- A quick update on what's been going on and also talking about some new gear. Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro, Panasonic GH6, Insta360 One X2 and Zoom F2 (I accidentally say Rode instead of Zoom in the video).
I greatly appreciate that you're sticking with this channel. As an aspiring filmmaker, the information you share on this channel and the insight you give into the film industry is extremely useful to me. So, thank you and best of luck with your future projects.

Shazam: Fury Of the Gods went from being one of my most anticipated 2023 films to 2022!!
It’s honestly incredible to see you work on gigantic studio movies like Shazam 1 & 2 and still not lose that love of no budget DIY filmmaking. Could not be more excited for Shazam 2, and honestly might be even more excited to see what you do with the new gear!

Warner Bros would be wise to follow Netflix's example in allowing you to show behind the scenes stuff in the movies you make for them. I certainly remember being excited to rewatch Shazam after seeing the video "The Problem Solving of Filmmaking".
Annabelle Creation was Warner Bros too. It has more to do with what franchise and the size of the film. I'm sure Marvel is just as careful with that stuff.

Whenever I check this channel for new content and there isn't any, I'm reminded of this line from Good Will Hunting:

This is such a godsend for anybody who loves movies and moviemaking. Thank you for continuing to put out these videos. Can’t wait for Shazam 2, adored the first one, such a blast.
Your love for your craft is just astounding! It's so inspiring to see you growing and growing in the industry, while making hit after hit, but still being able to watch your UA-cam videos. As an aspiring actress, watching your movies and UA-cam videos from the beginning, getting all these insights and watching your passion is just amazing for me. It makes me feel like my dream can be real too. Especially when you spoke openly about your depression in the past and how you felt when not creating films... it really hits close to home and gives me hope. I don't know if you've seen Unbreakable before, but when Glass talks to Kevin Dunn about how he knows he wakes up every morning sad and like something is missing from his life... because he's not living the life he's meant to. That's how I always feel/felt and how I kind of interpreted you to have felt (sorry if I'm wrong). So again, watching your videos give me hope. Thank you.

As an aspiring Actor who's wanted to act her whole childhood to young adult life with intense passion, I have watched many behind the scenes videos throughout this time to get to somehow experience (if even a touch) everything that goes into making a film.
But I come back to your videos more than I have ever come back to any behind the scenes videos because your way of directing is so relaxed, so unforced, and truly captivating. And not just that, your other videos are - without a doubt - real life gems as well because we rarely get to see the actual director, his or herself, create their own videos on UA-cam while talking us through their experiences! It is so original and exciting!!

You consistently stay _creative_ in your work, and approach to work, which is one of the most important aspects for any artist. And I immensely appreciate the tutorials on using open-source and cheap software and tools to achieve really incredible things, as well as ways to use indie- and consumer-accessible hardware to do really cool work.

I found your channel thanks to Corridor Crew but of course knew about you because of Shazam 1 for the first time. I wonder if you can talk sometime about the editorial process, your involvement or degree of involvement there, as well as your thoughts on the art of film editing. Love that people like yourself, Alex Knickerbocker are on youtube sharing your love for the craft.
What you are doing here is what I wish more directors would do. I got a lot of my early cinema education from behind the scenes videos on DVDs. Now that a lot of films are viewed on streaming services instead of DVDs and Blu-rays, I feel what you are doing is the new version of that. Keep it up when you can. We will always be here. Peace.
