⚠️⚠️⚠️ UPDATES!!! Our regulator from propanegear.com went bad after about 6 months. After a few emails and no response, we decided to try some parts of Amazon. Not only did the parts work well, the adjustable regulator lets us really crank up the flow. WAY more than we need to, but it's nice to have the flexibility. It might also come in handy if we ever get a gas firepit. New links are below! We likely could have gotten Propane Gear to replace the regulator if we'd sent more follow-up emails. But, I wanted to try less expensive parts from Amazon anyway. Propane Gear is still a great way to go if you have no idea what connections you need, so we're leaving that part of the original article. ✅ Gauge Master Premium Propane Splitter: amzn.to/31B5jvp ✅ GASPRO 4FT 20 PSI Adjustable High Pressure Propane Regulator with Hose: amzn.to/37dcDyx This regulator and hose will allow me to connect a quick-disconnect fitting to a bracket on the RV frame later on for an even quicker setup. NOTE: You are responsible for regulating the PSI down. At its full 20PSI, it's like a bonfire under our griddle and likely dangerous to leave that way. USE WITH CAUTION! ✅ Anderson Metals Brass Tube Fitting, Half-Union, 3/8″ Flare x 1/4″ Male Pipe: amzn.to/2H6zGjP This is to connect the quick-disconnect to the hose from the regulator. ✅ GASPRO 1/4 Inch RV Propane Quick Connect Fitting: amzn.to/2H2VJbd This connects to the regulator hose using the fitting above. ✅ MENSI 12FT Male/Female Quick-Connect RV Propane Hose for Blackstone Griddles: amzn.to/379rLg9 To connect to the Blackstone.
So you get credit for purchase, can you update gaspro flexible HP hose link, get a whoops not found presently. Also waffling between camp chef 2 burner 60,000 and this black stone, have you run into any folks using the camp chef?
YES! life changer! our RV has an outdoor kitchen with the quick connect underneath. i just had to buy the blackstone quick adapter and now i cook out at the RV even when we are home! having the sink with hot water right next to me is priceless too!
That's awesome. Thanks guys. Been a while since I've been able to respond. Was in a serious vehicle accident April 30th. Not able to type. But I'm alive.. Have been watching you though, keeps me calm.
My hubs and I were just talking about this and I said, “ Let’s see if Changing Lanes” has something and Bam! My news feed popped up with this video 😂😂 Great timing and great video!! ❤️❤️
Good Morning from Texas. We were gifted a 17 inch Blackstone and your video allowed us to make our first experience totally worth it. I went to Propane Gear and got the adapters and was able to connect directly to our rigs quick disconnect. We made fajitas, and they were awesome. Just subscribed and we hope to run into you someday along the road.
Our last Motorhome came with a quick disconnect already installed, and made it very easy. Our new Motorhome is 100% Diesel, so, back to the little bottles (pain). Keep the tips vids coming :-).
Hey, again, I thoroughly enjoy each new video. I'm a grill nut and would use your set-up for sure when I do get my RV. Happy travels and best of health to both of you.
Holy Crap Batman... you just saved me a bunch of money and research. I’ve been trying to figure out how to do this for my Blackstone. I’m also going to use this set-up at home because I can’t stand those little green bottles... thanks again Chad and Tara...Pete
Bought our Grand Design 351M in January and are going crazy being stuck at home. We were able to go for a three day trip to a local state park before the pandemic. I noticed under the kitchen slide there is a gas quick disconnect for the stove and fridge. Bought a Y adaptor on Amazon and a 24 foot hose to add on the 10 foot I already had. No need for a regulator since it uses the Rig regulator. Works great but I like your idea as well. Love your videos!
New Grand Design Solitude 375RES-R purchased Jan 2020. We decided to use our Camp Chef grill with griddle plates in a similar way as is being used in this video with the Blackstone grill. We need pretty much the same set-up to make grill life easier. Thanks for all the great tips and links to the parts. Ordering now using your links. I find your videos super helpful, even though we've owned a different, smaller and lighter 5th wheel 7-years prior and are experienced. Y'alls tips, tricks, and helps ROCK!
Chad and Tara, I have watched almost all of your videos and enjoy them all. Just letting you know I did just purchase an 8’ house with a 3/8 flare to go from my Rv to my black stone. Thanks again for the good info.
To my neighbor Blackstone is an awesome grill and I will not cook anything else but thanks so much for recommending it you are the chef Ramsey of RV World
We bought the kit for our Blackstone and also our Weber Q from PropaneGear.com. They make some really great products! We run ours off the quick disconnect on our Grand Design Imagine.
Typically fuel lines are left hand threads and this is a safety feature so you can’t hook them up to oxygen or when torching. Great vid, this will help us when setting up our grill. Thanks you!
My rv came with a quick disconnect and I bought the blackstone 3 months ago . I have been wanting to get this and now thanks to you I know where to go and what I need thanks to chad / changing lanes Another great video
I was looking for your video on the security system you used on the RV and found this. I have been looking for some propane gear. Thanks, guys for all of your videos and info. Tara, you health is the most important, videos can come when you feel better!! Blessings.
Charcoal , BY FAR, gives BETTER flavor when grilling... But let's "face it"... we all have gotten a bit lazier with the EASE of turning ON the gas/propane valve !!! :) :) I too am GUILTY of it :(
Great video. I've been looking for a way to hook my grill up to my onboard propane tanks and you just showed me how. Thanks and keep the great video's coming.
Got the Blackstone and set up after watching your original video and loved it but had the same hookup frustration. Perfect timing with this vid saving me the trouble of figuring out myself. Will follow your lead Chad, thanks!
We bought a Blackstone based on your "Blackstone/Coleman Showdown" video and absolutely love that thing! I have yet to try the onion volcano, though...
I'm surprised that you're camper did not come with a connection for propane like ours did on the bottom near the rear. Love the endings with the outtakes, and great video.
I replumbed some of the steel pipe for my quick connects under my trailer for a more sturdy mount. The valves shouldn't move or leak but with Murphy's Law, I feel better about any potential leak being on the exterior of my trailer. I may even add a more durable gas valve than the light weight ones that are normally used on these set ups. I am contemplating an interior quick connect for Mr. Heater vs a solid installation without any hoses.
BAM!! NAILED IT!👌 I have been trying to figure that set up out for a long time for my Blackstone. Thanks so much. I am excited about the simplicity also.
I've been debating whether to do this or not with our Blackstone and watching this just enticed me a little more, especially having the direct links below to know I'm getting the correct parts. :) Thanks for sharing this video guys! Hope we see you guys out there soon!
Nice video! My G.D. Reflection has a quik connector just under the basement door. Already installed from the manufacturer. I'm surprised that yours doesn't. Thanks!
Love the Blackstone but we had a quick connect for our outside kitchen. I bought a 20' hose and the quick connect from them that replaces the regulator on the blackstone. Love your vids and this is the 1st time I was happy about my 5er. Most of the time I kick myself for not getting the toyhauler..LOL.
Cool option! I figured all campers had the quick connect under camper at a certain spot... Luckily the Fuzion has one under my outdoor tv compartment! I also got my gas line for the Blackstone from Propane Gear and am happy with it. Liking the quick tip videos guys!
Thank you for sharing. Your RV may have one quick connect output already. That's been regulated and you can just use quick connect hose hook to your blackstone.
Nice RUBBER hose. Likely even more convenient in cold temperatures ! Synthetic hoses tend to be temporary and very unnatural to bend and of course cheap.
You think that really nice expensive looking trailer would have a quick connection built into the propane hard line my cheap little Nash has one right on the front that’s crazy they make you go through the hassle to do that but glad you did it because it’s so nice to plug n play !
Love watching your videos. Thanks door all the great tips. Signed up for the fuel card by the way and gave credit to Changing Lanes. Can’t wait to start saving money on fuel.
On our 381m there is a quick connect propane for the stove/fridge on the slideout. Maybe I’ll look into placing a disconnect wye on that fitting and then it can run off both propane tanks. I like the idea and appreciate the look at getting the blackstone hose
Ordered the hose and attachment to connect to Treadstone before your vid was even over! I already have two quick connects spots outside, one at the outdoor kitchen to hook the kitchen cooktop to, and one at the back of the trailer...I guess in case I want to grill way back there because I smell bad or something...so all I needed was the hose and Treadstone attachment. I quit using the Treadstone because with the little green bottle it never got hot enough to work right. I can't wait to try it on a 30lb bottle! Hope the potatoes turned out OK, lol
Awesome! Our Fuzion came with a hard line under the RV and a quick connect on the curb side from the factory. Ours has 2 tanks up front side by side and one of those automatic switches. I do think adding that gas-off device is a good idea! Got to check mine and see if I can use 1 or need 2
Stiff hose is for HIGH pressure gas (pre-regulator). You can use rubber hose but should add fuel filter as the rubber hose gives off oils under pressure which willl eventurally ruin your grill or heater. Also note that a quick connect on the RV is AFTER the regulator at the tank so you should not have a second regulator at the grill connection.
Great video. Very informative. I was a little disappointed that during a 10 minute video about propane there wasn't one reference to "King of the Hill"'. lol.
Nice conversion, we really enjoy our quick disconnect. I wish we had a longer hose, but they're too expensive. However I checked there prices, and the 11 foot extension is much less than seen elsewhere. Thank you much. :)
Thank you so much! I’ve been going crazy trying to solve the exact same problem with my Blackstone 22” and a quick connect. This is exactly what I need.
I’m surprised that grand design didn’t have a dedicated propane line for outdoor grilling mounted to the frame. My little Winnebago Minnie has such a connection and I love it. Hope you had a great steak nite.
Yeah!! As long as you are on the low pressure side, then you can use more flexible hoses and not the more rigid. If you were to use the more flexible hose as high pressure line, not only are you prone to hose failure but also the high pressure tends to impregnate the inner wall of the hose and make bits and pieces come off causing regulator failure and even get caught in the orifice in your propane appliance. By the way, you might want to keep the regulator on that rigid hose you just tossed over your shoulder. You never know when it might come in handy.
I have heard that the flexible propane hoses can break down inside and leach an oily substance into regulators and orifices causing problems. The stiff ones are stiff because they are made of something that can hold up to propane. This came from an RV tech. Just passing this along FYI.
Sorry to say that I got two of those gas stop gadgets and have been plagued with false readings since the get go. Outside the 30 day return policy (ordered new RV and that was delayed) so stuck with these two paper weights. Will go with the cut off system that Grand Design installed in our 5th wheel.
Hmmm...I just purchased the 12' quick release hose w/adapter from propanegear.com. I also purchased the adapter so I can use the hose to my newly purchased propane gas fire pit. just now saw your update on the propane gear regulator...I sure hope I don't experience the same problem you did. The folks at propanegear.com were very helpful in getting me setup with everything needed to use the hose on two appliances. Now I don;t need to carry an extra propane tank.
I just spoke with Nick at Propanegear.com. My 12' hose will be using one of the three regulators in my TT that are already setup for quick connect/releaset to appliances such as the Blackstone Griddle and the fire pit. All will be connected with one hose and two adapters only. I feel confident this setup should be fine since I am not using an after market regulator for either appliance. Regardless, thanks for helping me find a great solution to avoid having to either remove a propane tank from the travel trailer for the griddle and fire pit, or carry an extra bulky propane tank with me.
Thanks showing this tip a great video I already contacted propane gear and they have a solution for our potable propane fire ring to connect to the low pressure connection on the side of our RV
Nice. For those who own rigs that have an external stovetop (e.g. GD Imagine 2670MK), much of the hardware mentioned is already built-in. In addition to a grill, an LP-compatible genny might be an option (although probably not both at the same time). We'll be checking into that in the Spring of 2020. Happy trails!
Love your videos! Your “how to” videos are awesome - especially for me!!! Question: Is the hose on amazon the same “flexible” hose you show in the video? Thanks for answering.
OMG! I hate that original hose. I can see myself sitting down with that hose and a pair of industrial cutters and CHOPPING IT UP in 6-inch segments just to get even with the inanimate object. ROFL!!! (I bet Chad did something similar. LOL) Good setup; I'm getting ready to pop over and watch the video on the blackstone vs the coleman next. Safe travels, you two.
We likely could have gotten Propane Gear to replace the regulator if we'd sent more follow-up emails. But, I wanted to try less expensive parts from Amazon anyway.
Propane Gear is still a great way to go if you have no idea what connections you need, so we're leaving that part of the original article.
✅ Gauge Master Premium Propane Splitter: amzn.to/31B5jvp
✅ GASPRO 4FT 20 PSI Adjustable High Pressure Propane Regulator with Hose: amzn.to/37dcDyx
This regulator and hose will allow me to connect a quick-disconnect fitting to a bracket on the RV frame later on for an even quicker setup.
NOTE: You are responsible for regulating the PSI down. At its full 20PSI, it's like a bonfire under our griddle and likely dangerous to leave that way. USE WITH CAUTION!
✅ Anderson Metals Brass Tube Fitting, Half-Union, 3/8″ Flare x 1/4″ Male Pipe: amzn.to/2H6zGjP
This is to connect the quick-disconnect to the hose from the regulator.
✅ GASPRO 1/4 Inch RV Propane Quick Connect Fitting: amzn.to/2H2VJbd
This connects to the regulator hose using the fitting above.
✅ MENSI 12FT Male/Female Quick-Connect RV Propane Hose for Blackstone Griddles: amzn.to/379rLg9
To connect to the Blackstone.
Chad thanks for the update.
Thank you for the update! I've been racking my heading trying to figure out the parts I need for this. Thank you.
So you get credit for purchase, can you update gaspro flexible HP hose link, get a whoops not found presently. Also waffling between camp chef 2 burner 60,000 and this black stone, have you run into any folks using the camp chef?

Your health is most important, Tara. The videos can wait. Always enjoy the quick tip videos. Great video as always!
Totally agree.
That’s a cool idea. I like that you have one of your propane tanks on the right side of your camper. Both of mine are together on the left side.
Your bloopers are the BEST on UA-cam!!! Another great video guys, thank you.....
That's awesome. Thanks guys. Been a while since I've been able to respond. Was in a serious vehicle accident April 30th. Not able to type. But I'm alive.. Have been watching you though, keeps me calm.
Oh no! Hope you have a speedy recovery!!! 🏥👍🏼
My hubs and I were just talking about this and I said, “ Let’s see if Changing Lanes” has something and Bam! My news feed popped up with this video 😂😂 Great timing and great video!! ❤️❤️
Perfect timing Haha 👍
Good mod, baked potatoes in the oven and steaks on the grill. Keep the good stuff coming guys.

Hey, again, I thoroughly enjoy each new video. I'm a grill nut and would use your set-up for sure when I do get my RV. Happy travels and best of health to both of you.
We are getting into grilling quite a bit as well! We have a Tembo Tusk Skottle, and are picking up a Green Mountain Smoker!
Holy Crap Batman... you just saved me a bunch of money and research. I’ve been trying to figure out how to do this for my Blackstone. I’m also going to use this set-up at home because I can’t stand those little green bottles... thanks again Chad and Tara...Pete

Chad and Tara, I have watched almost all of your videos and enjoy them all. Just letting you know I did just purchase an 8’ house with a 3/8 flare to go from my Rv to my black stone. Thanks again for the good info.
Thanks for watching! 😊 Welcome to our channel!
To my neighbor Blackstone is an awesome grill and I will not cook anything else but thanks so much for recommending it you are the chef Ramsey of RV World
Very well done... I am getting ready to do a similar Y for a side burner... thanks for not waving your arms around like 95% of UA-camrs...
I cant believe i just seen this! I thought i had watched everyone of your vids! Thank you and im ordering mine this week!
My wife and I love your channel and those were some great ideas. I was half expecting to see Hank Hill make a short cameo.
Thanks you!
Thanks for the update! Most folks don't follow up when something goes south.
My rv came with a quick disconnect and I bought the blackstone 3 months ago . I have been wanting to get this and now thanks to you I know where to go and what I need thanks to chad / changing lanes
Another great video
Interesting gear workaround if your rig doesn't already have a Q.D. on the frame.
Oh, a tip...Don't say "BOOM" when you're working with propane! 😁👍
I was looking for your video on the security system you used on the RV and found this. I have been looking for some propane gear. Thanks, guys for all of your videos and info. Tara, you health is the most important, videos can come when you feel better!! Blessings.
This looks like a great modification. Thanks for sharing your video to make this improvement. Have a great day.
Nice tip for all the gas grill folks out there. I'm a charcoal griller so we carry all the other stuff.
Same here! Always great info!
Hi Chad. I know this is an older video but wanted to let you know it was very helpful and informative!!
Got the Blackstone and set up after watching your original video and loved it but had the same hookup frustration. Perfect timing with this vid saving me the trouble of figuring out myself. Will follow your lead Chad, thanks!
We too went to propane gear to get the 12ft with disconnect for our Blackstone. Good stuff!
Simplicity is always the best!!
Less hassle and headache.
You guys are just a wealth of information, great video!
Definitely we always get great info from them!
We bought a Blackstone based on your "Blackstone/Coleman Showdown" video and absolutely love that thing! I have yet to try the onion volcano, though...
It's not as easy as they make it look! LOL
I'm surprised that you're camper did not come with a connection for propane like ours did on the bottom near the rear. Love the endings with the outtakes, and great video.
Our 2015 had connections, or newer 2017 dosen't so strange.
Cool setup. Another good video. Thanks Chad and Tara.
Great tip, works well for my Blackstone and Weber. The quick release and fittings for both were easy to install and both works well. Thanks again!
I replumbed some of the steel pipe for my quick connects under my trailer for a more sturdy mount. The valves shouldn't move or leak but with Murphy's Law, I feel better about any potential leak being on the exterior of my trailer. BAM!! NAILED IT!👌 I have been trying to figure that set up out for a long time for my Blackstone. Thanks so much. I am excited about the simplicity also.
Yeah, great video and tips we will probably be doing the same!
I've been debating whether to do this or not with our Blackstone and watching this just enticed me a little more, especially having the direct links below to know I'm getting the correct parts. :) Thanks for sharing this video guys! Hope we see you guys out there soon!
Off subject ...Tara your hair looks great ...glad you are feeling better 🎊
Perfect timing for this video! I've been trying to figure out a better way to use my Blackstone as well.
Nice video! My G.D. Reflection has a quik connector just under the basement door. Already installed from the manufacturer. I'm surprised that yours doesn't.
Thanks!
I also used propane gear to hook up my Blackstone. Love it rather than the little green bottles.
Actually just bought a similar setup for our BS while camping. Just got tired of buying those overpriced little green bottles. Great simple video!
Thanks for the info and the updates. We have been wrestling with this for our Blackstone and our fire bowl!
Your wife is so Vanna! Love you guys!
our Flagstaff by forest river has the flexible hose and connection on the frame for the grill-it is great. love the vids. have fun
Love you two thanks again for all you help!
Love the idea of the quick tips! Thanks for the instructions on quick disconnect on propane :) !
Bloopers are GREAT!!!! Keep it up!!! O yea, good information!!
You guys are the best bar none!!!! Thank You
And PLEASE keep THE VIDEOS COMING..!!
Thanks, Eileen! 😊
On our 381m there is a quick connect propane for the stove/fridge on the slideout. Maybe I’ll look into placing a disconnect wye on that fitting and then it can run off both propane tanks. I like the idea and appreciate the look at getting the blackstone hose
AWESOME! Thanks for sharing your setup. I've got work to do!
