    Brilliant thanks. I am being terribly tormented. I am also tapering off prednisolone after a flu problem with my asthma. Also had a new bp med. So difficult to pinpoint what caused it but is driving me insane. I have Addison's disease so the stress is quite dangerous. Now wondering if I should have a higher dose of steroids but then would have to taper again :(

    I’ve almost recovered from my Eczema on my arms almost 1 year later.
    For the last 2 weeks I’ve made sure the affected area is never dry (Cetaphil Gental Skin Cleanser), I’ve applied throughout the day Melita Propolis Cream and Apicare Repair Me Cream. I lastly apply some prescribed Steroid cream before going to bed. It’s finally going away.
    Anyone reading this who has Eczema I really hope this helps because this is how I defeated it. The main thing is to make sure your affected area never become dry.

    Hello. Thank you for this info. Just want to ask some suggestion/s. 5 years ago, I got this allergic reaction from sunscreen products or any products with SPF. At first I did not know it was that substance but the allergy recur after using sunscreen again. The odd thing is that the reaction would only be triggered by an exposure to sunlight. I googled it and found out that my allergy is called Photoallergic Contact Dermatitis. I change brands one after the other but have not found the right one. Since the 1st occurrence, all products I tried with sunscreen or SPF would trigger the allergy. So I stopped using any products with that substance in it, especially that the allergy would specifically occur on my face. 😅
    Nevertheless, I could already see the effect on my face of not wearing sunscreen, considering the factor of aging and the country that I live in is quite hot and exposure to sunlight is unavoidable, since I have to go out for work. So what could I possibly do to prevent further damage on my skin due to sunlight since I cannot use sunscreen anymore?
    Sorry for the lengthy comment. And thank you for taking time to read. 😊

      I'd suggest a shirt and a hat, just me. I'm older than you be a fair amount and while we can have some brutal seasons (sun on snow w heavy winds really hurts, too) I don't look my age. I've neved used anything on my skin but regular soap and maybe Nivea. Which I bought b/c I liked the smell and the little "Miami" tin (flamingos, love flamingos).
      For me, I can easily do Vaseline, but NOT the lip one!! Makes my lips BRIGHT RED, especially if they're already aggravated.
      I had something like that in summer, too. In winter, I was getting it behind the knees bad. Summer was forearms and back. Scratching a lot to profuse bleeding. I was carrying band-aids in my purse! That's how often I was bleeding--a LOT.
      I wound up with a series of salves and told to switch detergents and soaps (I was using Tide, a bad offender, I'm told) and citirizine, which I think is Zyrtec...I only take 1 b/c it makes me tired. And I wanted to fix the PROBLEM, not just band-aid the issue. Also, we're big on Vaseline over here...
      It's pretty much clearing up but like Whack-a-mole game it starts here, clears up and goes over there, tho not usually as bad as it WAS.

      3 weeks ago I used a moisturizer which turned my cheeks red and irritated. I used cortisone for 7 days and while it helped a little bit reducing the redness it didn’t heal anything. My cheeks are still red red, although less, and irritated. I stopped using cortisone a week ago due to fear of side effects.
      I wonder if my cheeks will ever recover 😔

    I’m confused, all of a sudden after a trip which I was in a couple hot tubs and pools, not sure if it was from that, but my mustache started getting inflamed with redness and dryness and somewhat flaky, the Doc said it was Sebborhetic Dermatitis, Ketoconazole was prescribed, along with a literal 5 min visit with a terrible dermatologist who didn’t bother to even look at me and prescribed Desonide. This has been about a month with no results, my mustache hair follicles look inflamed and the only thing that helps my relatively short beard is beard oil or balm. I’m stuck at this point and I’m falling deeper into depression.

    I used to have amazing skin always took care of it but I moved out and all of a sudden my skin became extremely dry like scaley & flaky only in the areas I was wearing clothes as it was summer so I mainly wore shorts & crop tops (so it was appearing only in those areas) now that it’s winter I’ve been wearing onesies etc so recently I took a shower and my body became extremely itchy red burning & flared up I couldn’t shower it was painful & even after my bodies been itching. I was thinking maybe it’s my laundry detergent as it was only after I washed my clothes & wore them. I will rewash & change my detergent. But for now can anyone give advice ? Is this contact dermatitis? Please

    • @DimitriRiggas
      @DimitriRiggas 2 роки тому +1

      Best advice is to use non-bio washing liquid or capsules or powder (whatever is preferable), use perfume-free moisturises (I would recommend buying from a pharmacy!) and try having medium/cool showers… and for a short duration, I love my showers but unfortunately I’ve learnt that it’s not the best for my skin. Try wearing loose clothing… the onesie is just screaming that it’s a hot enclosed environment… not good

      Do not use regular bandaid. I have contact dermatitis after using bandaid due to the adhesive materials they use. Use a bandage for sensitive skin or use a non-stick pad and Nextcare sensitive tape. Try it out & see if it works. Resist touching or putting too much pressure on the area. The skin would need to breathe as well only if the wound has completely healed. Take care. See a dermatologist first. Bye.
