I no right how lucky are we Luckily my centre support bearing wasn't as bad as yours haha loved how you mounted your go pro underneath on your video 🤙love your channel
My rear uni was exactly the same - notchy as hell. Was giving me vibrations which I originally thought was the front driveshaft as the slip joint spline on that one was really sloppy.
It's stupid how it's not greaseable I hate non serviceable parts!! But annoyingly that's grease nipple I can get onto now without dropping the centre joint to open up the uni joint enough for my grease gun to get into
@@josearteaga8733 my jack goes up pretty high but you are correct was a high point Normally I'll just jack of the left side of the chassis put stands under front and back of one side Then go to the other side and do the same
Hi bro great vedio. I wanted to know if The LR3 transfer has its own CPU. If I bought second transfer do I also have to buy a CPU for the transfer. I changed my transfer and someone told me I need to forvthsy CPU of the transfer please advice
Hey sinasamar sorry I'm not to sure to be honest Trasnfer case does have it own module but I would of thought that you could replace the transfer case without replacing the module
@@OUTBACKDiscovery I went with the GKN on sale here in the US. Can you add detail about making sure the new part lines up with the marks made before removing the old part? @@ChristofBove nice one dude saving money is always a bonus Basically I try line up the new shaft so that the front uni joint I'd sits the same as the old one so it's hard to explain without a photo but the bearing cap Either have it so the bearing cap for the uni on the driveshaft is facing up or it is sideways and just make sure u do the same with the new one It's not a massive deal to line up the driveshaft on ours as the front shaft has knuckle joints instead of a uni, normally it is important because you want the uni joints to look the same the front shaft in comparison to the rear shaft but with ours you only have one uni joint to worry about so it's not the end of the world if it goes on differently Just good practice to put it on the same way

Hey, I’m just about to do this myself. Can I ask when you marked the existing shaft with a marker and then laid them side by side on the floor did you then transfer the marks onto the new shaft? Just wondering will it be balanced ok? Cheers
Morning Ray yeah so I laid them both side by side and tried to line them up so the universal joint was facing the same way aswell as getting the balance weight on the driveshafts as close as possible also If that makes sense
hey mate eddy here i made a youtube account for my Instagram and for me to try and help other landie owners....quick question could the driveshaft cause vibrations ? the thud noise you mentioned is happening to me but also a vibration like torque convertor shudder but I'm wondering if its my driveshaft that's fucked ?
Morning it can cause vibrations easiest way to no if by watching your speed and rpm If you get vibrations and no rpm fluctuations it's driveline related If you get vibrations and rpm fluctuations it's torque converter/trans related Good luck with your channel
🤣 how rude of me hahah Tassie is pretty much are a separate country anyway hahah Looks stunning over there though definitely on our bucket list places to visit
Hey fella, I’m about to replace mine. Do you have the part number for the prop shaft? Was thinking of going directly through Bearmach, as you can only contact Leo through messenger on facebook which I’m not on. Cheers
Thanks mate, actually, I’m starting to suspect a transmission issue. There is a shudder under load when accelerating from low speeds. Car has done 190k and the transmission was allegedly replaced under warranty early in its life. There is a a serviceable pan conversion that has been done. Not sure if a tranny flush will sort this out and I don’t want to waste money on that if it won’t remedy the problem. If it comes to a tranny rebuild, who would you recommend? I remember on one of your other vids you mentioning that you had yours done.
@@adrian5358 yeah if you have a 2k rpm shudder under hard acceleration chances are it's your torque converter I can't remember the name of the company I used ill try google the name tomorrow for you There work was great and I got uprated parts from standard but this price was definitely alot more then a normal zf rebuild it cost me 7.5k Where about are you located if your south Perth I could probly help you figure out what's going on when I'm on break next
Hey mate, thanks for the quick reply. I’m in Collie, but if memory serves my correctly from one of your vids, you’re in Rockingham. We have kids that live in Baldivis, so I could always come to you. Fantastic video. Just replaced this today on our D4 and used the video as a guideline. Greatly appreciate the clarity very simple to follow👌🏻

Nice logo, looks awesome on the Disco. I replaced my rear drive shaft last hear as the carrier bearing was worn.
Cheers Zman I don't no many disco owners who don't have a new driveshaft haha seems to be a common thing

Great video! I will be doing this this weekend. My question is where did you put the jack in the rear to get both wheels in the air?
Hey Jose I jacked off my tow hitch
@@OUTBACKDiscovery Ok thanks. That seems like a high point for the jack. Did you use a piece of wood to elevate it?
@@josearteaga8733 my jack goes up pretty high but you are correct was a high point
Normally I'll just jack of the left side of the chassis put stands under front and back of one side
Then go to the other side and do the same
@@OUTBACKDiscovery Thanks for the info and the video. I am still debating if I can handle replacing the front diff myself? It does look complicated.
apologizes, I meant to do this comment on the front diff removal.
did you put car in neutral?
Hello yep neutral and the when torquing bolts back up would lower car onto the ground to use the wheel to stop driveshaft rotating

The one I used was TVB 500360 was just the bearmach one
