Ingrid's input raises an already powerful song to whole other level. I just *love* her voice and the harmonies in this collaboration are profoundly beautiful .
A lot of people don't realise nor care about their music past the first couple of albums. Which is a crime! Memorial Beach, East of the Sun West of the Moon, were great albums!
Yes! I also love Minor Earth Major Sky and the song Lifelines is gorgeous. Got to love ‘Velvet’; the video is brilliant. All of them lined up in a morgue! You’re right on both Memorial Beach & EOTSWOTM. Title tracks fab and full of hidden gems. I’m a fan...can you tell? 😳👍
Iagree totally. To me their album 'Eeast ot Sun West of the Moon was briiliant. Of course Mortens voiced just something else. It's vulnerable, but stong in high notes and he han sing also from low like in 'Crying in teh Rain' and some others too... but alli in all a beatiful male voice.
Ingrid Helene Håvik is also the lead singer of Highasakite, who have some awesome tunes. Definitely recommend listening to "Lover, where do you live", "Since last Wednesday", or "5 million miles"
Oh piano, finally after all those years many people started to really pay attention to what a phenomenal keyboard player Magne truly is. There is something unique about him! Always thought about it. They are all special (all three of them)... but Morten always been kinda more mainstream part of a-ha
Yes a lot of people think aha is only Morten Harket. He is always left out. I do think Morten is the most talented one though but he is also great, must be difficult to always be compared to someone. Ive heard him sing live and also live together with aha. :) oh and the third member is definitely left out a lot.
@@mar97216 Very talented as a singer, yes. But true greatness starts with the songs. a-ha songs are written by Paul and Magne. and not only that. Mortens talent is just very easy on the ear, easy to understand for a mainstream audience. Actually, he even straggled, wanted people to see him deeper than just voice (I don't even mention his looks - for me its irrelevant)
@@Minorellen you are right, they are all talented in different ways. I gotta admit I have a celeb crush on Morten, even to this day he is magnetic! But it’s irrelevant to the music part.
Poor Morten is often critisized for not being a typical frontman. He's not dancing around, gives no show and when not singing he gladly steps aside on podium. He wants his voice to speak for itself. But out of the 3 he also got the looks. He still has. 😊 But Pal and Magne are great composers and musicians and instrumental to the a-ha sound.
@@mar97216 have you heard his solo stuff, he is not irrelevant, his solo album wild seed is on of the greatest records i ve heard, but it only took of in norway, that is too bad😩 he wrote the songs on that album
Loe this reaction Mike + Ginger-Such a classic song and music video, Such a shame though that it was the last hit single A-ha had on the Billboard Hot 100 getting in the top 20-As the others were flops after that same with the albums after their debut Hunting High + Low in the US And this tune was also a top 10 and top 20 hit single in many other countries in: Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Switzerland, Austria, Japan, China, Brazil, Portugal, Spain, + Italy, Although it did get to number one in UK in early 86, It was still high in charts in Dec of 1985 And the music video was shot on location over three days early October 1985 at Udney Hall Gardens and the Victorian Gothic Church of Saint Alban the Martyr, both situated in Teddington, Richmond upon Thames, in England Have you ever been to the UK, I only went to that church a few months back hasn't been in a couple of years You should come to the UK and could show you where it is :-)
@@marjoriemcbride6557 You completey missed my point, they were talking about A-ha in the US and about how they had 2 hit singles + 1 hit album there. I obviously do know they were massive in soooo many other countries with many other hit singles + albums from 1985-1994 + then when they had their comeback in 2000 onwards! i'm from the UK in England, you ever been??
You should watch the live version of this from the 90’s from the live in South America tour, very much raw rock version and Morten at his powerful best
Morten has/had a phenomenal voice. Pls do Hunting High and Low, Living daylights, Stay on these roads, The blood that moves the body, Lifelines, so many to choose from
Mags(Magne) was always my favorite. Actually on this live concert, the "take on me" is one of the best live performances I've heard of it.. a bit different and laid back.. worth a listen. ;)
Hi, i have the vinyl record from them. You also should listen to "Take on me", that new accoustic version is having a whole new emotional perspective. Totally different but fantastic beautiful.
Loooovvveeee AHA when I was growing up i thought Morten was the coolest man alive... remember my mother having a very "wistful" look on her face whenever she saw the videos...
Glad you enjoy good voices🙂 Pls react to Il Volo singing El Triste at Latin Bilboard Awards when they were 18/19 yrs old, amazing.. Until Dimash came along, they were top of my vocal list😊 Their concert DVDs Il Volo takes Flight (16yrs old) and We are Love (18yrs old) are the best music DVDs I own... (I prefer them to Il Divo who is a much older group)
Dive Into their catalouge and you will find a New favourite song. Also you should react to Summer Moved On live. The song where Morten holds the record of longest note held. 20.2 seconds or something
You guys should do a reaction to Ingrid's (the female vocals) live version of the song: Lover where do you live. ua-cam.com/video/XuQPaSARXL4/v-deo.html
Hi Mike, Ginger, The Mad Dutchman here once more :). Never been into AHA, and it is good, but for me it misses something still :). I guess it depends a lot on the meories you may have - I have those with Alan Stivell, but that is a completely different story :). You should really give How's the Heart, Live version, unplugged, with Troy Donockley and Floor Jansen a try. Since you liked The Sun Always Shines on TV in a live, acoustic version a lot, I am sure you will like that too :). Another one I wanted to suggest for a while already, is another artist who always gives me chills and goosebumps (apart from Amira Willighagen, Nightwish and/or Floor, and a small number of other artists :)), is Ella Henderson. She released an EP a year ago, after not appearing anywhere for 3 years (she was in X-Factor UK, one of the finalists, but when she was voted out, she immediately got a recording contract regardless, she was 16 (!) at the time). Anyway, there is a live version of the song I am referring to too, recorded at Asylum Chapel, which you may want to check out, even if you do not react to it: ua-cam.com/video/62mtdKyOwWw/v-deo.html It's called "Glorious" and deals with all of us who have some kind of a body or mind misfunction or blemish, and it actually is a glorious song IMO. The official release video is available here: ua-cam.com/video/YoKewGsPOWk/v-deo.html I do prefer the Asylum Chapel version however. If you create a reaction, I will gladly provide a bit more background; alternatively, you could check out some of her X-Factor performances; just search for "Ella Henderson X-factor", that will do the trick :). Love you two, warmest regards, Wim P.S.: Sorry if I gavce you a bunch more research to do :). It is good music, however :). P.S.2: You should really watch the relese video as well, because it gives the right background and meaning for the song with great imagery which really pull out the feelings that go with this song.
If you want to hear one of A-ha's latest releases, the song Cast in Steel is great ua-cam.com/video/fjgMot2CDaU/v-deo.html ( Released in 2015 ). Please review :-)

That's a great song. Lovely harmonies. Thanks for the poppies. We always need to remember.
Fantastic band, their live performances are brilliant !
What I enjoyed most watching this whole unplugged gig with A-ha was seeing all the middle aged women reliving their teens.
I resemble that remark 😉 - G
I've never heard this version, but that was beautiful. Good one guys👍🏻👍🏻
Morton's incredible voice is to pop what Geoff Tate's (Queensryche) voice is to metal. Both singers could soar with an angelic high octave vibe.
For godness sake his voice is still the same , is eternal.
My favourite A-ha songs are 'Hunting high and low' and I used to tear up while listening to 'Stay on these roads'..
Did some digging. Hunting high and low MTV unplugged:
