Nice tool, I've got a Kodiak over 20 yrs old and going thru a steering shaft replacement. I got lucky and found one on ebay.

That inverted lock nut on my 350 Bruin's lower end requires a 30 mm hex bit to remove - a $70 item! Luckily enough a 2" trailer ball nut is just about the right size, and I know a good welder who owes me a favor.

Looking at buying a 2002 660 from facebook for $800 next weekend. So im looking at every video possible regarding the grizzly 660 haha. It will be my first ATV
Good units. I've put a lot of miles on the 660 i had. Little hard on wheel bearings, but super reliable engine, transmission, and drivetrain.
Check differentials! I bought one with a bad differential. Make sure there’s oil in the back of it and in the front diff
Check that coolant too mine was empty on that and the water pump ended up failing.

It really wasn't too terrible . to guess id say about 5 hours straight. Not including seized or rusted bolts .

Although the video is good and is very informative, he make the job look easy. Back handed compliment, however...I had the wobble and wanted to get it taken care of. I ran into huge problems. First couldn't find the right size bolt(s) to make the removal tool. Them when I did, I had a 30 inch breaker bar and a pipe on the end of that and still couldn't move the retaining nut. Lots of WD and finally an impact wrench and in about a half hour of that it finally came free.
After that, the bearing took about 2 hours to get out. Finally with an air chisel from underneath the bearing came free.
The short of it is, for me, this was a tough job. It took lots of time, patience, and the right tools. Happy now....no wobble.
Once again great video, got me going in the right direction.
Have you ever run into a situation where the retainer nut will not fit back in after installing the bottom seal and bearing? Bottom seal fits, bearing fits, top seal fits but no room for both the retainer nut and top seal to line up flush with top of housing.
Sounds like you put the top seal in before screwing in the retaining nut. The nut goes in, then the top seal.

My bearing doesn't seem to just sit in there after removing the nut on my 99 grizzly 600.
Are you trying to get it out? if that's the case, then it may be rusted in there.
If your having issues putting a new bearing in, double check the part number to make sure its the right one
Since I bought my bike (grizzly 700 2008 eps model), I'm facing the problem with handlebar, because the column has an front and back (radial) play. I changed there a bush with a new one (1UY-23812-00-00) and the still problem persists. What else could I check? Can be that bearing? Thanks

@@ruyguy8888 Did you mean part no 12? That bearing?
@@davidpantea6974 Yes. if i recall that bearing/bushing set bolts onto the frame before that splined stub shaft goes into the collar of the EPS motor. Unless the motor itself is loos, i would check play there first and work your way down.
@@ruyguy8888 Thank you for suggestions. I ordered that bearing (3B4-23875-10-00) and 2 x oil seal (93112-31011-00). I hope this is the fix
@@ruyguy8888 I also have a left-right play in the handlebars, but that play also seems to be from the steering column, looking at the ends of the rod tie (inside not the side from the wheels), they don't move. Can it be EPS? It looks like a pretty expensive piece. Can it break down and play inside?

Just need to unbolt the handle bars from shaft with all the stuff attached. None of that needs to be removed. He definitely made it harder.