Good luck! Hope it all works for you! 👍🏼
I sure like his technical videos, very informative from a analytical mind. I saved you a Beer too. 9:50
I was a little disappointed that during a 10 minute video about propane there wasn't one reference to "King of the Hill"'. lol.
Wow! Simple and Quick! Great tip! Thank you ! Thank you !
Brendan & Lena
Nice conversion, we really enjoy our quick disconnect. I wish we had a longer hose, but they're too expensive. However I checked there prices, and the 11 foot extension is much less than seen elsewhere. Thank you much. :)
Thank you so much! I’ve been going crazy trying to solve the exact same problem with my Blackstone 22” and a quick connect. This is exactly what I need.
Be sure to see the updates in the description and comments area... Better and cheaper parts on Amazon. 👍🏼
I’m surprised that grand design didn’t have a dedicated propane line for outdoor grilling mounted to the frame. My little Winnebago Minnie has such a connection and I love it. Hope you had a great steak nite.
Most of the non toy hauler's have them.. Not sure why the momentums don't...
Thank you another great video i love the quick disconnect .i have one on my city water connection i did not know they had them for propane
Thanks a million. You just solved my Blackstone quick connect issue 🤔 Love it 💥
We did keep it.. it's the one that came with the griddle... 👍🏼 😊
I have heard that the flexible propane hoses can break down inside and leach an oily substance into regulators and orifices causing problems. The stiff ones are stiff because they are made of something that can hold up to propane. This came from an RV tech. Just passing this along FYI.
good set-up and safe 👍👍
Nice video. Hope everything is good. 🤗
Sorry to say that I got two of those gas stop gadgets and have been plagued with false readings since the get go. Outside the 30 day return policy (ordered new RV and that was delayed) so stuck with these two paper weights. Will go with the cut off system that Grand Design installed in our 5th wheel.
Thsnks for the tip. Love you guys. Tara you look so pretty. Your hair is beautiful
Glad you got it all sorted.. 👍🏼
Very nice video. In the same situation right now.
Great video guys! I literally have been having the exact same issue and now I have a solution you guys are the best!👍
I am seriously considering buying the griddle and stand to use at home. If I do I will be sure to use your links.
Great quick tip video. Make more of these
This was a great tip video. Thank you!
Thanks showing this tip a great video
I already contacted propane gear and they have a solution for our potable propane fire ring to connect to the low pressure connection on the side of our RV
👍
great tip. more please! how often are you filling your propane tanks while full timing? they are 30 lb. right?
yes.. 30 lb. Usage varies a lot. Boondocking and using LP fridge, cold temps using furnace etc. Maybe once every other month on average?
I note that when she checked the potatoes, she didn’t bring you a beer. Need to work on that... 🤣😂 Great video!
😂🤣 🍻
😂😂😂😂
Great video. We love to grill and since I’m making a list of what we want for our RV.. you guys are helping so much with the information..
It’s funny we were just looking for something similar to that. Thank you👍
😂😂😂 Good video as always, but l o v e those outtakes!
Yeah they are so real and fun!
Thanks for the info!
After watching your video on black stone grill video I purchase it in the summer and give my grill to my nib
Great video!! Thank you .....Not a grill comment, but question about the net that comes down off your awning? Do you have a video on that?

Awesome video guys thanks for the tip
Merry Christmas to all
I did something similar on my 2018 230. Now the 2020 230 comes with a factory installed bbq connection!
Love your videos! Your “how to” videos are awesome - especially for me!!! Question: Is the hose on amazon the same “flexible” hose you show in the video? Thanks for answering.
Yes.. it's a very flexible low pressure hose.
@@ChangingLanes Thanks so much for getting back to me! I am ordering it right now. Be safe and keep the videos coming!
Yea love the it takes too.
You got taken! You could have used the original fittings from the Blackstone to make your connections. Live and learn.
Awesome Setup ...! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟✔✔✔😉
