, low quality brakes, no trigger shifters an entry level derailleur and over powered controllers that will blow. How tall you are and how much do you weigh
6ft 180lbs
I don't like the way the duel motor button is placed
1 less cable and a digital button gave us more options like the eco mode.
I have one...got the new one before the August waiting period. The motor button is great. I thought cycling through the motor button would be annoying too but it flips pretty fast and if you need to go from Dual to rear (the most common needed quick change) it is the next one on the cycle. To get back to dual moto from just rear it's another couple clicks but can do it on the fly. I like this bike alot.
