I watched this show when I was in 8th grade, now I'm in college... And now she's on HBO.. I loved her ever since!

I remember watching this in college and being UPSET when she stopped making these. Now me and my friends just finished breaking down her and molly’s relationship on insecure. I’m so happy she got the recognition she deserved!

1. Issa DOES NOT AGE. My girl has the same perfect skin and smile for over 10 years.
2. Issa’s personality and vibe are so on brand and shine through in both shows. If you’ve seen this and insecure, you feel the same energy.

Is that recent news? I really hope so. I know back in 2013, when I first came across the series, there was some noise about an HBO deal, but then I hadn't heard anything about it in all this time. She's so talented and funny, and I just love this series!
I think so I just recently saw a commercial for it on HBO they didn't say an expected date though :/

The glow up is real!! I remember watching this my senior year in high school. I was captivated. Now Ms Issa Rae is on HBO and newly married!! I’m so happy to see a black woman doing so well!!
Just saw the trailer for her new HBO show and had to come back and reminisce. In high school, there was no show on television I could relate to. Then a friend told me about this show and I was hooked instantly. I'm overjoyed Issa made the bold choice to share with the world her incredible talents. And, in doing that, she gave so many of us a show we could actually relate to and helped us realize we weren't the only awkward black girl out there. So proud of Issa. I can't wait for Insecure to air!
i remember watching this in like 2011/12 and not knowing how big this got??? apparently???? and now fast forward 5-6 years and while trying for the life of me to remember what this was called i see her face in an ad for her show and i couldn't be happier, not even gonna lie. this was amazing then and still holds up today, and i'm so happy that "insecure" is a thing and you can bet your ass im gonna watch it.

I swear, when I found out who Issa was, I was so happy and upset at the same time. Upset because I hadn't known of her and this series sooner but happy that I found someone JUST LIKE ME. From the twa cut cause ppl made fun of my natural hair all during school to rapping to myself in the mirror, to writing the raps in a tablet, to all of the awkward situations I've been in.
